【One Piece】Dawn in the Darkness

"Okay." Sanji forgave Luffy for leaving food because he got up early this morning and asked him for food, which made him happy that Luffy finally seemed to be okay.

Luffy walked towards the deck and he could see Kei sitting on the railing, fishing.

"Hey, Luffy, how are you feeling today?" Qi could see that Luffy was in much better condition than yesterday, and his face was not as tired as yesterday, except that his cheeks seemed a little red.

"Hey, Qi." Luffy smiled and wanted to walk towards Qi, but the next moment he suddenly felt dizzy and wanted to grab the railing in front of him, but the scene around him suddenly became blurred. He vaguely saw that Qi seemed to be shouting something at him anxiously. He opened his mouth to tell him that he was fine.

"Luffy!!" Qi saw Luffy's body staggering towards the railing. He grabbed him a second before Luffy fell into the sea. He noticed that Luffy's body was as hot as a furnace.

"What's wrong!?" Sanji rushed out of the kitchen quickly, followed by several people who had just woken up from their sleep.

"His body is hot!" Qi shouted worriedly.

"Bring him in!" Nami said, letting Qi carry Luffy to their bed.

"Does he have a fever?" Weiwei said. "We need a thermometer!"

"Here it comes." Usopp quickly handed the thermometer that he had prepared long ago to Vivi.

They watched as Vivi put the thermometer into Luffy's mouth, and the next second the mercury in the thermometer rose to the highest point at an extremely fast speed.

"Should we help cool him down?" Sanji asked anxiously as he looked at the mercury that was rising higher and higher.

"That's right, Usopp, go get a basin of cold water." Nami instructed, "and a towel."

"Luffy, why do you have a fever?" Qi looked at Luffy's red cheeks and heavy breathing worriedly.

"It may be due to climate change. Many sailors fell ill due to the abnormal weather on the Grand Route." Weiwei explained.

"But that's impossible, that's Luffy." Qi retorted, Luffy couldn't be sick because of the weather, there must be other reasons "We need to see a doctor."

"Has Luffy's body temperature always been high?" Usopp asked hopefully, looking at the thermometer that had begun to expand. He hoped that Luffy's temperature was normal.

"But even for Luffy, this temperature is too high!" Qi retorted angrily, and then quickly took away the thermometer that was about to explode.

"Everyone, there's no need to argue. We all hope this is a normal fever." Nami soaked the towel brought by Usopp and gently placed it on Luffy's forehead, but the next second the towel...dry. Nami looked at this scene and shouted in panic, "Everyone, this is not normal, we need a doctor!"

"What's wrong with Luffy?" Zoro looked at Nami's panicked appearance. She kept trying to wet the dry towel and put it on Luffy's head again, but the towel dried quickly. He suddenly realized the seriousness of the matter.

"If Luffy's temperature doesn't go down, we might lose... him!" Nami covered her face and said in a trembling voice.

"What!?" everyone shouted in horror.

"You have to be kidding, Miss Nami?" Sanji asked in disbelief.

"Luffy can't be dead," Zoro retorted immediately.

"How far are we from Alabasta?" Qi calmed down after hearing the news and asked calmly, even though he was on the verge of panic.

"There's no way we can get there within a week." Weiwei said, biting her lip.

"Nami, find the nearest island and we'll go there to find a doctor." Qi announced. He couldn't possibly gamble on whether Luffy's body could survive a week. He had to make sure Luffy was okay.

"I understand." Nami handed the towel in her hand to Vivi, then walked to the deck with the blueprint. She wanted to make the ship reach the nearest island as quickly as possible.

"Hey, everyone! I saw the island!" Usopp said excitedly to the people on the deck from the observation deck. They had a long day, and everyone was very impatient since yesterday because Luffy's temperature had been rising since last night.

"Great, we're finally here." Nami looked out from the railing in her cotton coat. She could see a completely snow-white island gradually approaching them. If Luffy hadn't been sick, he would have been extremely excited when he saw this island.

"This is a snow island." Weiwei looked at the mountain range that looked like barrels. "That island should be Magnetic Drum Island. It's an island famous for its medical treatment. There should be a doctor on the island."

"That's a waterfall formed by the melted snow on the mountain. We should be able to stop the boat there." Zoro said, looking at the bay ahead. Just as he was about to stop the boat, a serious voice warned them and asked them to leave.

"We are here to find a doctor!" Sanji explained, looking at the townspeople on both sides of the shore who were holding guns.

"Judging from their expressions, the atmosphere seems very tense." Usopp said worriedly.

"Get out of here right now!" The person who had just asked them to leave continued to warn them seriously, "This is our island. Pirates are not allowed to come to the island. If you don't leave, we will sink your ship."

"They seem to hate pirates." Sanji gritted his teeth.

"Why don't you let us go to the island? We are just looking for a doctor. Our companion is sick." Nami tried to explain.

"Stop talking nonsense!" One of them suddenly opened fire at the deck. Because it was a warning, no one was injured, but Sanji was still very angry because they were delaying Luffy's treatment.

"Very good!" Sanji said gloomily and was about to attack the man who shot, but Vivi and Nami stopped him.

"Now is not the time to fight, we must find a doctor first." Nami said as she stood in front of Sanji, causing the bullet that was shot at Sanji before to grazed Nami's arm.

"Nami!!" everyone shouted in shock.

At this moment, Qi, who had been taking care of Luffy in the cabin, came out. He looked at the scene on the deck in surprise. Nami fell on the deck, covering her arm. Usopp and Zoro showed their weapons and pointed them at the villagers standing on the shore. Vivi stopped Sanji who was about to rush out. "What's going on?"

"Don't worry about me, it's just a scratch on my arm." Nami stood up and said, "We can't fight with them, we have to find a doctor for Luffy first."

"Please, we promise not to go ashore. We just want a doctor." Nami turned to look at the townspeople on the shore and begged.

Qi understood after listening to their conversation that the people on the island were afraid that they would pose a threat and were unwilling to let them go to the island.
