Harry Potter and the Rebirth
Chapter 136: Being Recruited
"Has the guest I met arrived yet?"
The old man paused while wiping the cup, then lowered his head and continued with his work, completely ignoring Dumbledore's questions, as if there was no such person in front of him.
"Oh - then it seems we have arrived." The old man still didn't answer, but Dumbledore was not angry. He sighed heavily and then walked towards the stairs.
"Are you dying?"
The old man's sudden words reached Dumbledore's ears, and he stopped going up the stairs. "Maybe..." No one heard the whisper, and his tiny voice was diluted and disappeared as soon as it entered the air.
Aberforth put down his cup heavily, threw away the rag, and started to chase the guests away.
"Let's go, let's go, we're closed today, the boss is going to sleep."
"What a nerve, that's it, that's it."
"If it weren't for the cheap price, who would like to come here to drink? The dirt on the windows must have accumulated for hundreds of years, and they don't even wipe it off."
"Get out! Come if you want or not, forget it if you don't want to." Aberforth pushed and drove everyone out, then closed the door heavily and locked it.
He sat down on a random chair nearby with a hunched back, and suddenly became much shorter.
Upstairs, Dumbledore came to a room and knocked on the door. A young man's voice came out from inside, "Come in."
Dumbledore pushed the door open and the person inside was none other than Jerlan.
Jerran seemed a little reserved at the moment. He immediately left the bed where he was sitting and stood in front of Dumbledore, his hands nervously crossed.
When he was in school, Dumbledore was already the headmaster, but they didn't have much interaction and only met each other a few times from school to graduation.
Jerlan was from Hufflepuff, and he thoroughly implemented Hufflepuff's principles of peace and non-competition. Coupled with his mediocre magical abilities, he had a great time for seven years.
Now suddenly meeting the principal from his student days, Jie Lan looked at the best set of clothes he had taken out, and the thread ends on the cuffs were exposed. The black thread ends were particularly conspicuous against the white fabric.
"Oh, child - don't be nervous. I heard from Lupin that you have something important to tell me. It has to do with Muggles."
As soon as Dumbledore opened his mouth, the distance between him and Jerran was instantly shortened. It had been a long time since anyone had called him that. In Knockturn Alley, every day was filled with intrigue and bloodshed, with people fighting for a few resources.
Now, Jerran himself seemed to have returned to those carefree days at Hogwarts.
"Yes, yes." Jie Lan was a little nervous. The pet in his sleeve also felt this nervous mood. A lizard-like thing came out with small bumps on both sides, like wings.
The lizard crawled up to Jelan's neck and licked him twice, expressing its concern for him in this way.
Dumbledore was very interested. In all his years of life, this was the first time he had seen such a creature that was so spiritual and could comfort people.
"An old friend of mine would certainly be very interested in this little fellow," Dumbledore said.
Jellann smiled shyly.
"I, I'm in Knockturn Alley," Jerran raised his eyes carefully, and when he saw that there was no disgust in Dumbledore's eyes, he mustered up his courage and continued speaking.
"There is a group of people who keep looking for me." Jie Lan was a little puzzled. "It seems that they are doing - and then doing some -" Jie Lan frowned and was very disgusted when he thought of this.
"Sorry, kid, what are you talking about?" Dumbledore's eyes were even more confused. Jerry opened his mouth and found that his throat was already bloody. Jerry opened his mouth and spat out a mouthful of blood foam, which spilled on the ground, and some of it splashed on Dumbledore's beard.
Oh, child—
Before he fell into coma, Jerlan seemed to hear Dumbledore's voice, but he only felt his eyelids were very heavy, and the only clear thought was thinking about the current situation.
Everything suddenly became clear to him. No wonder, no wonder, no wonder he was able to escape. Even though he knew such a big secret, he didn't kill himself. In the morning, he sent someone to make a proper disturbance so that he could meet Dumbledore smoothly.
Is it a declaration of war, or?
After he fell to the ground, Dumbledore also felt dizzy, and the blood foam that spurted out penetrated his beard and robes and settled directly on his chest.
Dumbledore never imagined that someone would cast such an evil curse, using the human body as a carrier and its vitality as the driving force of the curse. Fortunately, Dumbledore was prepared, and most of the blood was stained on the floor. He looked at several large holes that suddenly appeared below, and met the eyes of Aberforth who was looking up.
"Hi, have you had lunch?"
Aberforth rushed up and violently pushed open the wooden door. He saw a young man with blood all over his chest lying underneath, and Dumbledore who looked tired, panting, and extremely weak.
"What? You killed someone." Aberforth said coldly, without any intention of extending his wand to heal his brother.
"Do you need me to go to the Ministry of Magic? I can take you to Azkaban for free."
Dumbledore sat down on the bed and leaned against the wall.
"Please help the young man up, and be careful not to touch the blood. Go to Hogwarts again and call Snape and Madam Pomfrey over. Ask them to prepare the herbs for treatment. Don't let too many people know about this."
"Why don't you use your Phoenix?"
Dumbledore responded in silence. He adjusted his beard, raised it into the air, and looked at Aberforth with his eyes fixed on the large burnt hole.
"You look so small here."
"It's really sick."
After Aberforth said this, he turned and left. Dumbledore closed his eyes tiredly, and gently raised the hand holding the Elder Wand, but found that he could not lift it.
"How careless."
Grindelwald, who was far away in Europe, suddenly felt a panic that he was about to lose the whole world. He sat on the chair, looking at his subordinates who were arguing endlessly, and his palpitations became more severe.
"Rosier," Grindelwald stretched out his finger towards the beautiful and elegant witch. Rosier approached with a fanatical look on her face, "Master, what do you want?"
"I still have to go to Hogwarts. You preside over their meeting here. The infiltration of the German Ministry of Magic should be accelerated. The French Ministry of Magic should also begin preparations."
There was a flash of disappointment in Rosier's eyes. She understood what it meant for her master to go to Hogwarts. But she already knew it, didn't she?
The passage of time did not leave any trace on her beautiful face. Grindelwald disappeared from the spot all of a sudden. Everyone present was silent for a moment. Rosier sat in Grindelwald's seat with a serious expression and a sharp tone, "What are you still standing there for? We must come up with a plan before the sun sets this afternoon."
