The forest surrounding the academy was destroyed and shattered. The fallen trees were like fallen guards, silently telling of silent sorrow. The air was filled with a pungent smell of burning, the ground was covered with black ashes, and strange runes flickered faintly on the ruins.

"Hey, Gerling! You're just in time!" A quick and trembling voice came from the shadows. Gerling looked in the direction of the voice and saw his classmate Alice lying on a broken stone tablet, her face as pale as paper and full of anxiety.

"Alice, what happened?" Gerlin walked quickly forward, nervously took her hand and dragged her out of the shadows.

Alice trembled slightly, with uneasiness in her eyes. "We need to leave here quickly. It's not safe here anymore! It is said that dark wizards are already wandering around the academy. They used forbidden magic to cause this catastrophe!"

"I know the situation is bad now..." Gerlin took a breath and tried to calm himself down, "but we can't just give up. We must find other living classmates and find a way to lift these evil curses!"

Alice shook her head. "But I heard that those wizards can manipulate fear. Their magic can make people lose their minds. We may face countless phantoms and dangers."

"Illusion?" Gellin frowned. "We can't be defeated by fear! I remember our teacher once mentioned that when facing illusions, inner belief is the most powerful weapon."

A low whisper came into their ears, like a ghost floating from the abyss of the earth. Alice grabbed Gerlin's hand and said, "Listen, what is that?"

"I don't know, but we must find the source." Gerlin's eyes were firm. He adjusted the magic wand in his hand and walked towards the direction of the sound. Alice hesitated for a moment and followed.

The two of them followed the broken path, which became more and more eerie as they went deeper. The surrounding trees made low chirping sounds in the breeze, as if they were sending them some kind of warning. Gradually, several blurry figures appeared in the shadows. Gerling tried hard to identify those people, and his heart tightened. They were their classmates - Noah, Lucy and Dirk!

"Noah, Lucy, Dirk!" Gerling shouted. Several people turned around, their expressions mixed with surprise and fear, especially Noah, whose face was clearly visible with scars.

“Gerlin, Alice, you’re finally back!” Noah gasped, approaching them, “We thought you were trapped in the academy!”

"We're just away for a while," Alice said alertly, looking around closely. "The situation here is too bad. The wizards are looking for people alive."

Dirk clenched his fists. "We can't let them succeed! For the sake of the academy, we must stand together!"

"But what should we do?" Lucy asked worriedly, "The magic of those wizards is too terrible, and we only have these broken magic weapons now. There is no way to fight against them."

Gerlin hesitated for a moment, "No, we must find a way to find the books in the classroom. Those ancient scrolls and spells may be able to help us!"

"Are you referring to the Forbidden Library?" Noah's eyes lit up. "That is the most dangerous place in the academy. It contains powerful magic, but it is also full of unknown risks."

Alice shuddered, "But if we don't go, the wizards will not stop their hunt. We must buy time to find other survivors and fight them!"

"Okay," Gellin made up his mind, "let's hurry up. Be careful of the shadows of the trees and don't be misled by the phantoms. Let's go together and never separate!"

The five of them walked closely together towards the classroom. There seemed to be an uneasy atmosphere in the air, and the shadows around them were sometimes blown by the wind, and sometimes seemed to be approaching them. With every step they took, the fear in their hearts increased.

"Woo--" Suddenly, a scream like the howling of ghosts and wolves echoed in the forest, suppressed and harsh, like the desperate cry of a soul. Gerlin's heart trembled, "Hurry, run!"

They ran in the dense darkness, the rustling of leaves and the sound of their own heartbeats mixing in their ears. Finally, they stopped in an empty space, panting.

"Have we...have we found the way?" Lucy felt dizzy and almost fell.

"We should be there soon!" Gerling raised his head and looked around. He suddenly found an old wooden door in front of him that was half-open and had a faint light coming through. He thought, "That's the entrance to the classroom. Let's go!"

He pushed open the door, and a dazzling light suddenly burst out, illuminating the entire space. Books were neatly arranged on the tall bookshelf, but a low chanting sound seemed to come from somewhere, which was creepy.

"This is the Forbidden Library..." Noah swallowed and almost didn't dare to get closer.

"We need to find a useful scroll as soon as possible," Gellin said without hesitation, and walked towards the bookshelf. As he walked between the bookshelves, he felt the heavy sense of responsibility. Every book seemed to carry countless secrets and taboos.

"Here are some spell scrolls!" Lucy's voice suddenly came, breaking the tense silence.

"Hurry, give it to me!" Gerling turned around and saw Lucy flipping through a roll of yellowed paper with excitement in her eyes.

"This... 'Light Drives Away Shadows' spell should help us dispel the phantoms!" she said in a sonorous voice.

“And this, the ‘Ancient Protection Technique’!” Noah held up a scroll excitedly, “It can be used to protect us!”

"Great, we can definitely fight against those wizards!" Gerling was ecstatic. At this moment, a strong wind blew at the door, the air was filled with strange whispers, and several dark shadows slowly approached.

"It's them!" Dirk cried in horror, "Let's cast the spell quickly!"

Gerling and his classmates quickly worked together and began to chant the incantation. In the flickering light, the temperature in the area dropped sharply, and the surroundings were shrouded in a soft light, as if fighting against the dark forces.

The shadows gradually took shape, and their blurry faces were distorted and crazy. The energy of fear rushed towards them, and Gerlin's heart tightened. "Focus, don't let me see their true faces!"

"Fight for the academy!" Noah roared, raised his staff, and drew a ray of light. Beside him, others followed closely, and spells echoed in their mouths. At this critical moment, everyone turned the fear in their hearts into courage and hope.

As the spell was completed, the light around them became stronger, and the shadows let out a piercing roar, becoming distorted and unbearable under the direct gaze of the light. The low whispers gradually disappeared, and only the heartbeats and spells of the students remained in the air.
