Chapter 136 Shallow

Zhou Wanwan was sitting in her small jewelry store, her fingers gently stroking a sapphire, imagining how it would look inlaid on a bracelet. At this moment, the phone suddenly rang, breaking the silence.

"Hello, Wanwan, it's me, Qianqian." The voice of my best friend Qianqian came from the other end of the phone. Her voice is always so energetic.

"Qianqian, what's wrong?" Zhou Wanwan answered the phone with a hint of fatigue in her tone.

"I have a big client who wants a bracelet with Van Gogh's "Starry Night" as the theme. Can you design it for me?" There was anticipation in Qianqian's tone.

Zhou Wanwan was stunned for a moment. She knew that "Starry Night" was one of Van Gogh's masterpieces. The starry sky in the painting was full of mystery and fantasy, but it was imaginable how difficult it would be to transform it into jewelry design.

"Qianqian, do you know how difficult this is?" Zhou Wanwan sighed, "I'm afraid I can't do it well."

"Wanwan, you are the most talented jewelry designer here. I believe you can do it." Qianqian encouraged, "Besides, this customer is willing to pay a high price. This is a great opportunity for your store."

Zhou Wanwan was silent for a while. She knew Qianqian was right. This was indeed a rare opportunity. She took a deep breath and decided to accept the challenge.

"Okay, I'll try." Zhou Wanwan finally agreed.

In the next few days, Zhou Wanwan devoted almost all her time to this design. She read a lot of materials and tried to find inspiration from Van Gogh's paintings. She tried various materials and techniques, but always felt that something was missing.

Just when she was about to give up, Qianqian called again.

"Wanwan, how are you?" There was concern in her voice.

"Qianqian, I... I can't seem to find the feeling." There was frustration in Zhou Wanwan's voice.

"Wanwan, don't worry, take your time." Qianqian comforted, "I believe you will find it."

After hanging up the phone, Zhou Wanwan decided to go out for a walk, maybe a change of environment would allow her to find new inspiration. She strolled along the street, watching the pedestrians on the street, listening to the music on the street, and feeling the hustle and bustle of the city.

Suddenly, she saw a gallery, and in the window of the gallery was displaying a copy of Van Gogh's "Starry Night". She walked into the gallery, stood in front of the painting, and carefully observed every detail. She found that Van Gogh's starry sky was not simply blue and white, but full of layers and changes. The rotating nebulae and twinkling stars seemed to be telling something.

Zhou Wanwan suddenly had an inspiration. She decided to use the layers and colors of gemstones to express the depth and mystery of the starry sky. She returned to the store and began to try new designs. She chose dark blue sapphires as the main color of the starry sky, used white diamonds to express the twinkling of the stars, and finally used gold metal to outline the contours of the nebula.

Zhou Wanwan sat at the workbench, holding a fine paintbrush in her hand, carefully sketching on a design. Her eyes were focused and determined, as if the whole world was concentrated on that piece of paper. Her fingers trembled slightly, and every stroke of the pen seemed particularly cautious.

"Wanwan, you look nervous." Qianqian's voice suddenly came from the door. She was holding a cup of coffee in her hand and gently placed it on Zhou Wanwan's workbench.

Zhou Wanwan looked up and gave a forced smile, "Qianqian, I'm really nervous. This design is too important to me."

Qianqian sat opposite her and patted her hands gently. "I know, but you've done a good job. Believe in yourself, you can do it."

Zhou Wanwan took a deep breath and nodded, "Thank you, Qianqian. I will do my best."

In the next few hours, Zhou Wanwan almost forgot the passage of time. She was immersed in her own world, and every modification and adjustment brought her one step closer to perfection. It was not until night fell that she realized that she had worked for a whole day.

She stood up, stretched, and prepared to eat something. Just then, her cell phone rang. It was Qianqian calling.

"Wanwan, the client just contacted me. He wants to see the design drawings tomorrow." There was a hint of anxiety in Qianqian's voice.

Zhou Wanwan was stunned for a moment. She didn't expect the time to be so tight. "Tomorrow? I... I'm not fully ready yet."

"Wanwan, I know this is very sudden, but the customer is really in a hurry. Can you get out?" Qianqian asked.

Zhou Wanwan was silent for a while. She knew this was a huge challenge, but she didn't want to give up this opportunity. "I will try my best, Qianqian. I will send you the design tomorrow."

After hanging up the phone, Zhou Wanwan immediately got down to work. She decided not to go home tonight and work overtime in the store. She turned on the computer and started making 3D models, trying to perfectly present every detail on the design.

As time passed, Zhou Wanwan's eyes began to feel tired, but she did not stop. She knew that this was her chance to prove herself and she could not give up.

Finally, at three in the morning, she finished the 3D model. She looked at the design on the screen, feeling a sense of accomplishment. She immediately sent the design to Qianqian, then slumped in her chair and breathed a sigh of relief.

The next morning, Qianqian called as promised, "Wanwan, the customer looked at the design and was very satisfied! He decided to place an order immediately!"

When Zhou Wanwan heard the news, she felt relieved. "Really? That's great!"

"Wanwan, you did it!" Qianqian's voice was filled with joy, "I knew you could do it."

Zhou Wanwan smiled, she knew that all the efforts were worth it. She stood up, walked to the window, looked at the outside world, her heart full of hope and dreams.

However, at this moment, her cell phone rang again. It was an unfamiliar number. She hesitated for a moment, but still picked up the phone. "Hello, how are you?"

A man's voice came from the other end of the phone. "Hello, I'm a representative from the Van Gogh Art Foundation. We heard that you designed a bracelet with the theme of "Starry Sky". We are very interested in it."

Zhou Wanwan was stunned. She didn't expect her design would attract such an organization. "Van Gogh Art Foundation? What...what do you want to do?"

“We would like to work with you to market this bracelet as an officially licensed product.” There was a hint of excitement in the man’s voice.

Zhou Wanwan's heartbeat quickened. She knew this was a bigger opportunity and also a bigger challenge. "I...I need to think about it."

"Of course, we look forward to your reply." The man said and hung up the phone.

Zhou Wanwan stood in front of the window, her heart full of excitement and anxiety. She knew that her life was about to usher in a huge turning point, and she needed to make an important decision.

She took a deep breath and decided not to think about it for now. She needed to take a good rest before facing this new challenge. She turned back to the workbench and began to organize her tools, ready for a new start...
