Hogwarts Lion Girl
Chapter 229 Hagrid's Brother
The sunlight shines through the leaves of the dense forest, leaving mottled shadows on the ground.
Hagrid's burly figure led the way, looking back from time to time at Harry, Ron and Hermione behind him.
Their destination this time was the depths of the Forbidden Forest. Hagrid looked solemn, as if he had something important to tell them.
"Harry, I'm in some trouble," Hagrid lowered his voice, rubbing his large hands nervously, "I need your help."
Just then, a group of Centaurs walked out from the depths of the woods. They were tall and strong, holding bows and arrows, and stared at Hagrid with unfriendly expressions.
The Centaur leader lowered his head and questioned Hagrid in a stern tone: "The forest where we have lived for generations is being destroyed. You must give us an explanation!"
It turns out that the Ministry of Magic is expanding, and the first to be affected are the residents of the Forbidden Forest.
Large areas of trees were cut down and the habitats of many magical creatures were destroyed, including the centaurs.
Hagrid sighed helplessly, he knew the Centaur's anger, but he could do nothing about it.
"I'm sorry, but I'm only a warden of the Forbidden Forest. I can't stop the Ministry of Magic's decision."
The Centaur leader shook his head in disappointment. He knew that Hagrid was telling the truth, but who could they rely on?
The group of centaurs left with disappointment and anger. Hagrid looked at their backs with worry in his eyes.
At this moment, a huge figure walked out from behind the tree. Hermione screamed in fright and stepped back repeatedly.
It was a giant, twice as tall as Hagrid. He wore a tattered hat on his head, animal skins on his body, and held a huge wooden club in his hand.
However, the giant did not come closer. He was tied to a big tree with a thick rope and could not move.
"This is my brother, Grawp." Hagrid said in a low voice, "After Headmaster Dumbledore disappeared, I may be expelled from the school at any time. I must find a safe place for him."
Harry and the other two looked at the poor giant in front of them, their hearts filled with sympathy. Although they were a little scared, they agreed to Hagrid's request without hesitation and said that they would come to the Forbidden Forest to visit Grawp often and do their best to take care of him.
Hagrid nodded gratefully, a relieved smile on his face.
……
That day, Professor Snape, with a gloomy face, took Harry to the secret room of the Potions classroom.
Under the dim candlelight, Professor Snape performed Legilimency again, and Harry felt all kinds of chaotic fragments of memory flooding into his mind like a tide, impacting his consciousness.
He tried hard to resist, but he was powerless and could only let all those various memories roll through his mind.
After trying again and again and failing again and again, Harry still couldn't learn the brain-blocking technique and lowered his head in frustration.
Professor Snape smiled contemptuously, his tone full of sarcasm: "Why, Potter, you can't even learn such a simple spell? You are just like your father, lazy and arrogant!"
Harry was furious when he heard Snape belittling his father.
He raised his head sharply, his eyes fixed on Snape, his fingers holding the wand turning slightly white from the excessive force.
"Shut up!" Harry roared, pointing his wand directly at Snape.
Snape obviously did not expect Harry to have such a violent reaction. He was slightly stunned, and before he could react, he felt a powerful mental force suddenly crash into his mind.
Professor Snape's face turned pale in an instant, and he staggered back a step as if he had suffered a huge blow.
Harry could feel that Professor Snape's mind was churning with thoughts like a raging storm, and those deeply hidden memories were surging out like a flood breaking through a dam.
Harry saw it, saw the young Snape, thin, withdrawn, with a gloomy temperament.
He saw his mother, Lily, illuminating Snape's dark world like a ray of sunshine.
He also saw his father, James, full of vigor and vitality, but with a disgusting arrogance.
Then, the scene changed, and Harry saw an unbelievable scene: James and his friends - his godfather Sirius, Professor Lupin, and Peter who betrayed them, they laughed at Snape together, humiliated him with vicious words, and even cast a curse on him.
Harry couldn't accept what he saw. It was far from the tall image of his father in his mind.
His father, the father he had always been proud of, had actually treated others so cruelly.
Harry's heart was filled with shock, confusion and anger. Perhaps, perhaps this was why Professor Snape had always hated him.
Snape came back to his senses at this moment and groaned, and shook his head violently as if to throw Harry out of his mind.
He pointed at the office door, his chest heaving violently, his anger almost burning his sanity, "Get out! From today on, you don't have to come to class anymore, the special training is over!"
Harry stood there in a daze, with complicated emotions intertwined in his heart.
He felt sorry for intruding into Professor Snape's privacy, and was angry at Professor Snape's prejudice against his father. He was also a little overwhelmed.
But when he met Professor Snape's icy, murderous eyes, he could not say anything. He could only lower his head and quickly leave the office.
The portraits in the corridor cast curious glances at him, but he had no time to pay attention and left in a hurry.
Harry wandered around the campus like a ghost who had lost his soul. The scenes in Snape's mind replayed in front of him again and again. The destruction of his father's perfect image made him feel indescribable discomfort in his heart.
He walked aimlessly and unknowingly reached the third floor of the castle. The corridor was empty, with only faint moonlight coming in from the window.
At this moment, he noticed a slight sobbing sound coming from the windowsill at the corner of the corridor. The sound was suppressed and sad, like the whimpering of a wounded little animal.
Curious, Harry slowed down his pace, tiptoed over, and looked around the corner.
He saw a thin figure huddled on the windowsill, with his hands on his knees and his head buried deep in his arms.
Harry recognized him; he was the youngest boy signed up for his tutorial group.
Umbridge's punishment was regardless of age, and this young child was not spared. He must have been unable to bear the pain from the wound on his hand, so he was hiding here and crying secretly.
Beside the boy, Fred and George were comforting him softly. The usual playfulness on their faces was gone, replaced by a rare seriousness and tenderness.
They took some of their joke products that had not been confiscated and tried to make the boy laugh, hoping to use laughter to dispel the haze that shrouded his heart.
