I'm a hero in Marvel
Chapter 122 Expectations and Visions
Ethan sat in front of the TV, and the screen was playing the latest news reports of the war in Eastern Europe. In the picture, there was smoke everywhere, buildings collapsed in the artillery fire, and soldiers fought hard in the mud. All this confirmed his previous guess: the war was not over, but just a temporary ceasefire, and it would become more intense afterwards.
"Ethan, have you read the news?" Tony's voice came from the door. He walked into the room with a hint of anxiety on his face.
Ethan nodded, his eyes still fixed on the screen. "I saw it, and this is exactly what I was worried about."
Tony sighed and sat down next to Ethan. "You always thought the war would continue, and now it seems you were right. But what can we do?"
Ethan turned his head and looked at Tony, his eyes full of determination. "We can't just stand by and watch, Tony. We have to take action and do everything we can to help those who are suffering."
Tony frowned, looking a little hesitant. "But we are just ordinary people, there is only so much we can do. The government and the military are helpless, what can we do?"
Ethan's voice became more resolute. "Because of this, we can't just sit there and do nothing. We can organize donations, provide material assistance, or even go to help those refugees in person. Every tiny effort may change the fate of some people."
Tony was silent for a moment, with a hint of hesitation in his eyes. "I know you are right, but this requires a lot of courage and determination. We need more people to support us."
Ethan nodded, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. "We can contact some like-minded friends, such as Kate and Lisa, who have always been concerned about these issues. And Mark, who works for an NGO, may be able to give us some advice."
Tony thought for a moment and finally nodded. "Okay, I agree to try it with you. Let's contact them first and see if we can form a small team."
Ethan smiled and patted Tony on the shoulder. "Thank you, Tony. I know this is not easy for you, but this is the most meaningful thing we can do."
A few days later, Ethan and Tony met Kate, Lisa and Mark in a cafe. Everyone sat together and the atmosphere seemed a little tense.
"Ethan, I understand what you said, but what should we do specifically?" Kate asked first, her eyes full of confusion.
Ethan nodded and took out a plan and put it on the table. "This is the plan Tony and I worked out together. First, we need to raise funds, through fundraising events, charity sales, etc. Second, we need to contact some reliable logistics companies to deliver supplies to refugee camps near the war zone."
Lisa frowned, looking a little worried. "All of this requires a lot of resources and manpower. Can we do it?"
Mark thought for a moment and nodded. "I have worked in non-governmental organizations and know some channels and resources. We can contact some international aid organizations and seek their support."
Tony took over the conversation with a firm tone. "We can use social media to mobilize more people to participate. As long as we unite, we can definitely make some changes."
Kate and Lisa looked at each other and finally nodded. "Okay, we're willing to try. Ethan, you're right, every little effort may bring hope."
Ethan showed a relieved smile, with a hint of determination in his eyes. "Thank you for your support. Let's get started now."
In the following weeks, Ethan and his team were busy preparing for the fundraising event. They contacted local businesses and schools to mobilize more people to participate. On social media, their appeal received a wide response, and more and more people joined them.
One night, Ethan and Tony were sorting donations in the office, while Kate and Lisa were counting the donations.
"Ethan, do you think these supplies can really help the refugees?" Tony asked as he sorted them out, with a hint of worry in his tone.
Ethan stopped what he was doing and looked at Tony firmly. "Every piece of material represents a hope. Maybe we can't change the entire war situation, but we can keep some people alive and bring them a little warmth."
Kate nodded, a touch of emotion flashing in her eyes. "Ethan is right, everything we do is meaningful. As long as we persist, we will definitely see hope."
Lisa also agreed: "That's right, we can't give up. Those who are suffering need our help, and we can't let them down."
Ethan smiled and patted Tony on the shoulder. "Thank you for your support. Let's keep working hard now."
A few months later, Ethan and his team finally delivered the first batch of supplies to refugee camps in Eastern Europe. Looking at the grateful eyes of the refugees, Ethan felt satisfied and relieved.
A little girl walked up to Ethan, took his hand, her eyes full of gratitude. "Thank you, thank you so much."
Ethan squatted down and gently stroked the little girl's hair, with tears in his eyes. "You're welcome. This is what we should do. You must be strong. We will always support you."
Tony stood aside, tears flashing in his eyes. He finally understood Ethan's persistence and determination, and the significance of everything they did.
After returning home, Ethan and Tony sat side by side on the balcony, bathing in the moonlight and admiring the twinkling stars in the night sky. They were immersed in the tranquil atmosphere, their hearts full of expectations and longings for the future.
"Ethan, I understand your idea now. We can't change the whole world, but we can change the fate of some people." Tony said with emotion.
Ethan smiled slightly, with a hint of determination in his eyes. "Yes, Tony. As long as we persist, we will definitely see hope. The war may not end soon, but our efforts will not be in vain."
Tony nodded, his eyes full of determination. "We will keep going until we see the day of peace."
As the sun sets, the streets of Kabul, Afghanistan, are covered in dust. Ethan stands at the entrance of a simple school with a determined look. He firmly believes that only through education can the next generation of Afghanistan have a better future.
"Mr. Ethan!" A young voice interrupted his thoughts. Ethan turned around and saw a teenage boy running towards him. The boy's name was Ali, and he was one of the students in this school.
"Ali, what's the matter?" Ethan asked with a smile.
"Mr. Ethan, can you help me explain this math problem?" Ali panted, holding a tattered textbook in his hand.
Ethan took the textbook and looked at the question carefully. "Of course, Ali. This question requires you to understand the basic algebraic principles first, and then..."
As Ethan was explaining patiently, an angry voice came from a distance. "Ethan! What are you doing here?" The owner of the voice was Hassan, Ali's father.
"Mr. Hassan, I'm helping Ali study," Ethan replied calmly.
"Study?" Hassan's face became even gloomier. "What can these books bring him? What he needs is survival skills, not this useless knowledge!"
Ethan did not back down. He looked at Hassan firmly. "Mr. Hassan, I understand your concerns. But knowledge is the key to changing destiny. Only by mastering knowledge can the next generation of Afghanistan live a better life in the future."
"Change fate?" Hassan sneered. "Do you know the reality here? There are battles and deaths every day. Can knowledge protect them?"
"Mr. Hassan, I don't deny the current difficulties, but precisely because of this, we need education even more. Knowledge can bring hope and peace." Ethan's voice was full of passion.
"Hope? Peace?" Hassan shook his head angrily. "These are just empty words! I only believe in the reality before my eyes."
At this moment, a gentle voice interrupted. "Hassan, Ethan is right." It was Hassan's wife, Maria, who walked between the two men, tears in her eyes.
"Maria, do you also think that knowledge can change everything?" Hassan looked at his wife with some confusion.
“Yes, Hassan,” Maria said softly. “I know you want to protect our children, but we must look beyond the present difficulties. We must think about their future.”
Hassan was silent for a moment, a complex expression on his face. "But how can we be sure that this knowledge is really useful?"
Ethan seized the opportunity and continued, "Mr. Hassan, I am willing to prove this with my life. I will stay here and teach these children until they can stand on their own feet."
"Are you really willing to do this?" Hassan's voice wavered.
"Yes, I do." Ethan replied firmly.
"Okay." Hassan finally relented. "I'll give you a chance, but if this knowledge doesn't change anything, I won't support you anymore."
Ethan nodded, his heart full of determination. He knew that this was just the beginning, but he was willing to give everything for the future of these children.
As time went on, Ethan put more energy into the school. He not only taught his students math and science, but also taught them reading and writing. He believed that only a comprehensive education could truly change their destiny.
One day, Ethan was giving a history lesson in the classroom when an uninvited guest broke in. It was a member of the Taliban named Abdullah. He was holding a weapon and had a fierce expression on his face.
"Ethan, what are you doing here?" Abdullah asked coldly.
"I'm teaching the kids knowledge," Ethan answered fearlessly.
"Knowledge?" Abdullah sneered. "They have no use for this stuff. You're wasting your time."
"Abdullah, you are wrong," Ethan said firmly. "Knowledge is their only way out. Only through education can they escape the shadow of poverty and war."
"Do you really believe this?" A hint of doubt flashed in Abdullah's eyes.
"Yes, I believe it." Ethan answered without hesitation.
Abdullah was silent for a while, then suddenly turned and left the classroom. Ethan knew that the fight was far from over, but he would not give up.
A few months later, Ethan's efforts began to bear fruit. Ali's grades improved significantly, and he began to show a strong interest in learning. Other students also gradually realized the importance of knowledge, and their eyes were filled with hope.
One day after school, Ali ran to Ethan and said excitedly: "Mr. Ethan, I want to be a doctor! I want to help more people."
Ethan looked at Ali with tears in his eyes. "Ali, you can do it. As long as you keep learning, the future will definitely belong to you."
However, the good times did not last long. One night, the school was suddenly attacked. Ethan was forced to flee with the students, and they hid in an abandoned building, their hearts pounding.
"Mr. Ethan, what should we do?" Ali asked nervously.
"Keep calm, Ali." Ethan tried to keep his voice steady. "We'll find a way."
Just then, Hassan and Maria arrived, bringing food and water, as well as some simple medical supplies.
"Mr. Hassan, Ms. Maria, how did you find us?" Ethan asked in surprise.
“We’ve been keeping an eye on you.” Hassan’s voice was a little apologetic. “Ethan, I get it. You’re right. Knowledge does bring hope.”
