Became good friends with the Boy Who Lived
Chapter 78 Harry's Christmas Gift
This Christmas at Hogwarts was more deserted than previous Christmases. Almost no students chose to celebrate the holiday in school. After saying goodbye to everyone, Draco hurried home to celebrate the holiday. Even Fred, George and Percy returned to the Burrow.
On the morning of December 25th, Aris put on the sweater knitted for him by Mrs. Weasley and sat on his bed, chewing the handmade chocolate biscuits that Selina had sent him.
Harry and Ron were opening Christmas presents when Ron suddenly exclaimed, "Merlin's beard, this... this... this... this is a Firebolt..."
The door of the dormitory was pushed open. "What are you doing? Shouting!" Hermione walked in holding Crookshanks. Crookshanks looked very unhappy because he was wearing a pink collar around his neck.
"Miss Know-It-All, do you remember that this is the boys' dormitory?" Aris asked quietly.
Hermione waved her hand impatiently and stuffed Crookshanks into Aris's arms. Ron quickly hid Scabbers in his arms and shouted in horror:
"Hurry up and drive this monster out... drive it out... my Banban is almost scared to death by it."
Aeris fed Crookshanks some soft cake, and as Crookshanks nibbled on it he stared at Ron's chest, where Scabbers was hidden.
While stroking Crookshanks' fur, Aries said slowly, "Crookshanks, you are not Tom, and Scabbers is not Jerry, so stop chasing him."
Crookshanks meowed, as if agreeing. Aeris looked towards Harry and the others. Harry was holding an exquisite flying broom in his hands like a treasure.
Aeris had never thought that a broom could be made so beautifully, like a work of art. When Harry loosened his hand, the broom automatically floated in the right position. As long as Harry wanted, he could fly on it at any time.
Ron looked at Crookshanks warily, then asked doubtfully, "Who would give you such a precious gift? You know, this Firebolt is definitely worth more than all the flying brooms in the castle combined."
"And even if you have money you may not be able to buy it," Hermione said. "Only members of professional Quidditch teams can buy the Firebolt."
"Could it be Headmaster Dumbledore?" Ron guessed, "Didn't he give you the Invisibility Cloak in your first year?"
"The Invisibility Cloak is a relic of Harry's father," said Aris. "This can only be regarded as returning it to its original owner. Professor Dumbledore really likes Harry, but as the headmaster of Hogwarts, he will not spoil Harry too much."
"Oh, right..." Ron continued, "It's Professor Lupin. He also admires Harry. Maybe Professor Lupin and Harry's parents were good friends during their school days..."
"Come on, Ron!" said Harry. "If Professor Lupin was really that rich he wouldn't dress so plainly all day."
Harry liked the Firebolt so much that he wanted to go out right now and ride it for a few laps. "Let's go to the restaurant and have breakfast," Harry said. "I want to fly a few laps over to the Quidditch field in the morning."
"Can I fly a few laps with the Firebolt?" Ron also said excitedly.
"Of course..." Harry said.
While Harry and Ron were discussing excitedly, Hermione took Crookshanks from Aries and stroked its fur, looking thoughtful.
Suddenly, Crookshanks broke free from Hermione and pounced towards Ron. Aeris quickly picked up the wand on the bedside table and waved it. Amid Crookshanks' unwilling cries, it returned to Aeris' arms.
Aris put down his wand, tapped Crookshanks' little head with his index finger, and said unhappily, "Why can't you go and harm other mice..." Aris stared into Crookshanks' eyes and understood what he meant.
At the same time, a scene that did not belong to Aris's memory appeared in Aris's mind. He handed Crookshanks to Hermione, picked up the wand again, and pointed it at Ron.
Ron, who was frightened by Crookshanks, was about to lose his temper, but when he saw Aris pointing his wand at him, he took a step back and said in horror, "What are you doing, Aris..."
Harry quickly stood in the middle. The tip of Aris's wand had begun to glow purple. Harry quickly said, "Put your wand down first, Aris. What happened? It's just the nature of pets. It shouldn't be that serious!"
"Get out of the way, Harry," Aris said solemnly, "Ron, I'm not attacking you either. Take out your Scabbers. Believe me, he's not an ordinary mouse..."
"Scabbers is definitely not ordinary," Ron said excitedly. "Although he's just a mouse, he's been with our family for more than ten years. More than ten years! He's been a member of our family since Bill was a student. Over the years, we have become attached to every blade of grass and every tree in the house. Even the gnomes in the garden, my dad couldn't bear to completely eliminate them. Even if Scabbers is dying, I hope he can die with dignity..."
Ron was babbling excitedly. Hermione was holding Crookshanks and standing beside Aris anxiously. She persuaded him, "Aris, don't..."
"You don't understand at all..." Aeris yelled, and the others looked at Aeris in horror, because Aeris had never yelled before, "He is not a mouse at all, he is a human being, he is an Animagus, believe me, when have I ever done anything to hurt you? He..."
"Ouch..." Ron cried out in pain, and Banban fell to the ground. He ran out of the dormitory regardless of anything. His agile figure did not look as weak as usual.
"Disguise broken, original appearance restored~" Aeris cast two spells on Banban in succession, and Banban turned into a short man before escaping from the dormitory.
This short man was severely bald and had a round body. He was not much taller than the dwarves. He turned around and looked at the stunned crowd with watery eyes. His facial features were really similar to those of a mouse.
"Who are you? What is your purpose?" Aesop roared, and the tip of his wand glowed a dangerous red. The short man tumbled out of the dormitory. Aesop hurriedly chased after him, but there was only a mouse at the end of the corridor, which disappeared at the entrance of the staircase.
"He ran away!" Aeris said, turning around to look at the other companions. Crookshanks also ran out of the dormitory. Aeris quickly shouted:
"Come back, Crookshanks, you can't beat him... Why are all these people so troublesome..." Seeing Crookshanks disappear in the same place, Aeris murmured helplessly.
Ron's face looked very ugly, and the blood on his hand that had protected Scabbers kept flowing. Hermione was trying to stop the bleeding for Ron, and Harry was helping him in a panic.
"See?" Aeris said, "This is the mouse you have raised for more than ten years."
Ron muttered to himself as if he had lost his mind: "How could it be... Impossible..."
