The Charles Becomes a Wizard
Chapter 345 Stronghold?
After being betrayed one after another, Voldemort's power was greatly reduced, his emotions became more and more unstable, and his behavior became more and more violent.
If his original goal was to achieve immortality and become the king of the British wizarding world, then now he wants to drag the entire British wizarding world, no, it should be said that the entire Britain, to be buried with him.
Under such circumstances, Dumbledore, who had been secretly monitoring the Death Eaters, once again invited Charles to meet.
Although, the first person he wanted to contact was Gellert.
But Gellert refused Dumbledore on the grounds that he would not interfere in British affairs.
Wantonly interfering in the internal affairs of other countries and deliberately causing unrest in the wizarding world for personal gain - this was one of the charges Gellert was saddled with after his defeat.
Now Gellert used this reason to reject Dumbledore, and no one could blame him.
No one knew how complicated Dumbledore's mood was after receiving the reply, but to the old man, the safety of the British wizarding world was far more important than his own emotions, so he just calmed himself down a little before going to find Charles.
Dumbledore obviously knew that Charles had no good feelings towards him, so in order to express his sincerity, he arranged the meeting at the temporary base of the Order of the Phoenix - the old house of the Black family.
That’s right, a temporary base.
In fact, Sirius originally wanted to donate the Black family's old house directly to the Order of the Phoenix as a real base, but a few years later, due to his own poor management and the deliberate suppression by some people with ulterior motives (especially Lucius), the part of the Black family's inheritance that the Ministry of Magic had returned to him was already very little.
Although Sirius still had a job as an assistant teacher at Hogwarts, for Sirius, the former heir of the Black family, whose buttons cost more than a dozen gold Galleons, that meager salary was not enough to support his daily life.
What's more, his relationship with Harry had grown stronger over the years, and he had no intention of committing suicide. Of course, he would consider life after the war, so after careful consideration, he finally just borrowed the empty house temporarily.
After receiving the invitation, Ciel, led by Sirius, arrived at Grimmauld Place in the northwest of London, England through Apparition.
Ciel stood on the street and looked up at the building in front of him. He had never thought that the Black family, who always attached great importance to bloodline and despised Muggles, would actually place their old house in a place where there are so many ordinary people.
"This house is under a Fidelius Charm. No one can find this place unless the Secret-Keeper tells you in person." Sirius shrugged casually.
For some reason, he always felt a little uncomfortable when facing this Phantomhive.
"You know, in this special period, we need to pay attention to our own safety."
Ciel nodded to show his understanding, and then Sirius waved the wand in his hand. The originally adjacent wall between No. 11 and No. 13 Grimmauld Place suddenly moved outward, and a building appeared abruptly, while ordinary people coming and going around could not notice anything.
The whole house looked dirty and messy from the outside. The first thing Charles saw was a black-painted door covered with scratches. The silver door handle was in the shape of a coiled snake. There was no keyhole on the door. Sirius took two steps forward, pushed the door open and walked in.
Charles followed closely behind him and walked into the black door.
The environment inside the house was obviously not clean or tidy. The wallpaper on the wall was obviously moldy and the color was mottled and ugly. There were fine and dense spider webs in the corners, and the decorative curtains had obvious signs of insect bites. There was fine dust floating in the air, and a faint smell of decay. Even the floor looked dirty.
Charles looked around quietly. Although the house looked dirty and messy now, the various exquisite and expensive objects in the house gave one a glimpse of the Black family's heyday.
Before Charles could say anything, he saw the insect-eaten curtain open with a swish, revealing a portrait of a woman hidden behind it. Then he heard a woman's scream, or rather a roar.
"Filthy, vile Mudblood!"
The woman who looked old-fashioned and mean uttered a shrill and vicious curse the moment she saw Charles. Her crazy look was completely unimaginable. She was once a beautiful lady who was highly sought after by everyone in the British wizarding world.
"Sorry, this is my mother." Sirius hurriedly pulled the curtains up again, his brows furrowed, as if he felt a little embarrassed.
"She's always like this, and it's not just for you."
Sirius explained, then quickly took Ciel up the stairs to the second floor. The wall next to the stairs was covered with the heads of the house-elves who had served the Black family all their lives, adding a bit of horror to this already eerie house.
Sirius brought Charles all the way to the living room. Dumbledore was not the only one in the living room. There were also several people who were obviously the backbone of the Order of the Phoenix.
Professor McGonagall was visibly stunned when she saw Ciel.
"Mr. Phantomhive." Professor McGonagall stood up from the sofa, "Why are you here?"
Although she knew that Ciel was now Grindelwald's apprentice, in her opinion there was no need to involve such a young child in the war.
"Huh, turns out he's just a little kid, a complete waste of our time." A man with a somewhat ferocious appearance said this. Charles noticed that he had a strange fake eye on his face that kept rolling.
It was obvious that everyone else in the room agreed with the man's point of view, and they looked at Charles with obvious scrutiny and contempt.
"Professor McGonagall," Ciel nodded to Professor McGonagall. "Mr. Dumbledore invited me here."
"Of course, if you have other opinions, I can leave now." The boy with delicate appearance and decent clothes raised his chin slightly, revealing the arrogance that the members of the Order of the Phoenix did not like.
Charles would not indulge them. Anyway, he was not the one who wanted to find someone to cooperate with. After saying this, he turned around and left, which made those who wanted to test him feel a little embarrassed.
"Mr. Phantomhive." He had just reached the stairs when he heard an old voice coming from upstairs.
"Mr. Dumbledore." Charles looked up and said, "I don't seem to be welcome here. I think you wouldn't mind sending someone to take me away?"
