The Charles Becomes a Wizard

"Will you help her continue to protect her son?"

This simple sentence instantly brought Snape back to the heartbreaking night more than ten years ago.

It was on a windy mountain. He had just learned the news of Lily's death, and just like today, he was almost collapsed and questioned Dumbledore.

Snape didn't know why this famous white wizard failed to protect Lily. He had clearly reminded him in advance, hadn't he?

"No, don't." Snape growled in a low voice. He would rather the person who survived was Lily, the red-haired girl who grew up with him. What did it matter to him what the Potter kid looked like?

"Gone, dead..."

"Are you regretting, Severus?" Dumbledore looked at him coldly. "Your regret is of no use."

"If you love Lily, if you really love her, then you should know what to do next."

But, she didn't have to die...

If it weren't for that damned sacrificial magic, she might not have died...

The Dark Lord had promised that he would spare Lily's life as a reward for himself...
