The Charles Becomes a Wizard

Chapter 146 Ministry of Magic

Just like the platform where one could take the train to Hogwarts, the scene before Charles' eyes changed in the blink of an eye.

"Welcome to the Ministry of Magic." Andy Cooper said with a smile as he stood in the hall.

The dome of the Ministry of Magic is very high, with large pieces of glass inlaid on the top. Fine rays of light shine through the glass and fall on the pitch-black floor. The whole hall is almost dark, but it is brightly lit by candlelight. There is a strange-looking fountain sculpture on the side, and a fireplace is surrounded not far from the sculpture. From time to time, a ray of fire bursts out of the fireplace, and then a well-dressed wizard with a briefcase in hand walks out of the flames in a hurry or disappears.

Although it was already afternoon, there were still quite a few wizards coming and going.

Ciel patted Sebastian's arm and told him to put him down.

It was too embarrassing to be held in someone's arms like a child in public. Charles could feel that many people's attention was already on them.

"Master?" Sebastian tilted his head, pretending that he knew nothing, and then he was kicked by Charles.

The demon who had successfully pissed off Charles put him down contentedly, then slowly patted off the remaining footprints on his clothes, and turned around to meet Andy Cooper's somewhat strange gaze.

"Mr. Cooper, what can I do for you?"

Andy Cooper: “No…I mean, please go this way.”

He led the two of them to the elevator. The shabby-looking door was just randomly surrounded by a thin iron mesh that seemed to be manual. If you lower your head slightly, you can see the pitch-black elevator shaft below.

Andy Cooper reached out and pressed the door. The next second, the main body of the elevator whooshed down from the sky and stopped in front of them with a muffled "creak".

It doesn't look very safe...

But with the devil around him, Charles wasn't too worried about his safety. He was about to get on the elevator when Andy Cooper stopped him.

I saw a paper crane resting on his finger at some point, and the expression on his face seemed a little stiff for some reason.

"Sorry, I just received a notice that we need to go to the third courtroom," he paused, "this elevator cannot reach it."

Courtroom?

Charles chewed on the name and gave Andy Cooper an innocent smile.

"Then I'll trouble you, Mr. Cooper."

......

Walking through the deep corridor, Charles and Sebastian were brought to a door. Just before the door was opened, Andy Clow, who had been worried all the way, suddenly spoke.

"Don't worry, it should be fine."

Is this considered an early warning?

This sentence made Charles even more curious about what would happen next...

He pushed the door open without hesitation and walked in. The heavy door closed behind him, and Charles could see the scene in front of him clearly.

The room looked like a structure that was wide at the top and narrow at the bottom. In the center was a small hall with a table and a chair in it. It was surrounded by a high fence, and behind the fence were rows of seats. A dozen adult wizards with serious faces were sitting on the chairs, looking down at him condescendingly.

It looked very oppressive. Even a sane adult would feel uneasy when faced with such a scene. And they actually used it against a student who hadn't even graduated from Hogwarts?!

The look of being on high alert struck Charles as somewhat ridiculous, and he actually laughed.

Charles' unexpected reaction seemed to anger everyone sitting on the platform. Their faces looked a little ugly, and the old man with gray beard in the middle coughed loudly.

"Are you Phantomhive?"

Charles nodded nonchalantly.

"Tell us what you saw last night," he said in a condescending tone.

In fact, this trial was just a formality for them. The death of so many wizards in one night was not something that could be easily overlooked. Well, although those people had the Dark Mark on their hands, it was obvious that such a thing could not be publicized directly, otherwise it would likely cause panic in the wizarding world.

In order to avoid complications, they need to find a murderer as soon as possible.

Isn't a young Muggle wizard who has no roots in the wizarding world and is not yet an adult a good candidate? It is normal for a magic riot caused by the instability of the magic power of a young wizard to lead to the death of several "unprepared" adult wizards.

As for why I didn't think about finding the real murderer...

Is that because they don't want to?

Aurors found nothing except a few table knives! And those trolls actually wiped the memories of the Muggles without figuring out anything! Almost all the clues were gone!

Of course, according to the Aurors who were present at the time, the memories of Phantomhive father and son were not erased, so if you want, you can retrieve their memories and search...

But why do they go to all that trouble?

A large number of Wizengamot members have grudges against the Death Eaters. These people don't care how their "enemies" died, and they don't want to arrest the "heroes" who have eliminated harm to the wizarding world.

The other part is made up of nobles. Although they were once or are now Death Eaters, there is no such thing as "comradeship" under the Dark Lord. They are all competitors and can't wait to trample their competitors under their feet.

What does it have to do with them if someone dies because of incompetence?

revenge?

Oh, don't be ridiculous! You might as well use this time to annex the property left behind by those "wastes"!

At this time, pushing an unimportant person to take the blame is undoubtedly the simplest and most worry-free method.

As for why Charles was not convicted directly...

In fact, it was just to leave room for retaliation, or to shut up the Malfoy family.

After all, they heard that Malfoy invited this punk-blood to be his guest in front of everyone. Although they didn't know the reason, many of them were unwilling to provoke a vicious and cunning Malfoy for no reason. If this punk-blood was important enough to Malfoy, he could of course take the person away during the trial.

Of course if Malfoy did that, they would have to find another scapegoat.

I have to admit that the ideas of these old foxes are indeed very good, but unfortunately, they hit a wall.

Charles walked to the chair and sat down, leaning back slightly, crossing his legs, and placing his fingers together in a tower shape on the table in front of him, looking at the wizards on the podium leisurely.

Hmm...from this perspective, the sense of oppression seems to have become even stronger.

Charles thought aimlessly.

"Mr. Phantomhive!" the leading wizard said in a deep voice. "What did you see last night?"

The petite boy raised his eyebrows when he heard that. Although he was being judged, he was calm and composed as if he was the presiding judge of this place.
