The Charles Becomes a Wizard
Chapter 346: Order of the Phoenix and?
The slender boy stood there and looked up. His delicate features made him look fragile yet harmless. The gorgeous chandelier above his head cast warm light, as if even the light favored him and all gathered on him.
The boy standing in the center of the light clearly looked out of place in the dilapidated and old environment around him, yet he somehow blended in very well, as if he was a young master who had willfully escaped from a noble banquet hundreds of years ago. Even the rotten wallpaper behind him seemed to be glowing with a luxurious glow again.
Dumbledore looked at him and could actually feel the passage of time through him.
It was only a few seconds, but it felt like a hundred years.
The luxurious house was decaying and fading at a speed visible to the naked eye, and the once prosperous appearance of the Black family was no longer visible. However, he remained unchanged, and still looked so calm and proud.
"Mr. Dumbledore?" Charles raised his eyebrows slightly.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Phantomhive. I think there must be some misunderstanding here." Dumbledore explained in a deep voice, "You are our distinguished guest. How can you be unwelcome?"
Dumbledore walked down the stairs and made a gesture of invitation to Charles.
He looked at Charles with eyes full of fatigue and helplessness: "Come and sit down for a while, the next thing is very important."
Charles looked at him, saw how serious he was, thought for a moment and didn't refuse him.
When Charles entered the living room again, he instantly became the focus of everyone's attention. The man with the strange blue eyes showed a sarcastic smile on his face. He was about to say something but was stopped by Dumbledore's eyes.
In fact, it wasn't just him. All the members of the Order of the Phoenix, except Sirius who had suffered a loss, didn't think that a young Muggle wizard who hadn't graduated from Hogwarts could play any role in the upcoming battle, even if this young wizard was someone Grindelwald valued.
For such an important matter, they believe that a child has the ability to influence the overall situation.
Is Dumbledore confused?
Some people secretly complained in their hearts.
"I think everyone is curious about the reason why I called you together today." Dumbledore coughed twice, drawing everyone's attention to himself.
"I just received news that Voldemort has gained the support of giants and werewolves."
This simple sentence made everyone present look serious.
"Giant!" exclaimed Professor McGonagall. "How could it be possible? How could they?"
"You've fought so hard for them..."
"Well, Minerva," Dumbledore sighed softly, "it is inevitable."
It was simply because Voldemort offered a higher reward, or the giants believed that the Death Eaters had a greater chance of winning in the end. In the face of interests, the help they had given to the giants was not that important.
Dumbledore's eyes swept across the faces of everyone present.
"Voldemort is already gathering all kinds of forces. I think you should know what this means."
"I'm afraid the war is about to begin."
The air in the room quickly condensed, and silence spread in the space.
Giants and werewolves?
Ciel gently turned the ring on his thumb and his eyes stopped on Remus Lupin, whom he had not seen for a long time.
He was the only werewolf Charles had ever seen. Thinking of his irrational appearance in the Forbidden Forest that night and his aggressiveness that was far beyond that of ordinary people, Charles pursed his lips unconsciously.
"We need to fight for everything we can in order to win."
"How is this possible!" A short, fat and wretched-looking wizard shouted, "He has Dementors under his command!"
"We are doomed," he turned around anxiously and looked at Dumbledore with his swollen and bloodshot eyes. "How can we defeat them?!"
He pointed his short, thick finger at Charles: "Rely on such a fragile brat?"
"Dumbledore, are you crazy?"
"Hmm?" Ciel tilted his head and called out the man's name accurately: "Mundungus Fletcher, are you qualified to tell me what to do?"
He glanced at Mundungus Fletcher indifferently, and the aura around him suddenly increased. The strong sense of oppression and the cold gaze as if he was looking at an inanimate object made Mundungus Fletcher, who had been hanging around at the bottom of the magic world for many years, feel alarmed, and he lowered his raised finger unconsciously.
Ciel tapped his knees twice with his fingers, ignoring the complicated and strange looks cast upon him by the members of the Order of the Phoenix.
"Mr. Dumbledore, I think there are some things you should explain to your subordinates before discussing cooperation."
"My time is very valuable. There is no need to waste our time on such meaningless attempts."
"If you continue to let this happen, I will doubt your sincerity in wanting to cooperate."
As soon as Dumbledore's news came out, Ciel did begin to consider whether or not to cooperate with the Order of the Phoenix.
Even though he was no longer the head of the Phantomhive family, he could not watch those two humanoid groups wreak havoc on society - he didn't think Voldemort could control them from attacking ordinary people.
Moreover, Ciel remembered clearly that if an ordinary person was bitten by a werewolf, there was a high possibility that he would also become a werewolf. By then, it would be too late to take care of it...
But cooperation is cooperation, and the initiative must still be in our own hands.
Do you want to treat yourself as a subordinate who can be deployed at will?
Just dream.
Charles could understand Dumbledore's desire for control, but that didn't mean he needed to cooperate with him.
The impolite words made the faces of the people in the Order of the Phoenix even uglier. The reason why they gathered in the Order of the Phoenix was largely because of their trust in Dumbledore. Seeing Charles's appearance at this moment, they couldn't help but feel dissatisfied.
But Dumbledore himself was used to it.
He raised his hand and pressed it lightly on his chest. "Thank you for Mundungus' inspiring speech. Mr. Phantomhive is my partner. I hope everyone can give him the proper respect."
"Dumbledore, he's only a child..." Professor McGonagall said disapprovingly.
"What can only he do?" Mad-Eye Moody's blue eyes rolled around. "Can he cooperate with the Order of the Phoenix on behalf of the Witch Party?"
