Chapter 76 Semi-finals, Mitsuki vs. Haya (Part )
The remaining matches will be settled the next day. The two losers in the semifinals will decide the third and fourth places, and the two winners will compete for the championship. The semifinalists will all receive prizes from the alliance, but of course, the higher the ranking, the richer the prize.
Since there are only four games left, there is no need to arrange the schedule so tightly. There are two games in the morning and two in the afternoon. Even if a full-scale 6v6 battle takes longer, one day is more than enough for four games.
The first match in the morning was the much-anticipated match between Mitsuki and Chihaya. Both of them were favorites to win the championship, and one of them was a cute loli and the other a beautiful mature woman, which was full of gimmicks.
"Meiyue, come on!" Xiaoyang and others were sitting in the front row of the audience. Xiaoyang was cheering for Meiyue against his will. Meiyue waved in Xiaoyang's direction, and this slight movement caused many people in that direction to shout excitedly.
Chihaya followed the direction Mitsuki waved in and saw Xiaoyang, and couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.
The two people who were about to fight did not communicate with each other, but their eyes met. After the referee announced the start of the game, they both threw out the Poké Balls at the same time.
Mitsuki's starting Pokémon is Shovelnatch, while Chihaya's starting Pokémon is Metagross.
"Metaphysical, use Invisible Rock." Chihaya's Metaphysical served as the starting auxiliary this time and did not choose to attack immediately.
"Shovel Cannon Bug, use the sticky net." Miyuki also did not choose to attack, and also cast the bug net first.
Chihaya hesitated for a moment and chose to continue laying out the field: "Metalloquin, use Light Wall."
Metagross has four weaknesses: ground, ghost, fire, and dark. As an Alola native, Chihaya is naturally very familiar with the resident bug, the Shovel Cannon Bug. The Shovel Cannon Bug does not have moves of these attributes, and at most it has physical attack moves such as biting and crushing which have no effect.
"Shovelbug, use high-speed movement." Mitsuki did not choose to attack, but chose to strengthen. High-speed movement is a move that is very common in animations but relatively rare in games. The effect is to increase its own speed by two levels. For a slow Pokémon like Shovelbug, speed +2 actually does not have much effect. However, the speed of Metagross is not fast either, and Shovelbug's speed +2 just exceeds Metagross.
"Shovel Cannon Bug, take over!"
Shovel Cannon threw a baton and returned it to the Poké Ball. Mitsuki threw the second Pokémon of the relay, Alola Garagar. This was the evolution of the Caragara that Mitsuki caught in the Wera Volcano Park. Usually, there is no chance to use it to fight against others, but after the subsequent field training, Garagara's level has not fallen behind.
Chihaya's Metagross continued to create a reflection wall, with no intention of attacking at all.
"Garaka, use Tile Break!" Mitsuki curled her lips. Tile Break was a move that Naoki taught Garaka specifically. It was a 75-power fighting-type physical attack move that could destroy the opponent's light wall, reflection wall, and aurora curtain, and attack the target to cause damage. Moreover, the damage of the move was not affected by the damage reduction of the reflection wall and aurora curtain.
With a roar of the stick, Metagross was hit, and the efforts of Metagross in two rounds were directly shattered. The tile-splitting with equal damage did not cause much damage to Metagross itself, but this move was the most crucial attack on the opponent's trainer's mental attack.
Chihaya's face was a little ugly, but she immediately commanded Metagross to use Earthquake to counterattack. Garagara was restrained by the ground attribute twice, and at this time Garagara took out a yellow fruit and stuffed it into his mouth. The cashew fruit, commonly known as the anti-ground fruit, was activated when attacked by a ground-attribute move with excellent effects, halving the damage of one ground-attribute move.
That's right, this Garagara doesn't carry thick bones that increase its attack power, but is a type that is specifically designed to strengthen its physical durability. It still has some HP left after taking damage from the Invisible Rock and the non-type Earthquake from Metagross.
"Gargh, use Fire Vortex!"
Fire Vortex is a low-powered Fire-attribute special attack that binds the target. The binding state lasts for 4 to 5 turns, and the Pokémon in the binding state will continue to receive damage (1/8 of HP per turn) and cannot be replaced.
Metagross once again made an earthquake, and Garagar lost his ability to fight. Mitsuki took Garagar back into the Poké Ball, and the corners of her mouth curled up slightly. The formula for victory has been written!
"Go! Sniper the tree owl!"
There is an invisible rule in Pokémon battles that is, each Pokémon can only use a maximum of 4 moves in a battle. Metagross has already used 4 moves, Invisible Rock, Light Wall, Reflective Wall, and Earthquake. Apart from the Invisible Rock that was spread beforehand and caused a little damage to Owloo, the Earthquake, which was resisted twice as much, had limited effect on Owloo.
As we all know, if a support player is stuck on the field and the opponent's Pokémon is an attacker that can be strengthened, the battle is almost over.
Chihaya had no choice but to let Metagross use Earthquake, while Mitsuki used Sniper Owl three times in a row, Special Attack +3! What does Special Attack +6 mean? A 6% bonus, any move with the same damage multiplier is equivalent to four times the counter.
In the fourth round, Sniper Tree Owl used Ultimate Absorption, which absorbed half of the HP lost by the earthquake in the first three rounds. Half of the HP of Metagross was burned by the vortex of fire, and the +6 Ultimate Absorption was enough to kill Metagross even if it was resisted twice.
Chihaya took back the Metagross that lost its combat ability and replaced it with the last hope, Chihouba. Chihouba's characteristic is simplicity. When attacked by the target's moves, it ignores the target's attack, special attack and hit rate ability changes.
Mitsuki didn't care at all. Even without the power-up, Chihouba, who was restrained by the grass attribute, couldn't withstand the attack of the Sniper Tree Owl: "Sniper Tree Owl, gorgeous and colorful flowers are in full bloom!"
Mitsuki directly used Grass Z. This Z move based on the Grass-attribute ultimate move Crazy Plant had a power of 200. Under double restraint, Chihouba actually managed to hold on. It has to be said that the HP racial value of 150 is really awesome. The effort value should be all on the durability of the special defense.
"Chihouba, use Crunch!"
The double restraint did not kill the Sniper Tree Owl instantly. Mitsuki's Sniper Tree Owl added a lot of endurance and effort value.
"Sniper Shoot Tree Owl, Ultimate Absorption."
The Sniper Tree Owl made up for the attack, and Chihouba lost his last bit of HP and his ability to fight.
