Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 2 New Goal

"Ms. Salina, I don't think your decision is correct." Donald's voice was full of incomprehension and depression.

As she wrote her reply, Salina tried to comfort the old man in front of her, "Please don't worry. I am not completely unprepared for this matter."

Donald's face looked very ugly. He looked at the owl eating leisurely in the house with a frown, as if every detail was increasing his displeasure.

His eyes, which had seen the precipitation of time, seemed to flash with a hint of impatience at this moment.

The owl was unaware of the bird's leisurely attitude and continued with its feast.

Donald tapped his fingers on the back of his hand, and the uncontrollable irritability seemed to be released through this silent action.

Such germ-filled creatures should not be allowed into the house at all, let alone eating in the study.

"Miss, you should go to the aristocratic school as planned, get admitted to a prestigious university, and add a strong and colorful stroke to the glory of the Swinburne family." Donald became obviously excited. He suddenly pulled his hand out from his sleeve, tightly grasped the letter in Salina's hand, and almost instantly snatched it from Salina's fingertips.

Donald's movements were swift and decisive, just like how he had swiftly snatched the silver key from a child at a family banquet decades ago.

Donald's expression was serious and unquestionable, with a rare stubbornness that showed that he was unwilling to accept such a ridiculous reason.

There seemed to be a heavy pressure in the air, the sound of the owl eating became unusually clear, and Donald's eyes seemed to carry a firmness that could not be challenged.

Salina sighed and walked forward to hold Donald's somewhat old hands.

Donald's hands were covered with traces of time, and his skin was like the parchment on an ancient map, rough and loose.

The spots on his knuckles were like coordinates on an ancient map, witnessing every detail of his long life.

His fingers, once long and nimble, were now slightly bent, and every curve seemed to speak of his loyalty and hard work in serving the Swinburne family.

The warm and dry touch conveys his calmness and composure after experiencing many vicissitudes of life.

"I know what you're thinking, and I know you're doing this for my own good, but..." Salina raised her head and looked into Donald's eyes.

Donald's eyes reveal the accumulation of years, and they seem to be able to see through the depth of people's hearts.

His pupils were deep and surrounded by fine wrinkles, each of which seemed to record an unknown story.

Although it is old, the gleam in it is still sharp.

Salina said softly, "I am the only one left in the Swinburne family. Do you think such a big piece of cake can remain intact in an environment surrounded by wolves?"

Donald's body shook violently, as if Selina's words touched the deepest corner of his heart.

His eyes suddenly widened and his pupils contracted, revealing a hint of disbelief.

His chest rose and fell and his breathing became noticeably heavier. It seemed as if there was an emotion churning in his chest, but he tried hard to suppress it.

Donald was silent for a long time, then slowly, almost painfully, he opened his mouth, his voice low and hoarse, like a withered leaf trembling in the wind:

"Miss, are you...giving up?"

His voice was filled with reluctance and struggle, like a call from the distant past, or like the deepest sigh from the deep sea.

At this moment, Donald's heart seemed to have experienced a deep shock, completely destroying all his inherent thought structures.

The look he gave Salina was full of complexity, including disappointment, confusion, and a deep sense of powerlessness.

Salina shook her head and comforted him, "Of course not. I have never given up the honor of the Swinburne family. My choice is to work hard for this purpose."

Donald's eyebrows were gathered together, as if two sharp sword-like eyebrows crossed in front of his eyebrows, forming an insurmountable bridge.

There was a hint of hesitation and confusion in his eyes, as if he was constantly replaying Salina's words in his mind, trying to find logical clues from them.

Donald's eyes swayed left and right, as if he was searching for an answer that did not exist in the air, or perhaps he was searching for those lost glorious memories related to his family.

The light reflected fragments in Donald's eyes, highlighting the confusion in his eyes, a confusion mixed with past glory and uncertainty about the future.

Donald's lips opened and closed slightly, as if he wanted to say something, but in the end he just let out a weak sigh.

His hands hung at his sides, his fingertips trembling slightly, as if he was holding an invisible key but was lost in a huge maze.

Salina patiently explained to him, "This world has magic. It is a powerful force that can make me, who is so fragile at the moment, become stronger."

Salina gently took the letter from Donald's hand and handed it to the owl that was still eating.

The well-fed owl looked particularly contented, its feathers were shiny and its eyes were sparkling with intelligence.

It slowly stepped onto the windowsill, stretching its broad wings, as if enjoying every stretch of its wings.

Then the owl flapped its wings and flew high, its graceful and powerful wings bringing up a breeze, and it all seemed so natural and easy.

It drew a beautiful arc in the air and disappeared into the darkening sky, leaving only a string of light feathers floating in the night sky.

Donald stood by the window, staring at the owl disappearing into the twilight, without saying a word for a long time.

Time seemed to stop in this brief silence. His face was filled with complex expressions, including doubt, unwillingness, but more of confusion about the future.

Donald looked at the sky in the distance and murmured to himself, "Is there really magic in this world?"

Salina reached out and pinched a feather, then turned to Donald and smiled, "Of course, please trust my choice. From childhood to adulthood, when have I ever let you down?"

Donald slowly came back to his senses, a hint of determination flashing in his eyes.

He took a deep breath and then exhaled slowly, as if to dispel the confusion in his heart and allow new beliefs to become clear.

Donald looked at Salina and a smile appeared on the corner of his lips. That smile was full of doting, but also of the courage to give it a try.

He said softly, "As you said, Miss, you have never let me down, I believe you."

It's like following a ray of light in the dark night, or following a navigation lighthouse in the rough sea.

Salina looked at him and felt a warm feeling in her heart.

This old man had experienced many hardships, but he was still willing to trust her. So, she must not let him down.

Next, work hard to become the most powerful wizard.
