Hogwarts Lion Girl
Chapter 73: Back to the Leaky Cauldron
The bus suddenly braked, and Harry lost his balance and almost fell to the ground.
"We're here at the Leaky Cauldron!" Stan shouted and jumped out of the car first.
After putting Harry's luggage down, he tipped his hat to Harry and said, "Goodbye, Harry."
Then he jumped on, and the bus vanished again as suddenly as it had appeared.
……
The Leaky Cauldron was bustling with people, and the air was filled with the aroma of butterbeer and barbecue.
Harry held the white fox in his left hand and dragged his suitcase with his right hand, standing at the door at a loss.
At this moment, a familiar figure suddenly appeared in front of them. He was wearing a funny purple hat with an emerald feather on it, and a pair of small round-framed glasses on his round face, looking at Harry with a smile.
"Harry Potter!" he held out his hand warmly. "I'm Cornelius Fudge, Minister for Magic."
Harry was stunned for a moment, and subconsciously held Fudge's hand. Fudge's hand was soft, like a ball of over-fermented dough.
"Hello, Minister Fudge," Harry said stiffly.
"Don't be nervous, kid." Fudge said with a smile, "I'm just worried about you, so I came to see you."
"You're worried about me?" Harry asked doubtfully, "Why?"
Fudge sighed and lowered his voice and said, "I heard about what happened in your family, and Dumbledore also told me about your situation. I know you have suffered a lot, but running away from home is not the solution to the problem."
Harry's face flushed immediately. He didn't expect that what he did impulsively would alarm the Minister of Magic.
"I..." Harry wanted to explain, but didn't know how to say it.
"I know, I know." Fudge patted Harry's shoulder. "Don't worry, I've already made arrangements. You will live in the Leaky Cauldron during this time, and I will send someone to protect your safety. You can return to Hogwarts after the summer vacation."
Harry opened his mouth, but Fudge didn't give him a chance to speak.
"Okay, it's settled. They've already arranged a room for you, so go to bed early."
Before Harry could react, Fudge turned and left.
"This..." Harry looked at Fudge's receding back, not knowing what to say for a moment.
The Leaky Cauldron was bustling with all kinds of people coming and going, including wizards in robes, fashionably dressed witches, and a few goblins whispering in the corner, as if they were plotting something.
……
"You'll sleep here tonight." The clerk carried Harry's luggage into the room.
Before Harry could say anything, the door slammed shut, leaving him alone in the middle of the room.
The room had a creaky wooden bed, a table with peeling paint and a rickety chair, and looked to be in very ordinary condition.
Harry took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. He looked around and found a fireplace in the corner of the room, with a weak fire burning inside, barely dispelling some of the chill.
At this moment, the white fox in his arms suddenly jumped out of his arms, shook its fur gracefully, then slowly walked to the center of the room and circled in front of Harry.
The white fox's body began to change. Its hair gradually faded away, and its limbs slowly stretched out. In the blink of an eye, it turned into a young girl.
The girl has long hair like a waterfall, shining charmingly under the dim light. She has delicate facial features, fair skin, and a pair of clear and bright eyes that shine like stars in the night sky.
Harry stared at the scene in front of him, stunned, and for a moment he even forgot to breathe.
"Sa...Salina?" Harry finally found his voice, but he seemed a little stuttering.
Serena smiled, "Good evening, Harry."
"Salina, how could you...?" Harry stared blankly at the girl in front of him, "But... you just clearly..."
"You must be frightened by my appearance just now?" Salina explained with a smile, "That was my Animagus form just now, a white fox."
"Animagus?" Harry was stunned for a moment, then finally understood a little.
"Because it's my first time using it, I'm not very skilled yet. I was in a hurry just now and couldn't change back... and because I was worried about you, I followed you." Salina explained: "Now you look safe, so I'll go back first."
Salina walked to the center of the room and whispered to Harry, "It's getting late. You should go to bed early. We will go to Diagon Alley together tomorrow."
"Okay! See you tomorrow!"
Looking at Harry's excited expression, the corners of Salina's mouth could not help but slightly rise. "Well, go to bed early, see you tomorrow." After saying that, Salina Apparated and disappeared from the room.
"See you tomorrow, Salina." Harry said to the empty room, his heart full of anticipation.
……
Diagon Alley was more lively than Harry had imagined, with all kinds of shops and the air filled with all kinds of strange scents.
Serena led Harry through the crowd, and soon she was attracted by an old pharmacy material store. The window of the store was filled with all kinds of strange materials, some of which were even moving slightly.
"Boss, how much are these dried Achnatherum splendens roots?" Salina asked, pointing to a box piled with shriveled plants.
"5 Galleons a bundle, little girl, this is the freshest stuff this year." The boss was an old wizard with wrinkles all over his face. He squinted his eyes and looked at Serena. "I have a lot of good stuff here. Do you want to take a look?"
Serena bought a large amount of rare materials without hesitation, including a can of foul-smelling liquid, which the boss said was used to prepare a sleeping potion.
When Selina was looking through a pile of ancient parchments, she found a fragmentary potion formula, which recorded a potion formula called "Eternal Water". Selina became very interested in this fragment, and she decided to buy it and go back to study it carefully.
In Flourish and Blotts, Harry was buying textbooks for the new semester.
When Harry picked up the Monster Book of Monsters, he was curious about the strange appearance of the book.
The moment Harry turned the page, the book suddenly came to life and pounced on Harry with its fangs and claws bared.
"Be careful, Harry!" Serena appeared in time. She grabbed the book and quickly smoothed the spine.
"This..." Harry looked at the "Monster Book of Monsters" in shock.
"Don't worry." Serena comforted, "These books are enchanted. Just smooth the spine like this, and the book will calm down."
"You know so much, Salina." Harry said with some admiration.
"It's nothing, Harry, I just happened to see it in a book." Salina returned the book to Harry, and the two continued shopping.
Selina later bought a lot of books about ancient magic runes, which was her new research direction.
After that, the two of them bought some items that might be needed for next semester, and then returned to the Leaky Cauldron with a bunch of things.
