When Cedric came out of the greenhouse, he heard something on his way to the auditorium: two Slytherin students stood in the rain of bubble pod flowers in the courtyard next to the library and swore to love each other for the rest of their lives. People present cheered and applauded for them regardless of their college, and both of them were very good-looking, so everyone thought they looked a perfect match standing together.

But when Cedric heard that the girl was a beautiful girl with black hair, his face suddenly became gloomy. What kind of match and what kind of oath? Black hair, bubble pod, Slytherin, is she really Mavis?

Cedric's friends mistakenly thought that someone had stolen the bubble pods, which made him so angry. Although they thought it was unlikely that he would be angry over such a small matter, they could not find any other reason for the moment, so they could only comfort him by saying, "Professor Sprout will definitely not blame you..."

Only Cedric knew the real reason, so no matter what his friends said, he was in a bad mood.

It was not until he walked into the hall that he heard a Hufflepuff student say that the boy was Puse from Slytherin. Although he didn't know the girl's name, he was sure that it was Puse's girlfriend from last semester.

Hearing this, Cedric suddenly felt a sense of relief. It turned out that Pusey had deliberately deceived him! Mavis was just helping him get the flowers, not to confess to anyone. This feeling of sudden enlightenment gradually calmed the waves in his heart.

However, just when he had regained his composure, a familiar figure appeared in his sight—Mavis came to the door of the auditorium.

But she still held tightly to Malfoy, the boy who was by her side every day.

Malfoy walked towards Slytherin unhappily, but Mavis pulled him back with a smile and conjured up a bouquet of flowers for him under his puzzled gaze.

It was the bubble pod she had come to him for, and she gave it to Malfoy.

His mood, which had just calmed down, suddenly became unhappy again; the people sitting at the long table did not dare to speak easily when they saw his face suddenly turned gloomy.

After all, it was rare to see Cedric angry, and everyone had long been accustomed to his always smiling face. No one dared to ask him the reason for such a strange phenomenon today, and even the movements of eating became cautious, for fear of making him even more unhappy.

After returning to the lounge, Cedric walked straight into his dormitory without saying a word.

Lester and the others wisely stayed in the lounge to do their homework and did not dare to go to the dormitory to disturb him; you know, this was the second time he had a dark face for unknown reason since he came back from the greenhouse today.

Cedric sat down on the edge of the bed, feeling extremely irritated. He closed his eyes tightly and tried to calm himself down.

This afternoon when he saw Mavis appear in front of him, he was in a very happy mood. Even though he knew she was coming for the Bubble Pod when she spoke, he still felt sincerely happy.

However, when he saw Mavis running towards the guy named Pusey, he realized that all this was carefully planned by Pusey.

It turns out that the bubble pod was not the real reason that attracted Mavis to come, but Pusey knew that he would help Mavis, so he set up this trap.

What made him even more angry was that when Pusey pulled Mavis away, she even raised her eyebrows at him. That provocative look was simply intolerable! You know, he had been doing his best to help Angus get close to Mavis.

Several times when he was about to meet Mavis, he would deliberately send her away or block her sight in order to create opportunities for Angus.

There was Angus and Malfoy, and even the Potters and Weasleys from Gryffindor liked to be with her. How could he attract her attention among them?

Cedric sat alone on the bed, staring at the huge and soft stuffed badger on the bed with a confused look. The doll was a gift from the girl last Christmas and was delivered on Christmas Eve.

He understood that this gift was a response from her because he had given her a gift first, but this did not affect his inner joy. He even brought the doll to school and kept it with him, just because it was given to him by her.

He gently stroked the doll's fur, recalling every moment he spent with the girl. He had known her before she entered Hogwarts, but it took a long time for her to get to know him.

Sometimes he felt that Hogwarts was very small, so small that everyone in the school knew about her as soon as she arrived. Sometimes he felt that Hogwarts was very big, so big that he couldn't meet her even after going to the Slytherin common room several times.

Obviously, the Hufflepuff common room is right above the Slytherin common room, and even the Gryffindors can stay with her, so why did he deliberately take a detour and still couldn't meet her even though she could walk?

Mavis once said that she loved all beautiful things, whether it was gorgeous flowers, sparkling lakes, exquisite and delicious pastries, or even cute pets or beautiful people, she would prefer the better-looking ones.

Angus, Malfoy, Potter, they are all good-looking, so she likes them? What about me? Am I not good-looking? But thinking of Malfoy beside her, he sighed again.

He should have understood long ago that she didn't like it just because it looked good, otherwise, the bubble pod flowers were so pretty, but she didn't seem to like them that much. He was pretty too, but she still preferred Malfoy.

The light in Cedric's eyes dimmed like a falling star. Perhaps he should have been brave enough to get to know her earlier.
