HP: Hogwarts, but pro-generation

Chapter 61 Wizards and Muggles

Let’s not talk about whether Lily agreed with James calling her that or not.

James, who had never seen Muggle items before, had already started studying them by leaning on the TV, knocking on the TV cover, poking the little people on the screen, and pressing strange buttons.

"!" James took two steps back uncontrollably, "What's going on? It spoke!"

"How did they do that? Why did the box talk and the person inside move? Is it a portrait? It doesn't look like one."

James chattered around the Evans sisters, his head constantly appearing next to them, until Lily couldn't stand it anymore and restrained him, "Potter, be quiet."

"It's James." The black-haired boy with his head pinned down twisted restlessly in Lily's elbow, while weakly raising his hand to remind the fiery red-haired little witch to pay attention to his address.

Lily covered her eyes with her free hand and said in a merciless and helpless tone, "Okay, James."

James gladly accepted the new name. He nodded in satisfaction. "That's it. Okay, can you let me go? I still want to study the talking box."

"That's TV, idiot." Petunia looked at James arrogantly. This seemingly arrogant fool didn't even know what TV was. "Ha, that's funny. Don't you even know that?"

James didn't sense Petunia's disdain. He stood up and fixed his hair, looking like a curious baby. "TV? Nice name. We really don't know this. There are almost no Muggle items in wizard families. How is it used?"

Penny's eyes widened slightly after hearing one of the sentences, which contained shock, sympathy and pity. She choked out, "So, Xia hasn't watched TV in all these years?"

Lily seemed to see Penny taking out a handkerchief to wipe her non-existent tears. She tentatively said, "That's a bit exaggerated, Penny."

Penny fell onto the sofa as if betrayed. The two wizards showed the same puzzled expression. They tilted their heads, somewhat confused about the current situation.

"Poor wizard, he's never watched TV, and even his clothes are so weird."

James knew that Petunia was talking to him, so he answered truthfully, "Are the clothes weird? I think they're fine, but what are you wearing?"

Penny didn't answer James's words. She asked another question: "So what do you usually do, if you don't watch TV?"

"Um...playing Quidditch, wizard chess, and doing pranks?"

Penny offered her own opinion: "It just sounds so monotonous."

After saying that, she sat on the sofa, lost in thought and lost herself in her own world. No matter how James and Lily called her, she didn't respond.

James: What happened to your sister?

Lily: Um...

As the two continued to make eye contact, Penny seemed to have figured something out. She stood up and walked to Lily, holding her shoulders with both hands. "Promise me that you won't fall too far behind, okay?"

"Varied--"

"Xia only told me that she had never eaten hamburgers and Coke. I didn't expect... I won't say it anymore. I understand." Penny patted Lily heavily, "I'm going back to my room first and write a letter to Xia."

Lily looked at her sister's back, and from time to time she could faintly hear Penny's sigh in the air.

"What's going on now--" James stood there in despair, raising his arms high in the hope that the Evans sisters would pay attention to him. He had no idea what was going on! Could it be that Muggles could have telepathy? Why couldn't he understand the current situation at all! ?

As someone who grew up in the Muggle world and has lived in the wizarding world for nearly a year, Lily has now adapted to both lives. She has experienced both the Muggle life with TV and the somewhat monotonous life of wizards, and she has both Muggle clothes and wizard costumes.

The usually clever little witch now didn't know how to react. She opened her mouth several times to explain something to her wizard friend but didn't know where to start.

"Forget it, let's watch TV." Lily changed the TV program from boring commercials to everyone's favorite cartoon now, "I bet you haven't seen this, wait until you are fascinated by it."

James snorted, "Really? Then I'll have to take a closer look."

The thing young boys can't stand the most is stimulation. He himself is very friendly and interested in this talking box called TV, but after Lily said that, he has to take a closer look to see if it is worth his curiosity.

"Wow~ This is so cool!" The stubborn and curious baby was completely attracted by the TV. He agreed with Lily's point of view. This was really interesting.

What kids hate most is commercials while watching TV. This is the third time he can't help but complain, "What a bummer! What is this?"

"Commercials." Lily also didn't like being interrupted at the climax of the story. She said gloomily, "It's always interrupted in the middle of the animation. We all hate it."

James sighed, but he was also very interested in advertisements, just not as much as animations.

He pointed at the man in the white coat and asked, "What is he wearing? Why is he wearing it like that?"

"White coats. That's what all doctors wear." Lily was lying on the carpet in boredom, her hands constantly pulling at the poor carpet. To prevent James from asking more questions, she kindly said, "Doctors are similar to the healers at St. Mungo's. They cure illnesses and save lives."

"Cool~" James whistled, "So what is he talking about? What is gene, what is heredity, and what is inbreeding?"

"Everyone's appearance, behavior and personality are inseparable from genes, and these are all given to us by our parents. Inbreeding means being together with people who are blood relatives, which will increase the probability of offspring getting sick."

Penny came to the living room at some point and answered James' questions. The more she interacted with wizards, the more she felt that they were too backward and didn't know many things.

I really don’t know whether it is a good thing or a bad thing to let Lily go to the wizarding world.
