Rocot: Reborn

Chapter 274

The man stood alone in front of the window, looking at the endless night sky, his eyes full of worry and confusion. Rocot was his most trusted partner and his only relative, and he would never allow Rocot to die in such an unclear way.

"Wait for me, Rocot, I will definitely find you and rescue you." The man murmured in a low voice, his tone full of determination.

Inside the glass cabin filled with green liquid, Roccod's body was undergoing earth-shaking changes. His originally strong muscles gradually withered, and his skin became pale and transparent, as fragile as a newborn baby. His consciousness struggled in chaos, and countless images flashed through his mind, pain, despair, anger, and all kinds of negative emotions intertwined, almost swallowing him up.

At this moment, a warm force suddenly surged into his body, dispelling those cold negative emotions and making him feel the long-lost peace. He tried hard to open his eyes, but found that his eyelids seemed to be pressed down by a thousand-pound rock and he couldn't open them.

"Don't be afraid, my child..." A gentle voice sounded in his ears, as if coming from the distant sky, "Go to sleep, and when you wake up, everything will be fine..."

Roccod wanted to ask who the voice was and where he was. However, the warm power was like a lullaby, which gradually relaxed him and he fell asleep again.

After an unknown amount of time, Rocot finally woke up from his deep sleep. He felt sore all over, as if he had been stabbed by countless needles. He tried hard to open his eyes, but found that his vision was blurry and he could not see anything clearly.

"You're awake?" A strange voice sounded beside his ear, with a hint of surprise and curiosity in its tone, "I thought you would continue sleeping."

Roccod struggled to sit up, but found himself firmly fixed on the metal platform, unable to move. He tried to see the person who was speaking, but could only see a blurry figure.

"Who are you?" Rocot asked in a hoarse voice, his tone full of vigilance and uneasiness.

"I am your creator," the figure walked up to Rocot and said with a smile, "and your only hope."

Only then did Roccod see the other person's face clearly. He was a tall, handsome man wearing a black uniform. Under his short black hair, a pair of deep blue eyes sparkled with a strange light.

"Creator? Hope?" Roccod frowned. He had no idea what the other party was talking about. "Who are you? Why did you bring me here?"

"Don't worry, my friend," the man did not answer Roccod's question, but walked to the operating table beside him and pressed a red button, "Soon, you will understand everything."

As the man pressed the button, the metal platform where Rokod was located slowly rose up, bringing him to a huge metal sphere. The surface of the sphere was covered with dense runes, emitting frightening energy fluctuations.

"What is this?" Roccod had an ominous premonition in his heart. He wanted to struggle, but found that he could not move at all.

"This is the Wheel of Fortune," the man said with a smile, "It will determine your future, and... the fate of the entire world."

"What on earth do you want to do?!" Rocot roared. He felt like a lamb to be slaughtered, and could only be manipulated by others.

The man did not answer Rokod's question. He walked to the metal sphere, muttering something, and his hands kept changing various complicated gestures. As he moved, the runes on the metal sphere began to flash with dazzling light, and a powerful energy wave spread out in all directions, and the whole room began to shake violently.

"Stop! Are you crazy?!" Roccod shouted in horror. He didn't know what the man was going to do, but he could feel that a powerful force was awakening, and this force might very well destroy the world!

The man seemed not to have heard Rocot's warning. He continued to chant the spell, and the expression on his face became more and more crazy.

"Come on, Rocot, let us witness together the decision of fate!" the man said with a smile, his voice full of madness and...expectation?

At this moment, a sudden change occurred!

Rokod felt a ringing in his ears, as if a thousand beasts were roaring in his ears. The runes on the metal sphere flashed wildly as if they were boiling, and blue arcs of electricity ran around the room like poisonous snakes looking for prey. The powerful energy fluctuations almost condensed into substance, oppressing every nerve of Rokod.

"Madman! You're a fucking madman!" Rocot screamed, but his voice was drowned out by the deafening roar. He stared at the man, the madman who claimed to be his "creator", with a morbid fanaticism on his face, as if he was welcoming some sacred advent ceremony.

At this moment, the space around the metal sphere began to distort, as if being kneaded by an invisible hand. Roccod saw that in the center of the sphere, where the runes were most densely packed, a black vortex appeared, so deep that it seemed to swallow everything.

"Hahahaha, here it comes! It's coming!" the man shouted excitedly. He turned around and looked at Rocot, with a crazy light flashing in his eyes. "Rocot, are you ready to meet your fate?"

Before Roccod could answer, an irresistible suction force came from the black vortex. He felt his body floating, as if being grabbed by an invisible giant hand and dragged into the bottomless abyss.

"No! Let me go! You lunatic!" Rocco struggled desperately, but it was all in vain. He watched himself getting closer and closer to the black vortex, and fear and despair overwhelmed him like a tide.

"Goodbye, Rocot. Or, farewell forever." The man's voice came from a distance, with a hint of teasing and mockery.

The next second, Roccod was sucked into the black vortex and disappeared without a trace. The roar in the room stopped abruptly, and the runes on the metal sphere stopped flashing. Everything returned to calm, as if nothing had happened.

Only that man was still standing there, quietly looking at the place where the black vortex disappeared, with an intriguing smile on the corner of his mouth.

"The game has just begun, my friend." He whispered to himself, with an inexplicable light flashing in his eyes.

……

"Warning! Warning! Abnormal energy fluctuations detected! Spacetime stability has dropped to a critical value!"

The shrill alarm sounded throughout the control room. The red lights flashed wildly, illuminating the originally cold metal walls with a blood-red glow.

"What's going on?!" A woman in a white uniform rushed into the control room and asked anxiously, "Report the situation!"

"Dr. Li, the space-time tunnel is experiencing abnormal fluctuations, and the energy output is beyond our control!" A young researcher shouted in panic, "The system is collapsing! We must stop the experiment immediately!"

The woman called Dr. Li's face turned pale. She quickly walked to the control console and looked at the data jumping on the screen with a frown.

"Can you determine the cause of the abnormality?" she asked in a deep voice.

"It's hard to be sure at this time, Doctor," another researcher replied, "but based on the analysis of the energy fluctuation characteristics, this energy..."

Before he could finish, he was interrupted by Dr. Li.

"This energy is related to 'him', right?" Dr. Li's voice was terribly low, as if it came from the depths of hell.

The researchers looked at each other, no one dared to speak. They all knew who the "he" Dr. Li was talking about was. It was a taboo, a nightmare, and a terrifying existence that they never wanted to mention again.

"Immediately activate the emergency plan and close the space-time tunnel!" Dr. Li gave the order decisively, with a hint of undisguised fear in his voice, "Quick!"

The researchers did not dare to neglect and started to operate various instruments and equipment. However, at this moment, the door of the control room was suddenly knocked open by a huge force, and a man covered in blood staggered in.

"No... don't... close it..." The man said hoarsely with his last bit of strength, his eyes filled with fear and... pleading?

"Who...are you?!" Dr. Li looked at the man warily and asked.

The man raised his head, revealing a familiar yet unfamiliar face. He forced a bitter smile and said in a weak voice:

"It's me...Lockold..."
