The Charles Becomes a Wizard

Chapter 182 The girl’s . . . . . .

It was late at night and the city, which was bustling during the day, had become quiet. A few street lights were lit sporadically on the empty streets, but most of the narrow alleys were still pitch black, making it difficult to see clearly.

The patrolling police officer was a young man of no more than 20 years old. When he passed through an alley, he heard a soft and childish voice.

"Mr. Policeman, would you like to buy a bouquet of flowers?" The girl who walked out of the alley looked only five or six years old. Her round little face was red from the cold. Her clothes were patched at the elbows, but they looked very clean. She had a bamboo basket on her arm, and in the basket was a bunch of flowers wrapped in paper.

When he looked over with eager eyes, the police officer, who had a daughter of similar age, felt his heart softened.

"There have been a lot of child abductions recently," he half-knelt down and said to the girl, "Go home quickly."

"But if they're not sold out," the girl said hesitantly, tears welling up in her round eyes, "Mom will..."

"Oh..." The young police officer sighed, and still spent money to buy the bouquet of inconspicuous flowers.

The girl clenched the coin in her hand, and her small figure disappeared into an alley.

"That's great! This way I can help pay for Jimmy's medicine." She happily ran towards home, and suddenly heard a soft and melodious flute sound coming from the alley next to her.

She paused slightly, turned around and saw a beautiful poster on the wall, so she stopped.

"It's a circus!" The girl opened her eyes wide, looking at the poster with longing in her eyes. After a moment, she lowered her head to look at the coins in her hand, "If I make more money, I can take Jimmy there."

Before he finished speaking, the sound of a flute coming from deep in the alley suddenly became cheerful.

She clenched the coin in her hand, looked towards the pitch-dark alley, hesitated for a moment, and then walked in cautiously.

Only the skeleton's hands grasped the silver flute, and the corners of the young man's lips curled up slightly.

"Miss, do you like the circus?" A smiling voice came from the dark alley.

"Ah!!!" The girl trembled all over and took a step back subconsciously, almost falling to the ground. When she turned around, she found a man with short orange hair and a smear of blue paint on his left eye kneeling on one knee in front of her.

"You..." She wanted to speak with a trembling voice, but the man did not give her a chance.

"If you have time, come and have a look?" The long flute fell into his palm, and the next second there was a bunch of blooming flowers in his hand.

The simple trick easily diverted the girl's attention.

There was an expression of surprise on her face, and she didn't notice that the shiny powder entered her body with her breath.

"It's showtime!" The bouquet in the young man's hand was thrown high into the air and turned into a beautiful rain of petals in the air.

This dark and dirty alley suddenly took on a different look.

An exquisite white umbrella appeared in front of her eyes, spinning. Under the umbrella, a girl wearing a white flower headdress and a puffy skirt of the same color, like the most exquisite doll displayed in the window, jumped down lightly from mid-air. After a few jumps, she disappeared at the intersection decorated with flowers and gems.

"Welcome to."

"A world of dreams."

The two "children" - a boy and a girl - sitting on the swings and swinging down from the air were smiling happily. They were wearing colorful clothes and easily performed various difficult movements on the swings, flying up and down as the swings swayed.

The girl, who had never seen such a scene before, was almost mesmerized.

"Don't worry," the skeletal hand was placed on the girl's shoulder, and the man's voice was gentle yet seductive in her ear.

"Go over this hill, and there is a carriage to the land of dreams waiting for you."

At the end of the clean road covered with rose petals, there is a gorgeous pumpkin carriage. Everything is just like what my mother said in her story - at the end of the story, the guards will come to take the princess home in the pumpkin carriage.

"Come on, go there, Miss Candy."

The gentle voice urged softly.

Yes, go ahead, take that carriage, and you won't have to work so hard anymore...

The coins that were tightly clenched in the girl's hand fell to the ground, but she had no intention of picking them up. Her eyes were only on the beautiful white carriage, and she walked towards it straightly and firmly, step by step.

The coin rolling out of the dim alley caught the police officer's attention. He shone the flashlight over there and saw that at the end of the alley, the girl who had just sold him the flowers was standing in front of a car with a smile on her face.

A young man dressed strangely opened the car door for her.

A sharp whistle suddenly sounded, attracting special attention in the quiet night.

He blew the whistle, took out his gun, and strode towards the girl.

The girl who was about to get on the bus was stunned for a moment. She turned around and saw a chubby, furry bear wearing a police officer's hat stumbling towards her.

"Ah, it's Mr. Bear!" She turned around and laughed out loud at the funny look of the big bear while running. "What's the matter, Mr. Bear?"

"What are you doing..." Before the police officer could even ask, he heard heavy footsteps behind him. He turned around suddenly and saw a tall man with his upper body naked appeared behind him. The man raised his arms high with his fingers crossed and clenched fists, then slammed them down heavily.

Blood splattered everywhere and his head was completely smashed.

The man holding the plastic hammer hit Mr. Bear on the head with the hammer in his hand. The next second, colorful fireworks confetti exploded on Mr. Bear's head.

"Wow!" The girl opened her eyes wide with excitement.

The policemen around were attracted by the whistle and ran over quickly. Before they could draw their guns, they were pierced in the head by a flying knife that flew out of the darkness.

The blond boy who was throwing the flying knives in his hand winked at the girl playfully. Fireworks appeared one after another on the bodies of the Mr. Bears who were hit by the knives. The colorful colors made the girl applaud uncontrollably.

"Wow!! That's amazing!!!"

The girl's cheerful laughter mixed with the policemen's painful groans, and the strong smell of blood was replaced by the sweet smell of candy.

"Miss, the carriage is about to leave." JOKER reminded softly.

"Yeah!" The girl climbed into the car obediently and sat down. She didn't hear the policemen's wailing at all, nor did she notice the alley that was already soaked in blood.

The policeman who was still alive struggled to get up, but could only watch the car disappear around the corner of the street.

The silver flute fell from a height and pierced the back of his head silently.
