Chapter 68 Stone Skin Lizard

Ed was a little tired. These bipedal monsters were really stingy. A one in five probability should be not low, but not a single bipedal monster was petrified.

What bothered Ed the most was the two-legged monster that cast fire spells. After seeing that his magic resistance was not low, he actually took out a long piece of metal and kept stabbing him.

"Do you think I'm Juanzi? Won't it hurt?" Ed cursed in annoyance.

Colin and the others could not hear Ed's thoughts. Only magical beasts above level one were qualified to communicate with wizards. No one would pay much attention to those below level one, and they did not have the time to figure out what Ed was saying. They only heard the "hissing" sound of the stone-skinned lizard.

"Try harder, I feel like this lizard is running out of strength." Colin shouted when he saw that the intervals between Ed's casting of the Petrifying Gaze spell were getting longer and longer.

After trying several spells, Colin and the other three felt that spells could not effectively harm Ed, so they took out their usual weapons.

Colin and Conrad had switched to broadswords, leaving bloody marks on Ed's body from time to time.

Connie worked part-time as a ranger, and her good archery skills allowed her to hit Ed several times with arrows, but the arrows did not penetrate deep and were not fatal.

What was surprising was Banta. His weapon looked like a magic wand, but it was actually made of metal. He just used the magic wand as a hammer.

Ed's tail swept across several times but didn't get any smaller. He opened his mouth several times to try to bite a two-legged monster, but to no avail. His magic couldn't petrify them, so he decided to run away.

That damn two-legged monster had been casting some spell, and the swamp beneath him showed no sign of softening. Ed watched closely with his eyes, watching for a suitable place for him to escape.

"This guy is trying to escape." Colin found that Ed's attack had weakened a lot.

Helen also began to release water arrows, but it could only hurt Ed, and the effect was not very strong. Instead, Connie's archery caused more damage.

Marcus was preparing a new spell, while Colin and others continued to bleed Ed.

Feeling something was wrong, Ed turned around and ran away. When he turned around, he was hit by Marcus' spell, the earth wall.

"I&"

Ed directly knocked a big hole in the earth wall, and he went through it. However, this took a lot of time, as there were another earth wall in front of him.

"I can't beat him, and I can't run away. Am I going to die here today?" Ed thought with a rough breath.

"What on earth do you want to do? What do you want? Can you just draw some lines on it? Uncle Ed is scared." Ed resisted helplessly.

Colin and the others had no idea what Ed was talking about and were still firing at him. When Ed had half given up resisting, the effect of concentrating fire on the boss came into play and Ed was eventually knocked to the ground without a sound.

Until his death, Ed never closed his eyes.

"Is this eyeball so powerful?" Colin said while holding the eyeball after digging out Ed's eyes.

"Who knows? But this guy is unlucky today. He hasn't shown the petrification effect. Otherwise, it would be difficult for us to deal with him." Conrad said.

"It's all thanks to Marcus. Earth magic is indeed unique." Connie said.

Colin also has an affinity with the earth element, so it seems that he can't just focus on attacking spells, some other spells can also produce good effects.

The mission was completed relatively smoothly. A few people felt reluctant to go back like this, so after discussion, they decided to stay in the wetland swamp for a few more days to explore and see what they could gain.

Colin and his friends brought food with them, so it would be fine for them to stay a few more days. Besides, there were still a lot of animals in the swamp, so they didn't have to worry about food at all.

After a brief rest, Colin and six others headed deeper into the swamp.

……

There were no suspicious creatures within sight. Colin and his six companions picked some plants unique to the swamp, aiming to make sure they did not come back empty-handed.

Marcus, the new member of the team, was quite talkative and had harmonious conversations with a few people. However, Banta was a bit taciturn. Although he was called a wizard, he actually looked more like a knight with a rather burly figure. The magic wand in his hand was almost like a sledgehammer.

"whoosh, whoosh, whoosh"

As the group was walking, several arrows were suddenly shot at them.

The few who were not novices quickly switched to combat mode.

"In that direction." Conrad was the first to discover where the enemy came from.

A few people looked over there and saw another group of humanoid creatures. Although they were walking upright, looking at their heads, they looked a bit like the stone-skinned lizard that had just fallen to the ground.

"It's a lizardman hunter." said Helen, who has read many books.

"Yeah, a bit like that. These guys are pretty good at shooting, everyone be careful." Connie seemed to understand a little bit as well.

Marcus began to cast petrifying skin spells on his teammates, and Colin and others also began to cast offensive spells.

Connie didn't rush to cast spells, but continued to shoot at the opponent with a bow and arrow.

The lizardman hunter on the opposite side is good at archery, but due to material limitations, the arrows he shoots are all sharpened wooden arrows, which do not have much direct killing power. However, looking at the black part on the arrowhead, it should be coated with some poison.

The arrows in Connie's quiver are all iron arrows. As long as they hit a lizardman hunter, they will definitely be effective. These lizardman hunters do not have the defense of stone-skinned lizards.

The magical attacks of Colin and others also began to show their power. Even Helen's water arrows injured the lizardman hunters.

Soon, with the concerted efforts of several people, this small team of more than 20 lizardman hunters were completely wiped out.

"I told you to launch a sneak attack, and you still want to launch a sneak attack with your limited strength." Connie said as she stepped on the corpse of a lizardman hunter.

"Ha, this is a typical case of trying to be cool but getting criticized." Colin thought as he looked at Connie's expression.

Colin picked up the bows of these lizardman hunters and took a look. They should be made of some animal tendons and are quite tough. The rest of the bows are of little value. The bowstrings can be removed.

After fighting for most of the day, the men were a little tired. After Marcus set up a few warning signs, they each took out the food they had brought and started eating and drinking.

After two battles, the few of them had tested what they had learned. There were no major problems with the basic application of spells, but there was still some gap in proficiency.

Through these two battles, Colin also collected the physical data of the other five people. Roughly speaking, he was qualified as a mid-level wizard apprentice, and several indicators were better than others.

Colin's strongest indicator comes from mental strength, which has reached 9.6. Helen was promoted to an intermediate wizard apprentice earlier than him, but her score is only 9.2. The highest score of others is less than 9 points.

The Earth has never measured the luck value, and this value cannot be seen on other people. However, judging from the results of today's battle, it should be quite good. After all, he has withstood the petrifying gaze of the stone-skinned lizard several times, but the petrification effect has not been triggered. I guess it must be luck that is at work.
