Rocot: Reborn
Chapter 40
"Do you think you still have a chance? Rocot, you were too obsessed with the power of darkness in your previous life, weren't you? How can you be any different now!" The voice was sharp and full of sarcasm. It belonged to Tam, the former friend and current traitor.
Roccod shook his head gently. He touched the complex runes on the scroll. Each rune seemed to record an ancient and powerful secret. "You will never understand, Tam. Rebirth is not always for revenge. Sometimes, it also represents a new beginning."
Tam sneered, quickened his pace, and the energy sword in his hand began to whistle, ready for a fight. "A new beginning? You are just making excuses for your dark deeds. I am here today to stop you from making the same mistake again!"
During the conversation, the scroll in front of Roccod suddenly emitted a dazzling light, and the runes were like activated flames, with rays of light interweaving in between, forming a huge light net that surrounded the two of them. Roccod knew that this was the power of the scroll that began to guide him into the unknown and dangerous journey of solving puzzles.
"It seems that this scroll is more powerful than I thought." There was a hint of ecstasy in Rocot's low voice, and there was a light flashing in his eyes. On the other hand, Tam was shocked and uneasy.
Just as Tam tried to retreat, Rocot had already begun chanting the ancient spell. The power of the scroll surged like a tide, and twisted shadows appeared around Rocot, like dancing flames or devils in a cage, eager to break free.
"You are too confident, Tam! Take a look at the core of this world and experience the true power!" The smile on Rocot's mouth became more and more obvious. As he waved his hands, the last chapter of the spell slowly unfolded, and the secret in the center of the scroll was about to be revealed.
At this moment, a deafening thunder suddenly came from the horizon, dark clouds rolled, and a mysterious and powerful force was slowly approaching, breaking the tranquility of the night.
The night was like an abyss, bottomless. In the darkness, a deserted tower stood on the misty plain, with a faint eerie light. Rocot walked through the empty corridor with firm and heavy steps. In the silence, only his footsteps and slight breathing echoed each other.
"We are finally here. This is the legendary forbidden place." Roccod's eyes were as sharp as an eagle. The darkness before him did not seem to block his sight. "It is said that the scroll is hidden on the top floor of this tower."
With each staircase he climbed, the uneasiness in the air intensified, as if countless eyes were watching him from behind, waiting for the chance to devour him. However, Roccod's pace did not change at all, and there was nothing in his heart but determination.
"Oh, the monarch of the Shadow Kingdom is so persistent even after death." A voice as faint as the distant wind suddenly sounded, causing Rokod to pause.
He slowly turned around, his eyes sharp as torches, searching in the darkness for the owner of the voice. At this moment, a faint blue light flashed and condensed into a vague human figure.
"Who are you? Why are you stopping me?" There was unquestionable majesty in Rocot's tone, which was the unique temperament of a monarch.
"Me? I am just a speck of dust in this tower, a trace of echo." The humanoid voice was erratic. "I have been here for so long that I have forgotten my own name. I only remember that every creature that came here was for that scroll." His voice gradually became low. "But you must know that it is not an ordinary item. It can determine the future order, and even... life and death."
"Life and death..." Roccod repeated these two words, and something seemed to be gently touched in his heart. However, he quickly suppressed the fluctuations in his heart, "No matter what the cost, I must get the scroll."
The human figure seemed to smile slightly, "It seems that you have made up your mind. Then, the final test awaits you, Rocot. If all goes well, we may meet again." As soon as the voice fell, the dark blue figure disappeared into the darkness like smoke.
Rocot continued to climb, his steps more determined. As he approached the top of the tower, the air around him suddenly became oppressive, and an indescribable force made it almost impossible for him to move forward. But the light shining in his eyes became more and more blazing, it was a desire for the unknown, a pursuit of power, and an unyielding determination to face fate.
At this moment, an ancient door slowly opened, and through the gap, Rocot saw the shining scroll in the center of the room...
Roccod clenched his fists, as if to suppress his boiling emotions. He tried to steady his pace, and walked slowly but resolutely towards the broken ancient gate.
Through the crack in the door, he clearly saw the shining scroll lying on an ancient stone platform, surrounded by countless strange totems and carvings. A powerful and mysterious force emanated from it, making people feel fearful, but unable to suppress their desire to explore.
"Is that the scroll that determines the future order and controls life and death?" Rocot whispered. That mysterious and ancient power was enough to shock all creatures in the world, even him.
Rocot took a deep breath, and a resolute look appeared on his face as he looked at the scroll on the stone platform that seemed to be unreachable. "No matter how harsh the road ahead is, I will move forward bravely, because I, Rocot, swear to hold my own destiny in my own hands."
At this moment, the scroll seemed to respond to Rocot's oath. The bright light suddenly became magnificent, like the brightest star in the night sky. It hung in the air, radiating a mysterious and strange power, like a great magician who controlled time and space.
Then, a powerful force emanated from the center of the scroll and rushed towards Rokod. He felt a burning sensation all over his body, as if a burning fire was surging in his body, causing him to fall into painful torture.
He grabbed his chest, frowning, but at this moment, his eyes were more determined than ever. "This is just a test. I won't be defeated by him."
He took one step forward, each step was painful, and finally, he landed on one knee with difficulty, steadied his body, then staggered to his feet and continued to move forward. He must get the scroll, no matter what the cost.
However, at this moment, a dark shadow flashed in a corner.
Roccod was shocked, it turned out that he was not alone here.
A stronger force suddenly attacked, and Rocot was caught off guard, and flew backwards. At this time, despite fighting the darkness, he still looked calm, on the verge of tone-deafness, but still as resolute as ever. He covered his abdomen, and a trace of blood oozed from the corner of his mouth.
However, before he fell, he fixed his eyes on the scroll in front of him. Flying up, Rocot had no choice but to move forward, hoping to find the last hope in the darkness...
The other party obviously did not intend to give in. He raised his weapon and rushed towards Lokod without hesitation.
