On the weekend, Professor Luca and his wife brought Tang Wenwan to "Grandma's House", a well-known Chinese restaurant in Florence.

As she walked into the store, the warm greetings were like a warm breeze from her hometown accent, making Tang Wenwan feel as if she were in a dream.

"welcome!"

Behind the iron-red wooden door frame, a kind-looking middle-aged woman greeted us politely. From the inaudible kitchen, the sound of boiling hot oil and the aroma of spices could be heard.

They were taken to a spacious and elegant private room, with a red cloth covering the table, and elegant porcelain and beautiful floral arrangements on it. Tang Wenwan felt a sense of familiarity, as if she was back at the dining table at her grandmother's house when she was a child.

Professor Luca opened the menu and introduced it to Tang Wenwan:

"It is said that this restaurant features traditional Chinese home-cooked dishes, with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. Try their cooking to see if it tastes like what you imagined."

On the menu, there were mapo tofu, hot and sour soup, sweet and sour pork... which instantly reminded Tang Wenwan of Nancheng.

"It's true. We can try these."

She excitedly ordered a few special dishes, feeling her taste buds were piqued and filled with anticipation.

Professor Luca and his wife looked at each other with satisfaction, and couldn't help but think of their little daughter who was far away from home. They wondered if there was anyone who could take the little girl, who was also alone in a foreign country, to taste the taste of homesickness.

After a while, the waiter brought up the sweet and sour pork tenderloin with a caramel aroma.

Selena took a breath, quickly adjusted her mood and said to Tang Wenwan with a smile:

"Wendy, I hope this dish doesn't disappoint you."

As the dishes were served, Tang Wenwan's eyes lit up and she picked up her chopsticks, eager to try.

"Hmm~"

But who would have thought that before the piece of meat entered his mouth, his stomach suddenly started to churn.

"Sorry, I'm going to the bathroom. You guys eat first. This dish tastes pretty good."

Tang Wenwan stood up from her seat with a whoosh, covered her mouth, said a few words to Professor Luca and his wife, and rushed to the toilet at the back.

"Bang~"

As soon as I opened the toilet door, someone hit me hard.

"Wow~"

Without even having time to react, Tang Wenwan started vomiting into the toilet.

"What's wrong with you?"

A voice with a hint of confusion diluted in its provocation came from behind.

Tang Wenwan now felt her stomach twitching. Without even raising her head, she waved her hands behind her and continued to dry heave into the toilet.

"Did they poison you?"

The voice began to sound a little worried, and asked in disbelief from behind.

Tang Wenwan found the question a bit ridiculous and vomited twice before turning around.

"Sophia! Aren't you in America? When did you come back?"

When Tang Wenwan saw who was coming, she screamed.

She looked at the girl in front of her who was about her own age. She had beautiful long curly hair dyed pink and her light brown eyes had a rebellious brightness.

"You recognized me right away."

Sophia lazily tucked a strand of long hair behind her ear and nodded slightly. She looked at Tang Wenwan disdainfully and spoke with interest.

"Your house is full of photos of you. I've seen them every day since I was a kid. It's hard for me not to recognize you."

Tang Wenwan stood up, stroking her stomach weakly and smiled at her in a friendly manner.

"You live in my house now?"

Sophia frowned slightly, and the corners of her mouth slightly curled up, revealing her unhappiness about her territory being occupied.

"You are finally back. The professors should be happy now."

Tang Wenwan didn't know how to explain, so she changed the subject and carefully observed her expression.

"I don't want to go back. They don't want to see me either."

At the mention of going home, Sophia became angry like an angry bird, took a step back and glared at Tang Wenwan.

"It looks like I am the same."

Tang Wenwan raised her eyebrows and looked at her, muttering something, as if she was confessing to Sophia, or as if she was talking to herself.

"You~"

"Wendy, are you okay? Can I come in and check on you?"

Before Sophia could say the next word, Selena's voice came from outside the bathroom door.

Tang Wenwan and Sophia looked at each other nervously at the same time. Just as Sophia shook her head desperately, Tang Wenwan nodded in understanding.

"Selena, I'm fine. I'll be right out. Go back to your seat and wait for me. I'll pack and come right over."

She cleared her throat and replied to the door.

"Is the child really okay?"

Only when the footsteps outside the door faded away did Tang Wenwan look at Sophia meaningfully again.

"I think we should have a good chat, but not today."

She saw all kinds of emotions rolling in Sophia's eyes. She suppressed the discomfort in her stomach and tried to force a smile at the corners of her mouth as she suggested.

"I also have a story to exchange with you. Give me a chance."

Seeing Sophia's hesitant look, she held her hand and begged.

Sophia felt like she was possessed by a ghost today. She was furious when she saw her parents happily taking a strange girl out to dinner, but she didn't expect that when she stood in front of this girl, all her anger turned into curiosity.

"Then I'll wait for you at the coffee shop on the corner of our street at three o'clock the day after tomorrow."

Sophia bit her lip and said with determination.

Tang Wenwan finally felt relieved. She stretched out her hand, gave her an OK gesture, pointed outside, and walked out first.

"Wendy, what's wrong with you? Is there something wrong with the food here?"

As soon as I sat back at the dining table, I received the worried attention of Professor Luca and his wife.

"The restaurant owner came just now. He confirmed that there is nothing wrong with the ingredients, and said that if you still feel uncomfortable, he can accompany us to the hospital."

Selena's concern was even anxious, and it was obvious that they had already discussed the matter with the restaurant owner.

Tang Wenwan picked up the teacup beside her and took a sip. She saw the restaurant owner walking towards them from the corner of her eye, and quickly waved her hand to explain:

"No, no, no, it's not the food's problem, it's my own stomach problem."

She herself felt strange, why did she suddenly feel like vomiting? She picked up her chopsticks and picked up another piece of light green vegetable and put it in her mouth and said:

"Maybe I haven't eaten Chinese food for a long time, so I'm a little uncomfortable with oily dishes."

She looked awkwardly at the restaurant owner who was already standing beside their table and explained very sheepishly.

"You still need to check your stomach. The stomachs of us Chinese are indeed quite delicate. If this is really our problem, you can always come to me."

The restaurant owner was a middle-aged man. He spoke with trepidation, but his attitude was quite sincere.

"I also think it's my own stomach problem. I'll go check it out later. Your dishes are all very authentic, but I don't seem to be able to eat well today."

Glancing at the pink figure passing by from the side, Tang Wenwan's lips curled up into a smile, and the boss and the professor couple finally relaxed.
