Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 82 Colin's Fear

Ever since Professor Snape stared at him with a cold gaze and made him copy the spells textbook as punishment, Colin would unconsciously slow down his pace every time he walked through the dark cellar corridor where the potions classroom was located. The strange smell of potions in the air reminded him of Snape's low voice and frightening tone, and he was so scared that he just wanted to take a detour.

"Merlin's stinky socks! Why is Potions class compulsory!" Colin muttered. He had to rush to the library to return a book today, but the shortcut required him to pass through the damn Potions classroom.

He took a deep breath and rushed into the corridor quickly, as if he was taking a life-or-death adventure. Just as he was about to rush out of the "enemy-occupied area", a sinister voice suddenly came from behind him:

"Mr. Creevey, I think I told you not to run in the corridor casually, right?"

Colin was so frightened that he almost died. He turned around stiffly and saw Professor Snape standing at the door of the Potions classroom with a crucible that was emitting strange smoke in his hand.

"Good afternoon, professor!" Colin stammered, wishing he could find a hole in the ground to crawl into.

Professor Snape looked at him coldly, his eyes as sharp as two knives: "It seems that your enthusiasm for Potions class is even higher than I thought. Why, can't wait to experience the fun of copying the spell textbook again?"

Colin turned pale with fear and shook his head desperately: "No, no, no, Professor, I was just passing by!"

"Passing by?" Professor Snape raised his eyebrows.

At this time, Salina came over with a crucible. When she passed by Colin, she gave him a look that said "hurry up", then walked to Professor Snape and asked, "Professor, there seems to be something wrong with my potion. Could you please help me take a look?" Professor Snape's attention was indeed attracted by Salina. He took the crucible and looked at it carefully, frowning slightly. Seeing this, Colin took the opportunity to escape from this place of trouble.

Professor Snape withdrew his gaze from Colin's fleeing back and fell on the crucible handed to him by Salina.

In the crucible, the brown potion was bubbling and emitting a burnt smell.

"Are you kidding, Miss Swinburne?" Professor Snape's voice was as cold as if it floated out of an ice cellar. "This is simply a pile of failed garbage."

Salina bit her lip and took a closer look at the potion in the crucible. Indeed, the color was much darker than the standard, and there were some suspicious black particles floating in it. "I'm sorry, Professor..."

After experiencing Snape's venomous snake attack, Salina walked out of the Potions classroom and breathed a sigh of relief.

Colin was waiting at the door. When he saw her come out, he immediately came over to greet her.

"Thank you, Salina! If it weren't for you, I would have been asked to stay behind by Professor Snape to copy the spells textbook again today!" Colin said gratefully, his voice trembling a little with nervousness.

Salina smiled and said, "It's okay, Colin. But you have to be more careful next time and don't run so fast in the corridor, or you will be caught by the professor."

"I know, I know." Colin nodded repeatedly, but Salina could see that he was still very afraid of Professor Snape.

"Colin," Salina slowed down her tone and asked, "Are you afraid of Professor Snape?"

Colin was stunned for a moment, his eyes evasive: "No, no, I just..."

"Colin, you don't have to hide it from me," Salina interrupted him, "I can see that you are afraid of him. Can you tell me why?"

Under the gentle gaze of Salina, Colin finally let down his guard. He confided to Salina the experience of being punished by Professor Snape to copy the spells textbook in the potions class, and the fear that Professor Snape's cold eyes and mocking tone brought to him.

"He said my Potions skills were terrible, and that I would become a useless wizard in the future..." Colin's voice became lower and lower, almost turning into a sob.

Salina patted his shoulder gently and comforted him, "Don't worry, Colin, Professor Snape has a sour face to everyone. Besides, I believe your potion level will improve, and I can help you practice."

"Thank you, Salina." Colin said in surprise.

……

Professor Trelawney's horrifying words kept echoing in Harry's mind. His heart seemed to be shrouded in a shadow. Fear was like a vine entwined around his heart, making it hard for him to breathe.

However, something happened today that made him feel even more uncomfortable. He looked out the window of the castle into the distance, past the edge of the Forbidden Forest, where he could vaguely see a few cozy cottages with roofs covered with snow. That was the wizarding village Hogsmeade, and third-year students could go there with the consent of their guardians.

"Without the guardian's signature, I can't let you go to Hogsmeade." Professor McGonagall looked at the frustrated Harry, with a hint of helplessness in her tone, "You know, this is the school rule." Harry nodded. He knew that what Professor McGonagall said was true, but it didn't make him feel better.

"I understand, Professor McGonagall." Harry's voice dropped like a deflated ball.

The weekend trip to Hogsmeade was something he had always been looking forward to. He wished he could go to Honeydukes to buy some fizzy honey candies, or go to the Three Broomsticks to drink a hot butterbeer and temporarily forget all his troubles.

"Perhaps I can ask Headmaster Dumbledore for you?" Professor McGonagall looked at Harry's lost expression and felt a little sorry for him. Although she was always strict and rigid, she always had a special love for Harry.

"Thank you, Professor McGonagall!" Harry's eyes suddenly lit up, as if he suddenly saw a ray of light in the darkness.

However, the flame of hope was soon extinguished. Headmaster Dumbledore seemed to be extremely busy during this period. He was always out of sight and not even Professor McGonagall knew his whereabouts.

"I'm sorry, Harry, I can't help you." Professor McGonagall patted Harry on the shoulder, turned around and led the team out of Hogwarts.

Harry watched his friends disappear from his sight as they chatted and laughed. Only when he could no longer hear their footsteps did he droop his shoulders weakly and slowly sit down on the cold stone steps.

"Hey, Harry, why are you sitting here alone?"

A voice interrupted Harry's thoughts. He looked up and saw Salina standing in front of him, her bright smile as warm as the sunshine in winter.

"Nothing, I just feel a little upset." Harry forced a smile.

"What's the trouble? Maybe I can help you?" Salina sat down next to him and asked with concern.

Harry hesitated for a moment, but finally told her that he couldn't go to Hogsmeade.

"So that's what it is," after listening to it, Salina thought for a moment and said, "Maybe someone can help you."

"Who?"
