Hogwarts Lion Girl
Chapter 115 George's Handkerchief
At this moment, the old wooden door of the classroom made a dull "creaking" sound, breaking the silence.
Fred and Salina turned their heads at the same time and saw George walking in from the door in a hurry.
George walked quickly, almost jogging, holding a thick History of Magic textbook in his hand, the pages of which were turning rustlingly in his hurried footsteps.
The sunlight filtered through the window, casting a golden spot of light behind him, making his hurried figure look particularly slender.
"Fred! Are you bullying Salina again?!" George's voice echoed in the empty classroom, breaking the original atmosphere.
Fred felt a burning sensation on his face, and his fingertips seemed to still have the warmth of Salina's hair, which made him even more flustered.
He withdrew his hand as if he had been electrocuted, and his fingertips curled unnaturally on the table, as if they had been burned.
He suddenly raised his head and glared at George with dissatisfaction, as if blaming George for his inappropriate behavior.
"What nonsense are you talking about? Who bullied her?" Fred's voice unconsciously rose a few degrees, with a hint of anger in his tone.
George narrowed his eyes suspiciously, looking back and forth between Fred and Salina. He noticed that the tips of Fred's ears were suspiciously red.
"Then why are you so close to her?" George's tone was teasing, and he deliberately prolonged the ending of the word, which made Fred even more embarrassed.
"I..." Fred opened his mouth and wanted to explain, but found that he couldn't find a suitable reason.
He couldn't say that he was attracted by Salina's beauty and couldn't help but want to get closer to her, right?
Just then, Salina coughed lightly, breaking the stalemate.
"I was explaining the contents of the Potions class to Fred." Salina said quickly, trying to ease the awkward atmosphere.
"Really?" George raised his eyebrows, obviously not believing Salina's explanation. He looked at Fred with a hint of suspicion, "When did Fred become interested in Potions class?"
"I..." Fred was speechless. George's words were like a needle that pierced his panicked heart. He stood up suddenly, wanting to explain, but he didn't know what to say.
In a panic, his arm hit the corner of the table, and the already unstable ink bottle on the table shook violently a few times. The mouth of the bottle tilted and was about to fall.
"Be careful!" Salina exclaimed and tried to reach out to hold the ink bottle, but it was too late.
With a "bang", the ink bottle slammed heavily on the table, and black ink suddenly gushed out like an exploding volcano.
Fred felt a flash before his eyes, and a pungent smell of ink hit his face. His ears were filled with Salina's exclamations and George's surprised cries.
Before he could react, he felt a stream of cold liquid sliding down his forehead, sliding down his cheek, and finally dripping onto the back of his hand.
He looked down and saw black ink pouring out, splashing right onto Salina's body. The dark liquid quickly spread across her light-colored robe, like strange flowers blooming.
"Merlin's stinky socks!" Fred cursed in annoyance. The strong smell of ink made him frown.
He hurriedly pulled out a piece of parchment, but accidentally knocked over the quill pen next to it, and the ink-stained tip left a glaring mark on the tablecloth.
Salina screamed and stood up suddenly. The dark ink had already spread on her light-colored robe, like black butterflies dancing on her body.
Seeing this, George didn't bother to tease Fred anymore. He rushed to Salina in two steps, his eyes full of worry.
He took out a clean white handkerchief from his pocket and gently wiped the ink off Salina's body.
"Don't worry, it's just a little ink and it can be washed off easily." George comforted softly, with a hint of tenderness in his tone that he himself did not realize.
Salina stared blankly at the boy in front of her who suddenly became gentle and considerate, and for a moment she even forgot to react.
George's handkerchief exuded a faint lavender scent. It was specially prepared for him by Mrs. Weasley, who said it could drive away those annoying elves.
Normally, George always felt that this fragrance was too sweet, but at this moment, this smell made him feel extremely at ease.
He carefully placed the handkerchief over the hem of Salina's skirt, absorbing the spreading ink stains bit by bit.
His movements were very gentle, as if he was afraid of hurting her. His fingertips occasionally touched her robe, and the soft touch made his heart tremble slightly.
Salina's eyes fell on his hands, which were a pair of slender white hands with distinct knuckles. They had the unique sense of strength of a teenager, yet were unexpectedly gentle.
His approach made Salina feel a little warm. A strange feeling spread in her heart, and her cheeks couldn't help but blush, like clouds stained with the morning glow, so beautiful and tempting.
"Thank you, thank you, George." Salina's voice was as soft as a breeze, her eyes were wandering, and she didn't dare to look him in the eye.
"You're welcome." George raised his head and met Selina's gaze. Her eyes, as clear as a lake in spring, were reflecting his own figure, which made his already panicked heart skip a beat involuntarily.
He had never observed Salina so closely before. Her skin was white and delicate, as if transparent; her eyes were big and bright, like the starry sky at night, clear and deep; her eyelashes were long and curly, like two small fans, trembling gently, as if plucking his heartstrings.
"Sorry, I just..." Fred moved his lips, wanting to explain that it was just an accident, but he found that his throat was dry and he couldn't make any sound.
He saw George bending down to wipe the hem of Salina's skirt, his eyes focused and gentle. The twin brothers who usually laughed and joked and were not serious seemed so reliable at this moment.
Fred felt a sour taste rising in his nose. He blinked hard, trying to see clearly the emotions churning in his chest, but found that it was like an overturned ink bottle, dyeing his heart into a blurry color.
Sharina felt Fred's gaze, and the blush on her cheeks deepened. She pulled the corners of her mouth unnaturally and said softly to George: "George, I'm fine, really."
As she spoke, she took a step back inconspicuously, trying to distance herself from George.
George's hand was still in the air. Hearing Selina's words, he withdrew his hand reluctantly, but his eyes were still on Selina's face, reluctant to move away.
Fred saw both Salina's dodging and George's lingering feelings. He felt that the vague color in his heart became even stronger. The air was filled with a faint scent of lavender mixed with the smell of ink. The atmosphere in the classroom suddenly became a little subtle.
"Well, I'll see if there's any spell that can remove the ink stain." Fred moved his lips, wanting to say something to break the awkward silence, but he found his throat was dry and could only squeeze out such a meaningless sentence.
He fled from the classroom in a hurry, as if some flood beast was chasing him.
George looked at Fred's hurriedly leaving back, then looked at Salina's expression, and vaguely understood something in his heart.
He rubbed his fingers gently on the table, as if trying to calm himself down through this action.
Unfamiliar emotions came over him like a surging tide. In order to hide his uneasiness, he coughed lightly to cover up his embarrassment and said to Salina, "I'll leave first. I'll find a way to solve the problem of clothes."
After saying that, he turned around hastily, his steps hesitant, as if he was reluctant to leave. The door of the classroom slowly closed behind him, as if sealing up him and that subtle feeling.
Salina looked at the strange situation of the two brothers, then looked down at her "new" skirt stained with ink, sighed helplessly, and smoothed the hem of her skirt with her hand.
She shook her head gently, put her messy thoughts behind her, pulled out a chair and sat down, opened the parchment again, and focused her attention on the magic notes in front of her.
