## Heart of the Fire Nation ##

The Four Sound Ninjas traveled through the Land of Fire at the fastest speed, carrying a large barrel.

Sasuke was trapped in a barrel, pushing his curse seal to the next level.

Sasuke's body was under tremendous pressure, and the barrel could slow down the progress of the curse seal, allowing it to be upgraded safely.

"We are being tracked by five Konoha ninjas," Kidomaru said.

"Can we get rid of them?" Jiro asked.

"No. We have big barrels with us. They are very fast. They will catch up with us in an hour."

"Why don't you stop and kill them?" Tayuya yelled and Kidomaru shook his head.

"No chance. They have Naruto, the Thunder God of Konoha, an S-rank ninja. And Hinata Hyuga, the Goddess of Death, an A-rank ninja," Kidomaru said.

"That's great," Tayuya said sarcastically, "How do you know all that?"

"I'll know after reading the bounty letter." Kidomaru said.

"What should we do now?" asked Tayuya.

"They will catch up... We need backup. I have already sent a distress signal to Lord Orochimaru." Kidomaru said, sending out a spider.

"Set traps to slow them down," Kidomaru ordered, and everyone nodded in agreement.

If Sasuke could wake up from his coma, they would be able to escape their pursuers, the heavy barrels making them move slowly.

## A few hours ago - Konoha Village - 5am ##

The sun rose, shining brightly over Konoha Village, the wind blew gently, the birds sang, and people began to walk around the streets.

A new team is on their morning patrol. They jump from rooftop to rooftop, keeping a low profile. Suddenly, an Inuzuka member notices a strange smell and signals the team to stop.

"What's the problem, boar?" asked the snake-masked ANBU.

"I smell something strange, a strong smell of burning charcoal," the boar-masked ANBU replied.

In less than a minute, the ANBU team reached the source of the smell.

They jumped off the roof, landed on the ground, followed the boar's lead, and found a pile of ashes.

"These are not ordinary ashes...they are made by burning people." said the wild boar.

"Obviously, this is to cover up something. We need to report this to the Hokage," Snake said and they disappeared in an instant.

## Thousand Hands Mansion ##

Naruto slept peacefully beside Hinata, and Tsunade and Jiraiya also became much quieter. But this peace did not last long.

"Naruto, Hinata!" An urgent voice echoed throughout the building.

Naruto woke up with a start, and Hinata jumped up as well. He rubbed his eyes and saw Tsunade standing in the doorway.

"Meet me in my office in five minutes," Tsunade said loudly.

Naruto grumbled and complained, he didn't sleep well last night.

"She gave us a few days off and woke us up in the morning," Naruto complained.

"Naruto-kun, if she called us, it must be something important." Hinata said softly, kissing his cheek and then went into the bathroom. Naruto sighed and used his shadow clone to quickly prepare breakfast.

In less than five minutes, Naruto and Hinata were ready. Naruto hugged Hinata and quickly went to the Hokage's office.

## Hokage's Office ##

Sitting next to Tsunade was Hiruzen.

Shikamaru, Ino, Choji, and Kiba were all there, but Sakura and Sasuke were nowhere to be seen.

About five minutes later, Naruto and Hinata suddenly appeared in the middle of the office.

"I have bad news... Sakura is dead." Tsunade said. The air suddenly became quiet.

"What?" Ya asked softly, breaking the silence.

"It's true...Sakura was murdered last night," Tsunade said and everyone was shocked.

"Impossible," Ino cried, "Who would hurt her?" She grabbed Hinata beside her, tears streaming down her face.

"We don't know yet," Tsunade said, then turned to Naruto, who raised an eyebrow. "That's why I called you here, Naruto. Can you please rewind time to yesterday?"

"I can only go back twelve seconds at most..." Naruto shook his head.

"Then we have no choice," Tsunade said, picking up a vial and throwing it to Naruto.

"What is this?" Naruto examined the vial carefully.

Tsunade just nodded.

Naruto looked at his friends.

"Do you think they can handle it?" Naruto asked.

"We have no choice, let's get started." Tsunade said firmly. Naruto nodded.

"Everyone stand back," Naruto said, then he pulled out a scroll and began writing on it.

"What are you doing?" Ya asked in confusion.

"He's going to bring her back temporarily so she can tell us who killed her," Hinata explained, surprising everyone.

'How strong are you?' Kiba thought to himself, watching Naruto concentrate on writing.

" Shadow Clone Jutsu! " Naruto shouted, creating a shadow clone.

The clone walked over to a circle in the center of the scroll and sat down. Naruto dropped a few drops of Sakura's blood onto the scroll and began to make hand seals.

"Necromanticism: Reincarnation from the Dirty Earth!"

The surrounding leaves began to climb up the clone's body, completely covering it. Slowly, the clone's blonde hair turned pink, and its deep blue eyes turned green. Within seconds, Haruno Sakura returned to this world.

"Where am I?" Sakura asked in a daze, then she remembered something, "Sasuke!" Sakura shouted.

Everyone's eyes widened.

"So it was him." Naruto said sadly.

"Sakura," Tsunade said, "tell us what happened."

Sakura nodded slowly.

"Of course," Sakura gathered her thoughts, "I was walking in the village last night. It was late and quiet. I was just about to go home when I ran into Sasuke. He had a backpack on his back and was walking towards the gate... He wanted to leave the village."

Everyone was surprised except Naruto, who had always thought it would end up like this.

"I asked him to stay, but he didn't listen," Sakura replied through sobs, "He suddenly appeared behind me and slit my throat."

Everyone was shocked by this cruel act.

"I don't understand why he did this, our relationship has been improving." Sakura continued, and Ino quickly ran up to hug her. This might be the last time they were together.

"Maybe..." Naruto pondered, then turned to Kiba, "Kiba, are Sasuke and Sakura close?"

"What does this have to do with anything?" Ya asked in confusion.

"Answer my question," Naruto said seriously and Kiba nodded quickly.

"I noticed a few things," Kiba began, "He helps her with training, answers her questions instead of just giving the cold shoulder, and other little things," Kiba explained and Naruto frowned.

"Damn it." Naruto rubbed his temple. "I told you guys this would happen."

He turned to the Sandaime Hokage, who sighed.

"Do you know why he did that?" Sakura asked and Naruto nodded.

"He killed you so that he could upgrade his eyes to the next level." Naruto explained, but everyone looked confused.

"You know very little about the Sharingan. You think the strongest is the Three Magatama Sharingan, but that is wrong." Naruto began to explain, "There is another level called the Mangekyō Sharingan, which makes the holder extremely powerful in genjutsu and ninjutsu. Look at mine." Naruto displayed his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.

Everyone was shocked, they never knew there was another stage to the Sharingan.

"To put it simply, there are two ways for the Uchiha to obtain the Mangekyō Sharingan. Either by going through a life-or-death situation, or by killing someone they care about," Naruto explained, shocking everyone.

"Sasuke needed to kill someone he cared about in order to reach the next level. When he felt the pain and regret of killing that special person, it triggered a reaction that unlocked his eyes." Naruto explained and everyone frowned, especially the old Hokage. Naruto had warned him that this could happen.
