Hogwarts Lion Girl
Chapter 10 A frightening morning
The sunlight outside the window became mottled, and beams of light passed through the gaps in the curtains and hit Harry's face, gently waking him up.
Amid the rustling of the bed curtains, Harry yawned and slowly opened his eyes. The vision in front of him was blurry, yet the haziness still carried the warmth of his dream.
He slowly sat up from the warm bed, stretched himself, and prepared to give Hedwig a good morning smile.
"Good morning, Hai...Aaaaaaah!!!"
"boom!"
Dobby came up to the edge of the bed and smiled in response to Harry's unfinished good morning, "Good morning, Harry Potter."
The brief feeling of weightlessness and the touch of the cold floor made Harry shiver involuntarily, but he gradually regained his composure.
Dobby's face was a typical house-elf's, but when Harry suddenly faced this enthusiastic face up close, he felt as if he was being played with a prank, and all his sense of security was eroded without warning.
Harry opened his eyes wide, staring through the messy hair at the uninvited guest beside the bed.
His pale face looked even more vivid in the morning light. He covered his heart with one hand, his movements seemed a little stiff. He asked in confusion and alertness: "Dobby, why...why are you here?"
Dobby's green face broke into a wider smile, and his sparkling eyes seemed to say, "It's great that you still remember my name!"
Harry slowly got up from the floor. He looked very disheveled at the moment. One leg of his trousers was high, while the other leg was low. The buttons of his shirt had broken free from their restraints and were open in a mess.
Harry suppressed the expression on his face and tried to make his voice sound calm. "Can you tell me, Dobby, how did you end up in my room?"
Dobby's expression suddenly became extremely serious, even worried, with suppressed fear flashing in his eyes, as if he knew a very heavy piece of news.
"Mr. Harry Potter, Hogwarts... Hogwarts is very dangerous right now, you can't go there." Dobby's voice was low, with a kind of caution that he didn't want to be heard by third people.
Harry was stunned. Hogwarts is dangerous? This is the second time Dobby has said this. What kind of danger is it?
"Why? Dobby, why did you say that?" Harry asked urgently, his heart beating faster but his tone was firm.
But Dobby just shook his head, clenched his hands into fists, and frowned, revealing an unspeakable pain, as if he was struggling with his own determination.
"I can't tell, Mr. Harry Potter, I can't... You wouldn't understand."
Harry straightened up, looked directly at Dobby, and said with a childish firmness in his voice, "Dobby, I have to go back to Hogwarts. It's the only place I can go. And there is Dumbledore, the most powerful white wizard in the wizarding world, in Hogwarts. There is no safer place than there."
"Dumbledore... yes, he is the strongest white wizard. But... but Harry Potter cannot go to Hogwarts..." There was a tremor in Dobby's whisper that Harry had never heard before.
Harry tried to explain to Dobby, but Dobby seemed to be immersed in his own world, just whispering the warning over and over again, and it was completely impossible to communicate.
Harry's patience was like an ice cube that continued to melt in the hot summer. The sympathy and curiosity he had at the beginning had been diluted by repeated useless conversations and turned into an indescribable unhappiness.
Harry tried hard to maintain his manners, but his voice was already taking on a hard-to-disguise coldness. "Dobby, I need a reasonable reason, not this nonsense!" The emotions that he had tried to suppress were now beginning to burst like a flood, difficult to restrain.
The house-elf on the opposite side didn't seem to care much about Harry's mood changes, and continued with his worried and obscure narration.
"Dobby, what on earth are you talking about?!" Harry's voice dropped.
Hogwarts is not only a safe haven for Harry, but also the starting point of his magical world and the foundation of his identity and faith. But now, this house-elf wants to stop him from going to Hogwarts and keep him in this annoying Dursley family. The key is that he can't give any reason, just like he is making trouble for no reason.
Harry finally couldn't stand the constant riddles and foreboding anymore. He suddenly raised his voice, interrupting Dobby's endless whispering, "That's enough, Dobby!"
Harry, no longer willing to continue pestering Dobby, made up his mind and decided to ignore Dobby. He turned around decisively, bypassing the somewhat neurotic house-elf, and prepared to find some food for Hedwig.
"Harry Potter can only stay here and can't go anywhere!" Dobby's cracked voice carried an urgency that pierced the air.
Harry turned around in shock and quickly covered Dobby's mouth with one hand to prevent his screams from waking up the Dursleys nearby. His eyes revealed a hint of anxiety and worry.
"Shh! Please keep your voice down. It will be troublesome if you wake them up."
But it was obviously too late, as Uncle Vernon's curses could be heard from next door.
At Harry's urging, Dobby quickly hid himself.
Vernon was suspicious of Harry's every move, and his burly body quickly passed through the connecting door of the two rooms and broke into Harry's territory. His eyes were wide open, and his face was inexplicably angry, as if Harry's behavior had crossed all the bottom lines.
"You again? What the hell are you doing so early in the morning!" Uncle Vernon frowned, and his voice was like a truck out of control, rushing around.
Harry tried his best to remain calm, even though his heart was in turmoil. He quickly searched for the right words to calm this sudden storm.
"I... I heard some noises just now and I was worried that there might be a burglar in the house." Harry tried his best to sound calm and rational.
"Thief? Are you talking nonsense?" Uncle Vernon sneered sarcastically. He obviously did not believe Harry's explanation.
"Don't blame me for being rude if I hear you yelling so early in the morning again." Uncle Vernon said harshly and turned to leave.
Harry breathed a sigh of relief. He stood silently, watching Uncle Vernon's back disappear through the door.
But obviously, the trouble this morning was far from over, as Aunt Petunia's sharp scream of fear was heard from downstairs.
Harry's heart skipped a beat. His nerves, which had just relaxed, tensed up again, and a sense of foreboding enveloped him.
The sharp scream seemed like a prelude to a tragedy, foreshadowing that some unknown disaster was rapidly approaching.
Although Harry tried hard to get rid of the uneasiness in his heart, Aunt Petunia's voice set off a chain reaction, and the entire Dursley family seemed to be shrouded in a tense atmosphere.
Harry ran out in a hurry to check the situation. Every step he took seemed extremely hurried, as if his pace could keep up with the speed of his heartbeat.
