Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 122 Winter Vacation

The winter at Hogwarts seems very long, but the warm fire and the wafting aroma of butter in the castle always drive away the cold and bring a sense of home.

Time passed quietly amid the shouts of Quidditch matches, the bubbling of cauldrons in Potions class, and the rustling of parchment in the library.

Before we knew it, Christmas was getting closer and the castle was filled with a festive atmosphere.

Magical snowflakes floated from the ceiling of the Great Hall, the corridors were decorated with glittering ribbons and holly branches, and the air was filled with the aroma of barbecue and desserts, all of which heralded the arrival of a long and happy winter vacation.

Sharina hugged her friends and said goodbye, and agreed to write to each other during the holidays and share Christmas gifts with each other. The air was filled with sadness of parting, but more of it was anticipation and joy for the holidays.

The train whistled loudly, and the wheels slowly rolled, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of the platform and the farewells. Salina looked out the window, and the silhouette of Hogwarts Castle gradually faded away until it disappeared in the white snow.

The train whizzed away from Hogwarts, and the scenery outside the window changed from the familiar mountains and fields to a magical world covered in silver. Snowflakes fluttered down from the sky, like countless light white elves spinning and dancing in the air, covering the earth with a thick silver blanket. The rolling hills in the distance were covered with snow, like a sleeping giant, revealing only the soft curves outlined by the snow. The village at the foot of the mountain was also covered with snow, and the twinkling lights shone through the windows, adding a touch of warmth and vitality to this silver world. Occasionally, you can see a few sparrows jumping on the snow, looking for food covered by the snow.

As the train sped along, the snow scene outside the window kept changing, sometimes open, sometimes passing through a snowy forest, with fluffy snowflakes hanging on the branches, like crystal clear ice and snow sculptures. Occasionally, the sun penetrated the clouds and shone on the snow, reflecting a dazzling light, which was so beautiful that it made people dizzy.

The train slowed down and finally stopped at a busy platform. Through the window, Salina saw the bustling crowd. The wizards were wearing robes and pointed hats. Some were pushing carts full of luggage, some were holding owl cages, and some were hugging their families and friends. A huge metal sign was hung above the platform, which read "Platform Nine and Three Quarters". Salina took a deep breath and showed an expectant smile on her face. She knew that she was finally home.

Salina picked up her suitcase and stepped off the train. The biting cold wind mixed with snowflakes blew towards her, and she couldn't help but tighten her cloak. People were coming and going on the platform, and the air was filled with the joy of reunion and warm voices. Salina looked around and soon found a familiar figure in the crowd. Butler Donald was still as meticulous as ever, standing upright in a corner of the platform with a hand warmer in his hand. When he saw Salina, he showed a kind smile on his face and walked quickly to greet her.

Salina exhaled lightly and took the hand warmer handed to her by Donald. As soon as her cold fingers touched the warm metal, a warm current instantly spread from her palm to her whole body, dispelling the fatigue and coldness of the journey.

Donald took over the heavy box from Salina, with a hint of concern in his cloudy blue eyes. He slightly turned sideways to block the flow of people behind him, and asked gently, "Miss, was your journey smooth?"

"Everything is going well. How's the situation of the group?" Salina asked, with a hint of barely perceptible fatigue in her tone.

"It's basically on the right track, but you still need to go in person to negotiate with the Higgs family." Donald replied in a respectful tone.

Salina moved the hand warmer to her left hand, rubbed her stiff right fingers, exhaled a breath of white air, and asked: "Everything is going well, how is the group's situation?" Perhaps because of the fatigue of the journey, her voice sounded with a hint of imperceptible fatigue.

"Thanks to you, everything is fine." Donald bowed slightly and replied respectfully, "The group is basically on the right track, but the business negotiations with the Higgs family still require you to go in person."

The two of them walked through the bustling crowd, and Donald stopped in front of a black car, opened the door, and motioned for Salina to get in first.

Salina bent down and got into the car, and immediately felt a warm current rushing towards her, mixed with a faint scent of leather.

There were still some melted snowflakes left on the car windows, reflecting crystal light under the dim street lights outside the window.

After Donald put Salina's suitcase into the trunk, he walked around the front of the car, sat in the driver's seat, and started the car skillfully.

Salina took off her heavy cloak, gently shook off the snowflakes on it, then curled up in the soft seat and took a document handed to her by Donald and began to read it.

Donald turned the key and started the car, and the steady engine sound broke the winter silence.

The car drove smoothly onto the snow-covered road, and the wheels made a slight "crunching" sound as they rolled over the snow, which was particularly clear in the quiet winter day.

After returning to Swinburne Manor, Salina immediately went to the bathroom on the second floor under Donald's arrangement. The bathroom was already filled with the faint fragrance of aromatherapy candles. In the hot steam, several bottles of essential oils that Salina often used were vaguely visible next to the bathtub. She shed the fatigue of the journey, sank into the hot water, felt the warm water wrapping around her body, and the fatigue of the day seemed to dissipate in this warmth.

After washing up, Salina changed into the soft home clothes prepared by the maid. The faint floral scent lingered around her nose, making her feel relaxed. She gently opened the bathroom door, and the warm light immediately dispelled the slight chill in the corridor. Salina walked downstairs.

The fire in the fireplace was burning brightly, casting a warm glow throughout the room and dispelling the winter chill.

Donald got up and pulled out the sofa covered with a soft wool blanket for Salina, then gently covered Salina's legs with another blanket.

The kitchen soon delivered the gingerbread that Donald had asked for. The sweet aroma and warm moisture filled the air.

Salina took the document, picked up a piece of gingerbread and took a bite, savoring the spiciness of ginger and the sweetness of syrup, while listening to Donald's report on the recent affairs of the manor.

After a long time, Salina gently closed the document in her hand and placed it on the coffee table beside her with a slight "dong" sound. She rubbed her sore eyes. Reading the document for a long time made her eyes feel dry.

She raised her head and looked out the window. The silvery moonlight poured in through the window lattice, casting a hazy halo on the floor.

There was a subtle and rhythmic knock on the door. Salina turned around and saw a young maid coming in with a tray. On the tray was an exquisitely crafted dress. The hem of the dress was embellished with tiny silver beads, which sparkled in the candlelight.

The maid gently placed the tray on the table, bent her knees slightly, and said softly, "Miss, this is the dress you will wear for your meeting with the Higgs family tomorrow. Do you want to try it on now?"

Salina nodded slightly, reached out to take the dress from the maid, her fingertips touched the silky satin, and felt the fine embroidery on it.

The maid then brought a full-length mirror into the room, tried the dress on Salina, and began to help her put it on.

The exquisite dress was quite complicated to put on. Salina cooperated by raising her arms slightly so that the maid could fasten the pearl buttons on the back for her.

After the maid helped her get dressed, a dedicated tailor soon came in to help Salina sort out her clothes and see if there was any size adjustment that needed to be made.

Afterwards, Salina went into the bathroom, brushed her teeth and washed her face carefully, then climbed onto the soft big bed. The warm bedding exuded a faint fragrance, making her feel extremely relaxed.

Salina closed her eyes and soon fell asleep.

Donald gently pushed open the door. There was only a dim bedside lamp left in the room. He walked to the bed, looked at Salina's peaceful sleeping face, and gently tucked the corner of the quilt for her.

Then he walked to the wall and reached out to turn off the light in her room.
