Chapter 77 Semi-finals, Mitsuki vs. Hayabusa (Part )
Chihaya took back Chihouba, and her ugly expression eased a little. Chihouba's Bite caused considerable damage to Sniper Tree Owl, and Sniper Tree Owl's Ultimate Absorb did not absorb much HP from the low-health Chihouba, which means that Sniper Tree Owl is now at most half health.
Although the special attack of Owloo at +6 is devastating, its speed is a very obvious weakness. If it does not have the right to attack, its output will be useless. Chihaya only needs to send out an Owloo that can take away half of its health with one move, or a Pokémon that is faster than Owloo, to stabilize the situation.
"Go! Dragonite!" Chihaya's third Pokémon is her ace Dragonite, which obviously meets the standards of a "fire captain".
"Dronbaruto, use Subconscious Surprise Attack."
Under Chihaya's command, Dragonite dived into the shadows. This move that required charging undoubtedly gave Mitsuki time to react, but this was also expected. Although Dragonite was a ghost-attribute Pokémon, the ghost-attribute had few physical attack moves, and the only one it could use was the Lurking Attack.
"Sniper Owl, use Baton." Mitsuki once again used the magical skill of Baton. There was no need for Sniper Owl to stay on the field anymore, and all he had to do next was to hand it over to other Pokémon.
The Pokémon that took over was Mitsuki's currently recognized ace Pokémon, Kaguya Ironfire. Its ghost-attribute moves only caused equal damage to Kaguya Ironfire, which has Steel and Flying attributes. The physical attack of Dragonite was not enough to break through Kaguya Ironfire's defense and cause much damage to her. However, Kaguya Ironfire with Special Attack +6 was the complete opposite.
"Iron Fire Kaguya, use the Cannon Beam on it!"
Dragonite appeared from the shadows and launched a sneak attack on Kaguya. Kaguya remained motionless and silently condensed a silver-white beam of light and blasted it at Dragonite to counterattack. Kaguya's special attack +6 released a cannon beam that was obviously not something that a Pokémon like Dragonite, whose racial values were mostly allocated to speed and dual attack, could handle. Dragonite was swept away by the cannon beam and suddenly crashed into the edge wall of the competition venue, losing its combat ability on the spot.
Kaguya Ironfire's characteristic Beast Boost is activated, but the ability +6 is already the limit of Pokémon, and Kaguya Ironfire's special attack can no longer be increased.
Chihaya took a deep breath. From the moment the Metagross was trapped by the vortex of fire, the situation of the game had become one-sided. Chihaya was familiar with the tactic of enhanced relay, but she had never used it in a real battle, nor had she encountered it. She never expected that she would encounter such a situation.
There are many ways to solve the problem of ability enhancement, such as using moves such as Roar and Dragon Tail to force the opponent's Pokémon to die; or using moves such as Black Mist to eliminate all ability changes on the field; and using self-suggestion to copy the ability changes of the opponent's Pokémon is also a solution.
These three methods are useless to Chihaya. The first method, like Roar, Dragon Tail and other moves that push the opponent's Pokémon away, all require a -6 system first (if it is not a -6 system first, a fast Pokémon can use Rock Spikes and Roar to directly kill six Pokémon at once). Without the initiative, no Pokémon in Chihaya's team should be able to withstand Kaguya's frontal attack.
The second and third methods were out of the question, because her Pokémon had not specifically learned moves like Black Mist and Self-Suggestion, so they couldn't use them even if they wanted to.
Now Chihaya can only use the stupid method, that is the so-called "human wave tactics", relying on the speed advantage of her own Pokémon to wear down the opponent's Kaguya. This method is stupid, drinking poison to quench thirst, and in the end, she will most likely lose because of the lack of Pokémon.
In fact, Chihaya should be thankful that at least the opponent's Kaguya is not a very fast Pokémon, otherwise she wouldn't even be able to use the human wave tactic, and she would have to go up like the Calabash Brothers saving their grandfather, and defeat them one by one.
After taking back the Dragonite, Chihaya sent out her fourth Pokémon, the final evolution of her original Pokémon of the Alola people, the Blazing Roaring Tiger. Unlike the Blazing Roaring Tiger of Haou, this one was obviously well-trained, with the characteristics of intimidation and a cautious personality. It also has all the auxiliary moves such as high-five surprise attack and harsh words.
"Fiery Roaring Tiger, use Flash Charge!"
The fire attribute restrains Kaguya twice as much. Kaguya's durability is extremely high, and this flash charge is just halfway through. Kaguya has no face, and it is impossible to tell if it has any expression. It just silently took out a pomelo fruit and stuffed it into its mouth.
"Iron Fire Kaguya, use Air Blade!"
Air Blade is just an ordinary 75-power flying-type special attack move, but it is the only flying-type special attack move that Kaguya, a flying-type Pokémon, can learn. Although there is no attribute restraint relationship, with the special attack +6 and the power increase of this type, even the Blazing Tiger, known as the first Pokémon in the universe, can't resist this air blade and falls on the spot, losing its combat ability.
Chihaya's fifth Pokémon is Dragonite. Dragonite's close combat can only cause equal damage to Kaguya Ironfire. Kaguya Ironfire, with 3/4 HP, easily took the attack and counterattacked with a double-restrained Air Blade to take Dragonite away.
Chihaya's last Pokémon is a giant tanzan, a rock and fire Pokémon with the special ability steam engine. This Pokémon was once the most popular in the eighth generation doubles. The special ability steam engine increases speed by +6 when it is attacked by water attributes, and the double attack +2 when it is attacked by the item weakness insurance with excellent effect. Combined with the high HP and high output characteristics of the eighth generation's Dynamax system, it is common to end the battle in three rounds. It is a very powerful and brainless tactic.
However, this is all due to the special situation of doubles in the eighth generation. Without the cooperation of teammates, Utan-Tani itself is just an ordinary Pokémon with a race value of 510. Its tankiness is nothing compared to Kaguya-Tani with a special attack of +6. Its speed is not even as fast as Kaguya-Tani, and it doesn't even have a chance to attack.
Kaguya Tetsuka used the ultimate absorption to instantly kill Utanyama, and even absorbed a lot of his HP back.
Mitsuki won the game almost in a crushing manner, but no one thinks that Chihaya is too weak or that Mitsuki is lucky. The tactic of trapping the opponent's Pokémon and taking the opportunity to strengthen it is a tactic that any Pokémon trainer can understand. It's just that it is difficult to execute in actual battles. Mitsuki created this situation based on her own calculations, which only shows that Mitsuki's combat skills are very strong.
