I'm a hero in Marvel

Chapter 119 The hidden truth

The atmosphere in the conference room of SHIELD headquarters was extremely tense. SHIELD's senior staff sat at the conference table. Nick Fury sat at the head seat with a serious expression. His single eye looked particularly sharp under the dim light. Natasha Romanoff leaned back in her chair, crossed her arms over her chest, and glanced at everyone present from time to time. Clint Barton stood by the window, looking thoughtfully at the night view outside.

"We need to discuss the latest intelligence," Fury began, his voice deep and powerful. "Captain Rogers, what have you discovered?"

Steve Rogers sat at one end of the table with a complicated expression on his face. He knew that the next topic would cause a huge stir, but he had to say it.

"I discovered some secret history about the founding of SHIELD," Rogers said, his voice firm but with a hint of hesitation, "Howard Stark's purpose in establishing SHIELD was not just to protect the world."

Everyone present exchanged surprised looks. Tony Stark's eyes widened, obviously unaware of his father's secret.

"What are you talking about, Rogers?" Tony couldn't help but ask, his tone full of questioning and uneasiness.

"Howard Stark established S.H.I.E.L.D. to fight against an organization called the Brotherhood of the Shield," Rogers continued. "The existence of this organization was deliberately concealed, and their goals are completely different from ours."

"The Brotherhood of the Holy Shield?" Natasha frowned. "I have never heard of this organization."

"I only discovered this during my recent investigation," Rogers explained. "Members of this organization are scattered all over the world. Their goal is to use advanced technology and ancient magic to control the world."

"That sounds like a fairy tale," Clint interjected, a hint of skepticism in his tone.

"I know it's hard to believe," Rogers sighed, "but I have proof."

Fury tapped the table with his fingers, signaling for silence. He looked directly at Rogers, as if he wanted to see more secrets from his eyes.

"Keep going," Fury ordered.

"I found some hidden files that detailed the activities of the Brotherhood of Shield and Howard Stark's plans," Rogers said. "These files were hidden deep in the underground database of SHIELD, and only a very few people knew of their existence."

Tony's face became even gloomier and he clenched his fists, seeming to be trying to control his emotions.

"Why didn't you tell us earlier?" Tony demanded, anger and disappointment in his voice.

“I need to confirm the authenticity of this information,” Rogers responded, “and I know it will cause a huge conflict.”

"Conflict?" Natasha sneered, "This is simply a huge conspiracy."

"What are you all discussing here?" A new voice interrupted their conversation. Everyone turned around and saw Maria Hill standing at the door with a serious expression on her face.

"We were discussing some of the hidden history surrounding the founding of SHIELD," Fury replied briefly.

Hill walked into the conference room, closed the door, and walked over to the table.

"I just received some new intelligence," Hill said, "It seems that the Holy Shield Brotherhood has begun to take action."

"What?" Fury stood up suddenly, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes, "Where are they?"

"In Europe, they are searching for an ancient artifact that is said to control time," Hill replied, "We must act now."

"That's why Howard Stark founded S.H.I.E.L.D." Rogers chimed in. "He knew about the existence of these artifacts, and tried to prevent them from falling into the hands of the Brotherhood of Aegis."

"We can't let them succeed," Fury said firmly, "Hill, gather all available agents immediately. We must stop them."

"Understood," Hill nodded, then quickly left the meeting room.

The conference room fell silent again, as everyone digested the information they had just heard. Tony looked at Rogers, his eyes filled with mixed emotions.

"You know what this means to me?" Tony whispered. "I always thought my dad was just a scientist."

"I know it's hard to accept," Rogers said, "but we have to face it."

"Face the reality?" Tony sneered, "Do you know how ridiculous this is? A secret organization, an ancient artifact, these sound like fairy tales."

"But it is real," Rogers said firmly, "We must unite and stop the Brotherhood of the Shield."

“I agree,” Natasha interjected. “No matter how ridiculous the stories are, we can’t ignore the potential threat.”

"Me too," Clint nodded, "We have to take action."

"It is decided, then," Fury said, "We will do our utmost to stop the Brotherhood of the Shield."

After the meeting, Rogers and Tony walked out of the conference room, and the corridor was empty. Tony stopped and turned to face Rogers.

"Do you really believe this?" Tony asked, with a hint of doubt in his tone.

"I believe it," Rogers replied firmly, "because it was Howard Stark's last wish."

Tony was silent for a moment, then sighed.

"Well," he said, "let's go and uncover this secret together."

Rogers nodded, and the two continued to walk forward. At the end of the corridor, it seemed that there was a door waiting for them, leading to an unknown world.

In the underground database of S.H.I.E.L.D., Rogers and Tony stood in front of rows of filing cabinets, flipping through the long-sealed documents. Every page of paper recorded the conspiracy of the Brotherhood of Shield and Howard Stark's secret plan.

"There are too many files. We need more manpower," Tony said, a hint of fatigue in his eyes.

"We will find the truth," Rogers said firmly, "no matter what the cost."

Suddenly, the door of the database was thrown open, and Natasha and Clint walked in.

"We heard you needed help," Natasha said, a hint of a smile on her face.

"Thank you," Rogers said gratefully, "We need to find the key information about the Holy Shield Brotherhood as soon as possible."

"Let's get started then," Clint said, walking over to a filing cabinet and starting looking through the papers.

Time passed quietly in the tense atmosphere, and finally, Natasha found a key document.

"Look at this," she said, handing the document to Rogers, "This contains a detailed list of the members of the Brotherhood of the Shield and their action plans."

Rogers took the document and read every word carefully. His face became more serious.

"We must act immediately," Rogers said, "Their target is an artifact called the 'Eye of Time', which is said to be able to control time."

"It sounds like science fiction," Tony frowned, "but we don't have a choice."

"We have to stop them," Rogers said firmly, "no matter what the cost."

The four quickly left the database and prepared for the upcoming battle. In the command center of S.H.I.E.L.D., Fury was directing all agents to make emergency deployments.

"We have locked down the location of the Holy Shield Brotherhood," Fury said, "Everyone prepare to go."

"Understood," all the agents responded in unison.

Shang Qi broke the silence: "Tony, you have to understand that the cost of the Ark Reactor is too high. Ordinary factories and people simply cannot afford it."

Tony raised his eyebrows, a hint of impatience flashing in his eyes: "I've already said that technology always has a cost. You can't expect us to provide these technologies for free."

Shang Qi took a deep breath and tried to suppress his anger: "I'm not talking about free. I'm talking about reality. Do you know how many small businesses and ordinary families have gone bankrupt because of the initial renovation costs?"

Tony shrugged. "That's their problem, not mine. My job is to develop technology, not solve their financial problems."

Shang Qi clenched his fists so tightly that his knuckles turned white. “Tony, you can’t be so cold-blooded. We need to find a more feasible solution so that more people can afford this technology.”

Just then, the door opened and Peter Parker walked in with an anxious look on his face, "Sorry, I'm late. What happened?"

Shang Qi turned to look at Peter, a glimmer of hope in his eyes: "Peter, maybe you can help convince Tony. We are discussing the cost of the Ark reactor."

Peter frowned and walked over to Shang Qi and sat down: "Tony, Shang Qi is right. We can't ignore the needs of ordinary people. Is it possible to reduce costs and benefit more people?"

Tony sighed, stood up, walked to the window, and looked at the city scene outside: "Peter, you know this is not such a simple matter. The materials and manufacturing process of the Ark Reactor are very complicated, and high costs are inevitable."

Peter's eyes flashed with determination: "But we have to try, right? Maybe we can reduce the cost through mass production or other means."

Tony turned around with a hint of impatience in his eyes: "Do you think I haven't thought about this? I have tried my best, but this is the reality."

Shang Qi stood up, walked up to Tony, and looked him straight in the eye: "Tony, we are not questioning your ability. We just hope you can think about it more and find a compromise."

Tony's face turned gloomy. "I've already said that this is not that simple. If you think you can find a better solution, then go and try it yourself."

Shang Qi's voice became more resolute: "Tony, this is not a battle you have to fight alone. We are all working towards the same goal. Please don't be so stubborn."

Tony sneered: "Stubborn? Maybe. But this is the reality. If you can't accept it, you can only give up."

Peter looked at the confrontation between the two and felt powerless: "Tony, Shang Qi, we can't keep arguing like this. We need to find a way to cooperate."

Tony took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. "Okay, Peter. What do you suggest?"

Peter thought for a while and said slowly: "Maybe we can set up a fund to help small businesses and families who cannot afford the cost of Ark reactor modification. This can alleviate their pressure to a certain extent."

Shang Qi nodded: "This is a good idea. We can unite some powerful companies and institutions to jointly invest in establishing this fund."

Tony's expression softened a little, but still showed a hint of doubt: "Are you sure this will work?"

Peter nodded firmly. "We can at least try. If it can help a few people, it will be worth it."

Shang Qi agreed: “Yes, Tony. We can’t just sit back and do nothing. We have a responsibility to let more people benefit from this technology.”

Tony was silent for a moment, and finally nodded: "Okay, I agree to give it a try. But we need to make a detailed plan to ensure that this fund can operate effectively."

Peter and Shang Qi both smiled with satisfaction: "Thank you, Tony. We will do our best to ensure the success of this plan."
