Naruto: We are invincible

Chapter 188 Mountain Climbing

"Unbelievable," Tsunade muttered to herself as she read the report three times to make sure she hadn't missed any details.

"A ninja with active chakra veins shouldn't get sick unless it's a fatal disease. This is one of the benefits of being a ninja." Tsunade pondered, "Even if he is the head of a family who rarely goes on missions, he should stay in good physical condition."

She couldn't understand why this happened. She had only one thing to do. She took a deep breath and shouted to the Hokage Building:

"Shizune!"

## Naruto's Side ##

It had been two hours since Naruto's team entered the mountain, and the climb had been rather dull and tedious, as they had yet to encounter any other teams.

Each team's starting point at the bottom of the mountain was random and scattered, so this was expected.

They had just climbed halfway up the mountain and could already feel the difficulty breathing due to lack of oxygen, not to mention the freezing temperature which brought them more trouble.

But they were ninjas after all, the most powerful warriors in the world. Even for a well-trained ninja, these conditions would only annoy them. They would slow them down, but they would never hinder their progress.

Naruto had already started using the cold-resistance technique to keep his body warm. He looked around and saw nothing but white snow. He turned to look at Sai, who was also using the cold-resistance technique. Then, his eyes turned to Hinata, who was walking in the middle of the team with her Byakugan open.

Just then, Naruto noticed something was wrong.

"Hinata!" Naruto shouted, but Hinata didn't turn around. She didn't need to turn around because her Byakugan was open, she just nodded to show that she heard it.

"I noticed that you didn't use the cold-resistance technique, aren't you cold?" Naruto asked curiously.

"It's not that cold, it actually feels pretty good." Hinata replied and Naruto raised an eyebrow.

"Really?" Naruto thought curiously, "It's almost minus thirty degrees Celsius now, and she said she feels pretty good?" Naruto shook his head, finding it very interesting.

boom!

Naruto, Hinata, and Sai immediately stopped in their tracks as they heard a loud bang echoing through the air.

They tried to determine the source of the sound and turned their attention to the left.

They saw a huge column of smoke rising into the sky.

"Looks like we're not the only team here," Hinata said, extending her Byakugan into the smoke.

"A team fell down." Hinata said, she saw a team being chased by an avalanche and running down the hillside.

It was fun to watch. She knew they wouldn't die from just one avalanche, but watching them scurry down the mountain was too much fun to miss.

"Have you seen Shikamaru's team?" Naruto asked.

Hinata refocused her Byakugan and widened her search, scanning the entire mountain for their friend.

"They're climbing as well." Hinata replied, "They're on the other side of the mountain, just past the four kilometer mark. We're the closest team to the top." Hinata said with a smile and Naruto looked at her curiously.

"We were lucky to get the steepest path on this mountain." Hinata said and Naruto smiled. Only Sai stood there, feeling like an outsider, although he didn't show it.

## A few hours later ##

"Welcome to Crystal Peak." When Naruto's team reached the top of the mountain, several ninjas from the Hidden Cloud Village welcomed them.

"Looks like we're the first to arrive." Naruto said.

The ninja nodded.

"Wow, this is a beautiful view." Naruto said as he looked around and saw nothing but pure white. The mountain was so high that it seemed as if they were standing above the clouds.

The white clouds are like a pure white blanket, against the blue sky under the sunlight.

"I almost wanted to jump onto the clouds." Naruto said with a smile, and Hinata just shook her head.

"I don't recommend you to do this. It's a long distance below." The ninja from the Hidden Cloud Village grinned.

"This is your flag," the ninja said, handing Naruto a small black flag.

"I wish you good luck in the upcoming competitions." The ninja said and everyone nodded.

"At least it will be quicker to get down the mountain," Hinata said as she and her teammates jumped up and began running towards the forest at the bottom of the mountain.

"I have a suggestion." Sai interrupted their conversation and got their attention.

"Super beast fake painting." Sai said, drawing something on his scroll.

With a loud scream, three black and white birds flew out from the reels.

They flapped their wings, creating a small whirlwind, and flew into the sky.

"This will be faster." Sai said, jumping onto the back of a bird and waiting for Naruto and Hinata to sit on as well.

"Sounds good," Naruto said, jumping onto the back of a bird as well, while Hinata sat on the last one.

With a loud scream, the birds dived downward at an incredible speed.

"Why didn't you use this jutsu sooner?" Naruto asked, having to put a hand in front of his eyes to block the strong wind.

"I didn't remember." Sai said calmly. Naruto wiped his sweat helplessly and concentrated on controlling the bird under him.

## Forbidden Forest ##

"This is the famous forbidden forest of the Hidden Cloud Village." Naruto couldn't help but exclaim when his group arrived at the entrance of the forest.

"That's very impressive..." Naruto said as he crossed his arms and surveyed the forest in front of him.

He had to admit that the forest did give people an ominous feeling.

The forest seemed shrouded in darkness, and a cold wind whistled past.

Naruto's team cautiously walked into the forest and were surprised to find that the entrance seemed to close on its own behind them, as if to trap them there forever.

"It's an illusion," Hinata whispered, her voice quiet but loud enough for her teammates to hear.

They all nodded in agreement, feeling the subtle changes in their chakra veins.

"Is it an enemy attack?" Sai asked, one hand already grasping the hilt of the dagger. He glanced around vigilantly, trying to find any potential danger.

"No." Hinata answered, opening her Byakugan, "This genjutsu seems to have existed for a long time."

"Probably one of the many traps set for this phase of the exam." Naruto said. They all agreed with this view and continued on their way.

The forest looked like something out of a horror movie.

The trees towered high into the sky, their dense branches and foliage blocking out the sun, almost making them look very small, and the sunlight could hardly penetrate the canopy.

There were some black flowers growing sporadically on the ground, and some withered and fallen leaves were scattered all over the ground.

The rugged terrain is blocked by rocks and thorns and looks like a natural formation.

There were noises coming from deep in the forest, and an owl made a shrill cry.
