Chapter 78 I've Known You For A Long Time

In the spring of 1990, Cedric, a third-grader, went home for Easter. He liked the lake not far from his home very much. It was quiet and beautiful there.

He came here on his broom after breakfast today, and sat on the grass under the shade of the tree as he did before, enjoying the breeze and looking at the calm lake under the sun. The lake reflected the blue sky and white clouds as if it were a piece of sky on the earth. The scenery here often made him feel happy.

There was a pavilion near the shore that was difficult even for wizards to approach. Cedric thought it was beautiful the first time he saw it. After looking it up in a book, he realized that the style was Chinese.

Not only is its design elegant and exquisite, but the sight of the green gauze curtains fluttering in the wind makes him feel that the pavilion has a sense of isolation from the world.

Suddenly, the water surface next to the pavilion moved, and a young girl appeared. She looked to be in her teens, wearing a green gauze dress, with snow-white skin and a beautiful face.

Cedric had seen clothes like that before. In the book introducing Huaguo Pavilion, there was an illustration in which the person was wearing clothes like that.

He stood up in surprise. Where did she come from?! In the water? How could someone live underwater?? And what kind of magic was that?? Why could she stand on the water?

Cedric watched in amazement as the girl walked lightly on the lake as if she were walking on flat ground, and his eyes followed her figure closely.

After walking for a while, she raised her hand and seemed to make a few mysterious and elegant gestures. Then, snowflakes suddenly began to float on the lake, like silver-white butterflies dancing.

The girl was wearing a long green dress, and snowflakes were falling one after another, gently landing on her head, clothes and shadow.

Her beauty and holiness complement each other, and her reflection in the water and her real figure intertwine, like a dreamlike painting.

She walked forward step by step, gradually speeding up her pace, then she tiptoed slightly and leaned forward. Flying?!

Cedric looked at the broom next to him and then at her figure in surprise. What kind of spell was this? And where was her wand? Why could she fly without a broom? ? !

She used the treetops around her as support points, and her toes gently touched the branches and leaves, using them to keep flying. Her movements were skillful and natural, as if all of this was an everyday behavior she had long been accustomed to.

Then she gradually disappeared, and that direction... seemed to be the direction of Weasley's house. Did she know Weasley? How come he had never seen her before? Did she live in the lake all the time?

All kinds of strange questions made him gradually confused. After riding back home quickly, he ran into the study and looked for all the books about China. It was amazing, even more magical than magic!

Unfortunately, there were very few records about Eastern magic, and there were basically none at home, so he decided to go to the library to check after returning to school.

The experience at noon was so magical that he was wondering what was going on while eating dinner.

Mrs. Diggory noticed something was wrong with her son immediately and quickly gave her husband a look. Amos also noticed something was wrong with his son after receiving her look.

So he asked, "Sadie, what's going on at school lately?"

Cedric looked up at his father and smiled, "It's fine, Dad. Nothing special."

Amos nodded and said, "Is there anything unhappy recently? You can tell mom and dad, dear Sadie."

Cedric was stunned for a moment, then realized that he was too absorbed in thinking about what happened at noon, which made them think too much.

"Dad, do you remember the lake near my home?"

Amos nodded: "Yeah, I know"

"I've always found it strange. Why is there a Chinese pavilion that is so difficult to approach?"

"Oh, Sadie, that's Mr. Chris's house. The entrance to their house is that pavilion. It's enchanted, so it's hard for others to get close to it, and even if they get close, they can't get in."

Cedric said in surprise, "So that's how it is. There are people really living there? Are they in the lake?"

Amos shook his head. "No, Mr. Chris said that this is a magic trick. They don't live in the lake. I don't know the details. After all, he just moved here from China this year."

Cedric nodded and said, "He and his wife and daughter?"

"No, no, no, he's not married yet. Mr. Chris is only 19 years old, but he has a good business mind and has business dealings with many people, including the Ministry of Magic, so I have met him several times in the Ministry of Magic."

"But I saw a girl suddenly appear from the lake near the pavilion at noon today. She looked like a Chinese."

"Oh! Then you must have seen his sister. He said he has the cutest sister in the world, named Mavis. He speaks very highly of his sister. Almost everyone who knows him knows that he loves his sister very much."

"So that's how it is. I heard that Eastern magic families are very mysterious. Why did they suddenly come to England?"

"According to Mr. Chris, this is because of the development of the family industry, and her sister happens to be coming to Hogwarts as an exchange student next school year."

Cedric suddenly became happy when he heard this: "This is amazing. I hope the next semester will start soon. Their magic in the East is really amazing. I saw her fly without even using a wand or a broom!"

Amos was also surprised: "Really?! She can do wandless magic at such a young age?! What an excellent child!!" He then looked at Cedric with satisfaction and added: "Of course Sadie is also very good!"

Cedric also laughed: "Thanks, Dad."

His heart was now filled with the magical power of that girl, and he decided to get to know the girl the next time they met.
