The Charles Becomes a Wizard
Chapter 12 Harry
The families living on Privet Drive are only of modest means, and the place is always particularly lively on weekends, when neighbors usually hold small gatherings. Men will boast about their achievements of the week and have long discussions about current affairs and economic issues, while women will show off their close relationship with each other and occasionally inquire about various gossips.
Unlike most children, Harry Potter does not like weekends. Aunt Petunia does not give him pocket money and he has nowhere to go during school holidays. His stupid and dumb cousin Dali is never willing to share his food or toys with him and does not even allow him to watch TV. Apart from helping with housework, he can only stay in the small closet under the stairs most of the time.
Even in school he was just a gloomy, solitary weirdo who always wore baggy, ill-fitting clothes. But he had some free time, and he liked to stay in the corner and watch his peers playing and fighting, and he couldn't help but imagine that he was one of them and how happy he would be.
Although once he was caught peeking, he would be subjected to even more unbearable teasing and contempt, he still enjoyed doing it.
Moreover, in order to avoid gossip on school days, Aunt Petunia would prepare the same lunch for him as his cousin Dali. However, during holidays, he was always put in solitary confinement for various reasons, and sometimes he could only get a thin pancake a day.
It was another weekend morning. Harry Potter turned off the buzzing alarm clock above his head, groped in the dark to turn on the light in the closet, climbed out of the closet sleepily, washed his face in the kitchen sink, and began to prepare breakfast for the family - he had to prepare breakfast before Aunt Petunia got up, otherwise she would be angry.
An expensive car drove into Privet Drive on an ordinary weekend morning, easily attracting everyone's attention. They stood by the window and kept looking in, wanting to know more about the owner of the car. One door of this car was worth their entire fortune, and it was not something that ordinary people could afford. But they didn't know which neighbor the owner of the car was looking for.
The car stopped at the door of No. 4 Privet Drive under the prying eyes of the crowd. The door of the driver's seat opened and a man in a neat suit walked out. He walked slowly to the door and rang the doorbell.
"Harry, go open the door!" Vernon ordered without even looking up as he was reading a newspaper and leisurely enjoying his breakfast.
"Okay, Uncle Vernon." Harry swallowed the bread in his mouth as quickly as possible and ran to open the door. The man who appeared at the door was tall and had a strong sense of oppression for the short Harry, even though he was handsome and had a polite smile.
Harry took a step back involuntarily, his voice trembling: "Sir, who are you looking for?"
"Excuse me, is Vernon Dursley home?"
"Oh, Harry, who is it? Why are you taking so long to open the door? Are you being lazy?" Petunia Dursley cursed as she wiped her hands on her apron and walked towards the door.
"......" She was also stunned when she saw the man.
"Excuse me, are you Petunia Dursley?" the man asked politely again.
"Yes, yes...I mean I am her." Penny spoke incoherently. She was a little nervous because she didn't know the imposing man in front of her.
"Are you free this morning? Our master has a business matter he would like to discuss with you."
"Business? Vernon, oh, Vernon, come here."
Hearing his wife's call, Vernon ran over quickly: "What's wrong? What happened?"
Petunia looked at Vernon for help as if she had found her backbone: "This gentleman said he wanted to discuss business with us."
Vernon put his wife behind him and looked at the man in front of him: "I don't think we have what you want in our house." He obviously saw the luxury car parked in front of his house, but he was just a manager of a small company and was not arrogant enough to think that someone who could afford such a car would take him seriously.
"Why don't you listen to our business? I think you might like it." The man just smiled.
No matter what the other party wanted to do, it was obvious that the other party did not intend to give up. Vernon shook his wife's slightly trembling hand, thought for a moment and stepped aside: "Why don't you come in and have a cup of tea first?"
"Please wait a moment." The man turned and walked towards the car. He opened the door with a respectful gesture, and a delicate-looking boy walked out of the door. He was only about ten years old, with soft short dark blue hair, fair and shiny skin, wearing a finely crafted suit, holding an exquisite cane in his hand, and even the shoes on his feet were spotless.
A noble and well-loved young master. This was everyone's first impression of the boy.
"Please come in, please come in..." Vernon's face was full of smiles. He then noticed that the man was wearing white gloves on his hands. The man with such an oppressive feeling was actually just the boy's driver!
Charles did not refuse and walked into the Dursleys' house leisurely. The house was not big, but it was kept very clean and tidy. The hostess's care could be felt everywhere. Charles looked carefully at the photo frame on the fireplace. The people in it were all smiling. It could be seen that they were a very happy family of three. It was as if Harry Potter had never existed.
It seems that the savior's situation is far worse than he thought. Charles tapped the floor with his cane thoughtfully. After living in this environment for ten years, would this person really not go to extremes? I'm afraid he has to change his previous thinking.
"Please, please enjoy." Petunia took out the best porcelain and black tea in the house and placed them on the table. After pouring a cup of tea for Charles, she stood behind Vernon a little stiffly.
Charles sniffed the tea, took a sip, looked up and gave Penny a gentle smile: "The tea tastes good, why don't you sit down?"
Penny breathed a sigh of relief and pulled out a chair and sat down.
"If you don't mind, I hope to talk to you alone next time."
Vernon and Petunia looked at each other and told Dudley and Harry Potter to leave the house.
"I think you have guessed that the reason I am here is because of your nephew." Charles said straight to the point. "Your nephew seems to have some special abilities."
"I don't know what you are talking about..." Penny's nerves were a little tense and her face showed fear.
"Now that I'm here, I think we can have a frank talk."
"We don't know, we don't know anything!" Penny's expression froze in fear.
"Who are you? What do you want?! What on earth do you want to do!" Vernon grabbed his wife's hand and yelled excitedly.
"Swish", a dagger with a cold glow stabbed heavily into the solid wooden table top. The tall man with murderous aura also successfully calmed Vernon down.
"How can you do such a thing when you are a guest at someone else's house?" The boy frowned slightly and criticized indifferently, then turned to look at the Dursleys and smiled apologetically: "Sorry, the servants at home are very rude."
