Chapter 495 The End!
Chapter 495: The End!
Quill is placed in an orphanage, where he has trouble adjusting and finding a foster family, but he never loses his desire to become an astronaut, leave Earth, and find the alien race that killed his mother.
Eventually, Lisa, the NASA commander, got him a job as a mechanic at the NASA launch site in California. Once there, Peter began secretly training with the simulator in all his free time.
One day, after an altercation with an important astronaut, Lisa has no choice but to fire Peter. Feeling that this is his last chance to reach space, he steals a Kree spacecraft, manages to evade the space station's security and leaves the Earth.
Shortly after leaving his birth planet, the Kree spaceship Peter stole malfunctioned, and he was stranded in orbit for three days until Yondu, the commander of the space pirate group the Ravagers, discovered him and attempted to steal his ship.
Peter managed to defeat all the crew members, even capturing Yondu and knocking him out. But after waking up, Yondu managed to free himself from his restraints, sneakily captured Peter, and gave him two choices, exile in space or be killed here, Peter asked him if there was a third choice, he wanted to join Yondu's team.
Yondu initially disapproved of the idea, but after he discovered that Peter was a homeless child like him, Yondu changed his mind and let him stay on the ship as a cleaner with other pirate crew members. During his time as a pirate crew member, he learned all the space knowledge he could from it.
Yondu heard about the Asterion One from Peter and asked him to help the Ravagers steal it. Peter was skeptical at first, but Yondu promised to give him a gem with the location of the Badong ship that killed his mother. Out of revenge, Peter helped Yondu board the Asterion One and captured all the crew members inside.
But Peter thinks twice and manages to steal the gem from Yondu and is ready to leave the pirates to fulfill his dream of revenge, but he realizes that this is not what his mother would have wanted, so he returns to rescue the crew of the Star One and drive out Yondu and his raiders.
He decided not to pursue revenge anymore and settled on Planet Xerxes, where he began to search for his destiny as Star-Lord.
Becoming Star-Lord
Two years into his interstellar travels, he met Ma Savage and began supporting her orphanage. At this time, he also met his father, the Emperor of the Spartacus Empire.
He learns of his heritage and his birthright to become Star-Lord, however the meeting does not end well as Jason wants him to become the prince of Spartacus and rule with him, while Peter hates being a ruler and would rather create and live freely. They both part ways unhappily.
At some point, Peter encountered a conscious starship named Ship, who was the ship's artificial intelligence and could create a human female form. The two traveled together in the galaxy for a while, and Star-Lord built a set of armor that could fly at the speed of light in the universe, relying on this suit of armor to fight various powerful enemies in the universe.
One day, Ship accidentally discovered Fallen One, the former apostle of Galactus, who had arbitrarily destroyed countless habitable planets in the universe. He wanted to use this method to starve Galactus to death.
Star-Lord thought he could handle this threat, and in his first battle with the Fallen, he was nearly killed, but Ship managed to save his life and nurse him back to health. Despite losing the first battle, Star-Lord still believed he could deal with the Fallen, so he and Ship tracked the crazy guy to the edge of the Kree Empire, where the Fallen were ready to destroy Avaleen-4. It was an agricultural planet, and its inhabitants had established a small mining farm on one of the planet's moons.
By this time, Ship has discovered that the Fallen have released powerful life energy to destroy the planet. In order to prevent the Fallen from destroying Avalin-4 and killing tens of billions of its inhabitants, the spaceship and Star-Lord realize that they must deliver a large amount of life energy to deal with him, and the way they generate so much energy is to sacrifice some lives.
Feeling they had no other choice, Ship chose the people of the mining colony, absorbing the life energy through her Ordnance Matrix and channeling it to the Corrupted. Their strategy worked and the Corrupted were defeated, but channeling so much energy created an explosion that killed Ship and destroyed her equipment, including the elemental gun and the suit.
Billions of people on Avalin-4 were saved, but Star-Lord's battle with the Fallen resulted in the indirect deaths of 35 people. So he turned himself and the Fallen over to the Nova Corps. While many disagreed on Quill's crimes, he and the Fallen were subsequently imprisoned in an interstellar prison known as Kyln.
While on the Kane, Peter decided to receive his first cybernetic implant, which he considered to be part of his choice to escape from humanity. On the Kane, Peter, Ch'ak, and Gladiator tried to ally with Thanos to fight the Maker, fearing her immense power.
They gave Thanos her background and requested his help, but he simply walked away. Later, Peter observed a huge explosion at Kane Prison, which he believed was Thanos being attacked by the Creator.
So they prepared to go to the explosion site. Gladiator told Peter how he and the Creator entered Kane. When "Gladiator" asked Peter how he entered Kane, he refused to answer. When they arrived at the explosion site, Thanos had already defeated the Creator.
But Peter discovered that the Fallen had escaped. He told Thanos about this, and Thanos presumably went to deal with it. Since the Creator had been permanently disabled, Gladiator prepared to leave Kane. Gladiator told Peter that he had conscripted Peter to join the Shi'ar Imperial Guard, but Peter disagreed. He chose to remain in Kane.
Destruction and Conquest
While Peter was imprisoned, the Milky Way was invaded. Annihilus led the Zerg army to destroy planets one after another. Annihilus came from the Negative Zone. Since the universe has been expanding naturally, the negative zone has been shrinking relatively speaking, so Annihilus sent troops to destroy everything in the universe. In the chaos, the cosmic prison was destroyed, and this day was called Annihilation Day.
204 days after the Annihilation Day, Peter joined Nova's team United Front, along with Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, Ronan the Accuser, Firelord, Red Shift and Stardust to fight against the Annihilation Day.
Later, the fourth generation Captain Marvel, Phyla-Vell, also joined the United Front. The Nova Project wanted to assassinate the Annihilus, so Peter and Captain Marvel decided to go together, while the other team members continued to fight against the army.
222 days after Annihilation Day, Peter, Captain Marvel, and Nova finally came before Annihilus.
It turns out that Nova had already planned to fight Annihilus one-on-one, so he trapped Peter and Captain Marvel in a protective shield.
However, because the Annihilus was protected by the Quantum Bands, Nova was at a disadvantage. Captain Marvel couldn't bear to watch his companion die in vain, so he broke through the protective shield and took away the Quantum Bands. At this time, the Annihilus's power was greatly reduced, and Nova seized the opportunity to successfully kill the Annihilus and end the war.
After the Annihilation War, Peter stayed on the Kree homeworld of Hala to help the new ruler Ronan.
Peter was assigned to serve as a consultant for a project called "A-ware", which is a military-grade Kree cyber defense system program. The plan hopes to improve the Kree's military strength through the system program. On the day of the exercise, Peter updated the system program for the armor of the military leader Space Knight Daystar.
However, the system was invaded by the foreign enemy Phalanx, the program was infected, and Peter was attacked by the Sun Star and the army. Although he successfully escaped the attack, a space knight broke Peter's arm during the battle.
Peter was finally rescued by Admiral Galen-Kor, and the cybernetic device was removed during treatment. Since the home planet Hala was occupied by Franks, who used the device to control everyone on the planet, the device had to be destroyed before further counterattacks could be launched.
Peter was sent by the admiral to destroy the device and received the translation device, combat helmet and spy combat suit from the Kree. Since Franks can hack into high-tech equipment, he can only use ancient firearms as weapons.
Peter finally chose a pair of submachine guns. The admiral gave him several team members, all of whom were prisoners, including Bug, a man with innate insect abilities, Deathcry, a militant Shi'ar, Mantis, a man with psychic abilities, Captain Universe, a man who uses cosmic powers, Rocket Raccoon, a military genius, and Groot, a tree man with regenerative abilities.
Building a team
After the war in which Frank invaded the Kree Empire, considering the previous two wars, independent cosmic heroes were passive. Peter Quill decided to build a proactive force to defend the galaxy instead of waiting for a crisis to occur.
On the recommendation of his ally Nova, Quill sets up a base of operations for his future team at the neutral station Knowhere, which features a convenient near-universe-wide teleportation system, an intelligent and psychic Russian space dog named Cosmo, who serves as the new team's head of security and galactic liaison, and a superhero team called the Luminals of Xarth, who become Quill's rivals and neighbors.
For his team, Quill recruited comrades who had previously performed special missions for the Kree Empire with him during the Conquest War: Rocket Raccoon, Mantis, Bug-Man, Groot, etc. In addition, he recruited the powerful hero Phyla Vile, who also played a major role in the previous crisis, the protector of the universe, Quasar, who possessed the quantum bracelet, and the recently reborn Adam Warlock, a cosmic magician and former owner of the Soul Gem.
The deadly assassin Gamora, who is considered the most dangerous woman in the galaxy, Drax the Destroyer, and later met the first generation Guardians of the Galaxy, Major Victory Vance Astro. It was because of Astro's appearance that Star-Lord's team was named Guardians of the Galaxy.
Star-Lord asked these people to join his team through Mantis' telepathy, because after the two annihilation events, the universe was in a very fragile state, and cracks began to form and spread. In order to prevent the collapse of the universe, he had no choice. However, after everyone knew about this, many people left the team angrily.
Only Rocket Raccoon decided to continue Star-Lord's mission and began to look for the missing team members. He gathered old partners who had participated in secret missions together to form a new team, including Bug-Man, Mantis, Astro and Groot.
After Star-Lord quit the Guardians of the Galaxy, he felt that during the Franks' conquest of the Kree Empire, the A-ware military system was invaded by the foreign enemy Franks, and that he, as the system's military adviser, had a certain responsibility, so he came to the Kree capital of Hala with a sense of guilt and was exiled to the negative space by Ronan the Accuser.
