Hogwarts Lion Girl
Chapter 121 Michael's Acoustic Guitar
When Salina walked out of the restricted books area, she found that night had fallen.
The stars above Hogwarts Castle were brighter than she had ever seen anywhere in London.
They are like diamonds scattered on black velvet, shining with charming light.
She took a deep breath. The air in Hogwarts was always filled with a faint scent of grass, mixed with the scent of ancient magic, which made people feel inexplicably at ease.
"What are you thinking about?" A familiar voice came from above my head, with a smile.
Salina looked up at the sound and saw Michael Corner leaning against the wall of the corridor. The dim magic light cast a soft halo behind him. He was not wearing a school robe today. The collar of his white shirt was casually unbuttoned, revealing his well-defined collarbone. He was holding an acoustic guitar in his hand, which made him look even more lazy and casual.
"Why are you here?" Selina opened her eyes slightly wide in surprise, her gaze swept across Michael's old acoustic guitar and finally fell on his face.
Michael stood up and casually put his guitar behind his back. He took two steps forward until the dim magic light in the corridor illuminated the smile on his face. "Waiting for you." He smiled, showing his white teeth. "I've been waiting for you here for almost an hour."
Salina lowered her head somewhat embarrassedly, reached out to tuck a strand of hair that had fallen to her cheek behind her ear, and said, "I'm sorry, it took longer than I thought to sort out those books."
Michael didn't say anything, but just narrowed his eyes slightly. In the dim light of the corridor, Salina couldn't see the expression on his face, but she could feel that the aura around him seemed a little colder.
He took down the wooden guitar from his back, held it in his arms, and plucked the strings a few times nonchalantly, making a few crisp sounds. Then he slowly asked, "With Malfoy?" There was no emotion in Michael's tone.
Salina nodded and said, "Well, he needed to find a book, and I happened to be there, so we went together." She tried to make her tone sound relaxed and natural.
The corridor was silent for a moment, with only the occasional crackling of the torches on the wall.
Michael lowered his head, and his slender fingers plucked the guitar strings seemingly unintentionally. The strings vibrated and emitted a few low notes, as if responding to her, but also as if hiding something.
After a moment, Michael raised his head again, his face regaining his usual relaxed smile. He changed the position of the guitar in his arms, pointed to the spiral staircase at the end of the corridor, and changed the subject: "The scenery at the observatory is nice, do you want to go and see it together?"
Salina looked in the direction of Michael's finger. The ancient spiral staircase looked a little mysterious under the dim magic light.
"I recently learned a new song and I want to play it for you." Michael's voice echoed in the empty corridor, his tone full of anticipation.
Salina wanted to refuse and find an excuse to leave, but Michael's expectant eyes made her unable to speak. Moreover, she was indeed persuaded by him. After a whole night in the restricted book area, it was time to go out and breathe some fresh air and feel the coolness of the night.
……
The wind in the observatory was very strong, blowing Salina's hair. A few strands of hair brushed against her cheeks, bringing the coolness of the night.
Looking up, the spires of Hogwarts Castle outline a strange silhouette in the night sky, like an ancient giant guarding this land.
The dark forbidden forest in the distance was like a sleeping beast, and the occasional calls of unknown birds made the night seem even quieter.
Michael sat down next to Selina. The night wind blew the hair on his forehead. His slender fingers gently plucked the strings of the piano, and a soft and soothing melody flowed in the night sky.
"Did you write this yourself?" Salina turned her head slightly and her eyes fell on Michael's profile. The night breeze blew, and she smelled a faint woody scent emanating from him, mixed with the coolness of the night.
Michael shook his head gently, his eyes still on the guitar in his hand, his slender fingers gently plucking the strings, as if recalling something, "No, I'm not that good yet." He paused, raised his head, and gave Salina a warm smile, his eyes flashing with confidence, "But I adapted it a little bit."
Salina didn't say anything, but just listened quietly. The night wind blew past her ears, bringing the rustling sound of the forbidden forest in the distance, as if responding to this moving melody.
Michael's singing voice is beautiful, clear and warm, as if telling a touching story.
Salina couldn't help but close her eyes and let the song flow into her heart. Every note was like a star twinkling in the night sky, illuminating a corner of her heart.
The sound of the guitar gradually faded away, and Michael's gaze moved from his fingertips to Selina's profile. In the moonlight, he saw her fair skin, slightly glowing, and a few strands of hair blown by the wind, brushing against her cheeks, but she didn't care at all, just staring at the starry sky intently, her deep eyes reflecting the starlight, so beautiful that people couldn't take their eyes away.
"You seem to like looking at the stars very much." Michael's voice sounded in her ears, with a hint of imperceptible tenderness. Salina could even feel his warm breath gently brushing across her earlobes, bringing a tingling touch.
Salina was slightly startled, then slowly turned her head to look at Michael. His eyes were deep and bright, as if they also contained a starry sky.
"Well, the stars are beautiful, and they always make people feel at ease." Salina said softly, her eyes returning to the night sky. The vast river of stars flickered in her eyes, as if within reach.
"Just like you." Michael said suddenly. His voice was very soft, but it was like a firework exploding in Salina's ears.
Salina was stunned, not knowing how to answer, and could only stare at Michael blankly.
After realizing his gaffe, Michael felt his cheeks getting slightly hot. He cleared his throat awkwardly to hide his embarrassment, and his eyes wandered to the twinkling stars in the night sky.
Taking a deep breath, he pointed in the direction of the Big Dipper and began to tell the ancient legends behind these stars.
While talking, he secretly glanced at Salina beside him out of the corner of his eye and found that she was listening attentively. The starlight outlined her delicate profile, making her look particularly gentle and moving.
As the night deepened, it slowly descended like a huge piece of dark blue velvet, wrapping the entire world.
On the sky, stars are dotted, sparkling with dazzling light like broken diamonds, making the night sky extraordinarily bright.
The air is filled with the fragrance of grass and soil, mixed with the unique coolness of the night. Taking a deep breath is refreshing.
Not far away, several Gothic spires stand quietly in the night, like ancient guardians guarding this peaceful land.
The shadows of the trees in the forbidden forest in the distance appear even darker under the starlight, and the occasional chirping of insects adds a bit of tranquility.
