HP: Hogwarts, but pro-generation

Chapter 178 Purple Wool Socks

Xia gave the wool socks to Dumbledore before leaving school for Christmas. Before leaving, she thought she was ready to confess everything.

Dumbledore prepared afternoon tea as usual, just as he had done for more than a month. He did not urge Xia to speak, as if whether she spoke or not was within his expectations. He fully respected any choice made by the little witch, which meant that he believed everything was under his control.

Xia finished a cup of black tea and felt it would be impolite not to speak.

"Uh, Professor." Her voice was a little dry. Damn, didn't she drink a whole cup of black tea? Xia regarded this as a bad start. "Do you believe in time travel?"

In the past, when Xia revealed everything to Professor Dumbledore, she would usually continue talking smoothly after opening her mouth, but this time she stopped talking after she finished the beginning. But she believed that Dumbledore would make his own supplements, and the time and space magic alone was enough for him to think of a lot.

Dumbledore tapped his fingers on the table twice, and he lowered his head to think. The two of them fell into a strange silence again. Xia felt very uneasy. She didn't know what Dumbledore's silence meant. Did he want her to continue talking or did he want him to think? Merlin, she thought the worst thing that could happen today was to make the decision to confess.

Before Xia finished her second cup of tea, Dumbledore finally spoke, "Time and space magic is extremely profound and mysterious. No one can explain the secrets behind it, but -"

He paused for a moment, and two pairs of eyes, the same blue but very different, stared at each other through the air. Xia's breathing became rapid.

"However, there must be a reason behind being able to trigger space-time magic. I have no intention of exploring the secrets behind this, but at the same time, I guess, Xia, you don't know what's behind this either."

Dumbledore's words lingered in Xia's mind. What was the secret behind this? What was the secret behind her coming here? Xia felt her blood freeze. She slumped against the back of her chair as if she was frozen. What secret could there be? When Xia thought of the thought that had been tormenting her every night during this period of time - "You don't belong here. You stole everything.", she felt extremely heartbroken.

Her biggest secret is the "time and space magic" in her body, but now she is told that this secret is just the precursor of a bigger secret. Ha, Xia suddenly felt a little tired. She rubbed her swollen head and chose to change the subject. She forgot to say last time: "Professor, did you destroy the crown?"

"No, I think you have your own ideas." Dumbledore replied, his eyes fell on the rows of bookshelves. After he learned about the Horcruxes, he read a lot of information.

Xia exhaled, her tone was much more relaxed: "Great! Oh, no, that's not what I mean, I mean can we destroy the Horcrux without destroying the crown itself? You know, after all, this is the last relic of Law-Ravenclaw."

Dumbledore smiled gently, "Just as I expected."

"What—" Xia looked at her principal in confusion, then realized: "You mean you guessed it a long time ago? This, this, how did you guess it?"

Dumbledore looked at Xia lovingly, shook his head and answered the question directly: "I think you have the final say on the disposal of the tiara - it was you who found it and provided such a valuable clue."

Xia smiled. She couldn't remember a lot of things, and she couldn't contribute much. "There is a Horcrux in the old Gaunt house - Great Hangleton, four or five kilometers away from Little Hangleton - that is the home of Voldemort's grandfather."

Then she looked at Dumbledore seriously, with a slight warning in her voice: "But, Professor, I don't recommend you go there alone. You know, Horcruxes have their own consciousness. They will burst out with a desire to survive before they realize that they are being destroyed. The object that made the Horcrux itself has an irresistible attraction to you."

Dumbledore was slightly surprised, but he accepted Xia's reminder: "I will pay attention."

"Do you swear?" Xia said to Dumbledore as if she was looking at a troublesome elder in the family.

"Yes, I swear." Dumbledore gave Thea a reassuring smile, "I will ask Minerva to join me."

Professor McGonagall knew some of Dumbledore's early events, and Xia felt relieved. But just to be on the safe side, she said again, "It's a ring, and the Deathly Hallows."

Dumbledore's pupils shrank slightly. If he had just said those words to appease the younger generation, then he was really considering it seriously now.

"Well, when you find the ring, could you write me a letter? I'm sure you'll be there at Christmas."

Xia guessed correctly, the Horcrux was of great importance, and Dumbledore did not intend to delay for too long. His original idea was to go there immediately - well, he planned to deceive the little girl in front of him - but now he changed his mind, it seemed that Minerva had to sacrifice her vacation.

"There are still three Horcruxes. I'm not sure where they are. Voldemort may not have handed them over to his men yet." Xia twisted her body uneasily in her chair. "I'm not sure if time and space magic will bring about any changes. As far as I know, the last golden cup was in Lestrange's vault, the diary was in Malfoy Manor, and the locket..."

When Xia said this, she felt her heart tighten and her stomach sank as if it was filled with stones. She didn't want to recall Regulus's original ending - after she got to know Regulus better and better, and after she and Regulus became more and more familiar with each other - but she still struggled to speak: "The locket is in a cave. It was found in the cave when Voldemort was still in the orphanage and terrorized those children."

Dumbledore looked at Xia calmly. He had not expected that the little witch knew so much. Space-time magic? Could it really change everything? Many figures appeared in his eyes.

The cry of the phoenix interrupted Dumbledore's thoughts, which were getting farther and farther away. He felt bitter in his heart. He shouldn't think like this. When you get older, you always seem to reminisce about the past. He has been entangled in pain and self-blame for too long. He wants to atone for his sins and make amends, but he can't ask others for anything. After all, time and space magic is full of dangers.

"I understand, Xia." Dumbledore said slowly after adjusting his mood, "I will pay more attention."

Xia nodded, and finally she gave her purple wool socks to Dumbledore. The haze in Dumbledore's heart just now disappeared at this time, and the wise elder was able to control these emotions very well. But when he saw the pair of purple wool socks, he still stood up and said happily: "I like it very much, it matches my robe very well.
