Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 72 Chasing the Big Black Dog

The black dog was running very fast, and Salina gradually became unable to keep up.

Just when she was about to give up the pursuit, the black dog stopped at a street corner. It turned around anxiously, whimpering from time to time, as if waiting for something. Salina approached cautiously, hiding behind a pile of trash cans, and observed with her head out.

Under the dim street lights, Salina saw a figure standing in front of the black dog. It was a thin boy with a panicked face under his messy black hair. Salina recognized him at a glance, it was Harry!

Salina quickly connected everything together and the big black dog was Sirius who escaped from prison.

……

Harry watched as a snow-white fox suddenly rushed out from the darkness and pounced straight towards him. He was so scared that he instinctively stepped back but was accidentally knocked to the ground.

"Ouch!" Harry cried out in pain and sat down on the ground.

Only then did Salina realize her mistake. She hurriedly climbed up from Harry and circled around him anxiously, trying to explain clearly, but no sound came out.

"Damn Transfiguration, why does it fail at this moment!" Salina wailed in her heart.

Harry was still in shock after falling, but he soon realized that the white fox in front of him had no ill intentions. It was just circling anxiously, its watery eyes full of worry and concern.

Harry couldn't help but reach out and gently touch the white fox's head.

Salina was stunned for a moment, then she squinted her eyes comfortably and rubbed Harry's palm with her head.

Damn animal instincts.

"What a beautiful fox..." Harry murmured to himself. He had never seen such a beautiful creature. Its snow-white fur glowed silver in the dim light, like an elf in the moonlight.

The man and the fox just stared at each other, and a wonderful tacit understanding flowed between them.

"Wang!"

Suddenly, a low barking sound broke the silence. Salina and Harry turned back at the same time, only to see the huge black dog standing not far away, staring at them intently, with a complex light flashing in its eyes.

Sirius was obviously surprised by the appearance of Salina. He looked up and down at the little fox who suddenly appeared, and a trace of confusion flashed in his eyes. But soon, his eyes fell back on Harry.

The man, the fox and the dog were in a stalemate, and the air was filled with tension.

Just then, a sharp brake sound broke the silence.

A three-decker red bus appeared out of nowhere in front of them, as if by magic. The side of the bus even knocked over a trash can, spilling trash all over the ground, but the bus was unscathed.

A head popped out of the car window. It was a guy dressed as a conductor.

"Do you need help?" he asked gruffly, his voice like thunder. "This is the Knight Bus, a place to help witches and wizards in trouble."

The conductor, Stan Shunpike, tilted his head and looked Harry up and down, his bulging eyes like those of a popcorn fish standing out in the dim light of the carriage.

"Come on, don't waste time!" Stan knocked on the steering wheel impatiently, making a "bang bang" sound. "We are not driving a sightseeing bus. We don't have time to waste here."

Salina jumped into the car first, and Harry hesitated for a moment and followed closely behind.

The carriage was very cramped, with only a narrow aisle and a few hammocks.

“Two Sickles.” Stan held out a calloused hand.

Harry hurriedly pulled two silver Sickles from his pocket and placed them in Stan's hand.

"Where are you going?" Stan asked gruffly.

"Hmm..." Harry hesitated. He hadn't decided where to go yet.

"Ah, no place to go? The runaway little wizard..." Stan looked Harry up and down.

"To London!" said Harry quickly. "Yes, to the Leaky Cauldron!"

"London!" Stan shouted from the cab.

Hearing this, the gray-haired driver pulled the joystick hard, and the bus made a deafening roar and disappeared into the night in an instant.

The bus jolted violently, and Harry felt dizzy, and then fell onto something soft and warm.

He struggled to stand up, and then he found himself lying on a furry thing. The snow-white fur swayed in front of his eyes, and a faint fragrance penetrated his nostrils, like the smell of moonflower and honey mixed together.

"Yes, I'm sorry!" Harry's face turned red. He tried to get up in a hurry, but almost fell again because the carriage was too narrow.

The white fox uttered a soft "woooo" to indicate that she was not injured. She shook her fur and curled up in the corner of the hammock again.

Harry stood there awkwardly, trying to calm his pounding heart. He couldn't help but secretly look at the white fox, which curled up like a stuffed toy, making people want to reach out and touch it.

The bus continued to bump along, and the car was filled with all kinds of strange noises, like someone was playing a symphony with a broken pot.

Harry gripped the hammock's arms tightly. "What kind of magic is this?"

"Knight Bus, emergency transportation." An old voice came from the second floor, and an old woman wearing thick glasses poked her head out of the hammock. "You should be lucky to have encountered it, young man."

The bus suddenly braked, and Harry and the white fox were thrown to the corner of the car and hit a pile of luggage.

"Damn it!" A rude voice sounded in the carriage, "Who threw these stinky socks around? Do you want to suffocate me to death?"

Harry and the white fox looked at each other. They both smelled an indescribable stench, like a mixture of rotten eggs and moldy cheese.

A bearded wizard jumped down from the hammock, holding a dirty sock in his hand, and looked around angrily, as if trying to find the culprit.

Stan waved at him, "You should get off the bus now, we've reached our destination, Beard!"

After the man got off the bus, the bus took off again.

But this time, Harry and Serena were mentally prepared and were not thrown out.

The bus was bumping on the bumpy road, and the furnishings in the car made a clanking sound with the vibration. Harry felt that his bones were about to be shaken apart. He tightly grasped the edge of the hammock and resisted the urge to vomit.

Stan noticed Harry's embarrassment and grinned, revealing his yellow teeth. "First time riding the Knight Bus? This is way more exciting than a broomstick, kid!"

Harry forced a smile; he was in no mood to enjoy this kind of "excitement" right now.

"Come to think of it, you haven't told me why you're going to the Leaky Cauldron?" Stan asked with interest.

"I just..." Harry hesitated, not sure how to explain.

Stan looked at Harry's embarrassed expression, suddenly lowered his voice, and said mysteriously, "I heard that things in the Ministry of Magic have been unsettled recently. A dangerous guy escaped from Azkaban prison!"

Harry's heart skipped a beat. "Azkaban Prison?" He had read the description of this prison in a book. It was a terrible place shrouded in darkness and despair all year round, and it imprisoned many vicious criminals.

"Yes, it's that terrible place!" Stan lowered his voice, as if afraid of being heard by someone, "The guy who escaped is called Sirius Black, and he is a complete lunatic! It is said that he used to be a loyal supporter of the mysterious man. In order to help the mysterious man, he killed more than a dozen of his friends with his own hands, and even betrayed his best friend, causing the other's family to be brutally murdered!"

Harry felt a chill running down his feet and he unconsciously folded his arms.

"What's even more terrifying is that it is said that Black is a master of disguise. He can change into anyone's appearance at will! So, now the whole wizarding world is in a panic, fearing that this murderer will suddenly appear next to them!" Stan said as he exaggeratedly made a gesture of wiping his neck.

Harry couldn't help but shudder, "Then...then what countermeasures does the Ministry of Magic have now?"

"What other solutions are there?" Stan shrugged. "They are now searching the world for Blake! But this guy is very cunning, and they haven't caught him yet!"
