Li Xueyue ate very full today. It reminded her of the good old days. She had never felt more fulfilled than at this moment.

Yu Zhen was ruthless. He made sure she took a bite of every dish. Every time she finished a bite, he would put more food in her bowl.

This kind of etiquette was not favored by the Han people, and even Yan Xi almost said it out loud. But Yu Zhen's look was enough to silence her.

"I can't eat anymore." Li Xueyue complained as he brought the spoon to her mouth.

"Yangguang, have another sip," Yu Zhen coaxed patiently. She pouted, but still drank the soup, and the delicious taste made her eyes widen.

She’s cute. Yu Zhen doesn’t think feeding people is that interesting. He doesn’t know if she’s aware of her many expressions while eating.

Yu Zhen was full just by watching her chewing movements and her excited little movements. Her raised eyebrows and the joy in her eyes were enough to let him know that she enjoyed the meal.

Yu Zhen ate a little here and there, but not much. He wanted to make sure she was full first.

"Try the soup too." Li Xueyue suggested in a more forceful voice.

She raised the porcelain bowl in her hand. She stirred the soup carefully, blew on it, hoping to cool it down, and then brought a spoonful of soup to his lips.

"Very good," she said eagerly.

Yan Xi didn't know what to do, he was just panicking. "Princess, please! Palace etiquette dictates--"

Yu Zhen grabbed her wrist and drank the soup eagerly. He made sure not a drop of water was left.

Li Xueyue's face turned red with anger at his expression. He seemed to be craving for more than just food.

"Eat it," she mumbled, pushing his face away, causing him to laugh.

Li Xueyue finally noticed her anxious maid. She was confused by the latter's expression. Did something happen? Was it her behavior?

Li Xueyue looked down at the spoon and bowl in her hands. Wasn't she allowed to do this...? She knew the etiquette of Wuyi, but maybe the etiquette of Han was very different?

“What’s going on in your head, my little overthinker?” Yu Zhen asked as he finished the food in his bowl. He took a sip of tea to wash away the taste.

"Are the rules of Han sword different from those of Wuyi?" Li Xueyue asked as she put down the items.

She habitually interlaced her fingers. She was caught off guard when he grabbed one of her hands and interlaced their fingers.

Li Xueyue looked up and found that he didn't realize what he had done. He was just observing her. He stared at her as if nothing else mattered. As if she was the only one in this huge palace.

"To be honest, it's a little different, but not too big," said Yu Zhen.

Yu-jin didn't want her to worry about these things but knew it would eventually get to her. Most of the interactions they had in this restaurant were unwelcome, especially putting food in other people's bowls or feeding the royal family with a spoon.

Since it was a matter of closing the door and it was a private matter between the two of them, nothing would happen to her unless the head maid didn't want her to lose her mind.

"What happened here couldn't happen anywhere else," Yu Zhen explained. "But I don't want you to worry about such rules. Act as usual."

"What if someone says something bad about me?"

"Then they will wake up and lose their tongues," Yu Zhen said with a throbbing heart.

"I'm beginning to think you're crazy." Li Xueyue muttered softly.

Why was he always so... violent? She'd noticed the same trait in Wen Jinkai. Had being in the military made them less sensitive? That would explain their obsession with perfection.

“The sooner you realize it, the better,” Yu Zhen said thoughtfully. One would have thought that he would be offended by her words, but the opposite was true. He was very happy that she didn’t have any filters around her. It was really refreshing.

With Li Xueyue, Yu Zhen felt like he could be himself again. It was a comforting feeling because he knew he could find comfort in her heart.

Li Xueyue bit her lower lip, then released it the next second, her eyes instantly looking in her direction. She raised the teacup to her lips and took a sip of tea. She wanted to divert her attention away from his melancholy eyes. They had pried into her soul and left a permanent mark.

For some reason, a question popped up in her mind.

"My brother, what happened to him?" she asked.

Li Xueyue deliberately spoke vaguely so that Yan Xi could not understand what they were discussing. Even if Yan Xi knew, Li Xueyue doubted whether this woman would tell others what happened in this room.

"He is safe." Yu Zhen said.

"But where is he?" Li Xueyue asked.

If there is one thing she doesn't want to happen, it is innocent children being hurt. Children should not pay for the sins of their parents. Li Xueyue knows this best.

"I won't hurt children." Yu Zhen answered her in a low and solemn voice.

Li Xueyue trusted him. She knew he would never do such a cruel thing. "Is he in the palace?" she asked.

Yu Zhen looked at her. It would be better if she didn’t see the little boy. What if she got hurt if she saw him? The fallen heir of the Bai family. The only remnant of the Bai family was the little kid who didn’t notice what was happening.

"Can I meet him?" Li Xueyue asked him.

He immediately shook his head. "No," he asserted.

"Why not?" Li Xueyue asked. She couldn't suppress the uneasy feeling rising in her stomach. Could something have really happened to the child?

"When the incident happened, his mouth was gagged, his eyes were covered and his ears were deafened. I made sure he didn't hear or see anything," Yu Zhen explained.

"Yes, but I still want to see him." Li Xueyue said. "Just for peace of mind."

"Snow Moon——"

"Please?" she whispered.

Li Xueyue grabbed his other hand that was supporting his right face. She held his hand and leaned towards him. He was looking at her. She pouted and said to him.

"Please?" she asked again.

Yu Zhen looked at her expression and raised his eyebrows. Without warning, he kissed her lips. Although it was just a light kiss, it was enough to make her blink in surprise.

"If you pout again, I'll kiss you again," Yu Zhen said.

Li Xueyue's expression froze immediately. She leaned back a little, but he walked forward. He loosened their hands and put a finger under her chin.

"Or I'll kiss you again," Yu Zhen whispered. Before she could say anything, he had already quickly kissed her lips. He pulled back a second later. He smirked as she leaned forward, obviously wanting more than that.

Finally he said, "I'll take you there."

Li Xueyue's eyes lit up when she heard his words. A big smile spread across her face and she put her arms around his shoulders. His chest rumbled as he laughed happily.

Yu Zhen surprised her by lifting her from her seat, and her little feet dangled off the ground as he hugged her tightly.

“You are so cute, let me take you there.” Yu Zhen said thoughtfully. He asked her to stand up. He was surprised when she suddenly grabbed his hand and held it.

"I've always been cute." Li Xueyue retorted.

"Of course." Yu Zhen said sarcastically. She covered her nose in anger and snorted in a low voice.

Yu Zhen chuckled. She was very cute. But he wouldn't tell her that. She had a big enough self-esteem.
