Marvel crosses Star Wars, and everyone attacks the galaxy
Chapter 155: Nine-Headed Snake Agent Crossbones Brock Rumlow
The group soon arrived at the planet Theis, and with Quinlan Voss's powerful tracking ability, they quickly found Ziro's trail.
When they arrived at their destination, they saw two bodies, one of whom had apparently been dead for some time, and the other was Ziro.
“Who can do this?”
"Your guess is as good as mine, Kenobi."
A familiar sound of thrusters rang out in the air, causing the four to quickly become alert.
"Here they come~" Falcon exclaimed, aiming his blaster at the bounty hunter droid they were facing off against on Nal Hutta.
The Jedi ignited their lightsabers and began to reflect back as many enemy blasters were directed at them. Falcon activated his wings and soared into the air. He fired at the droids while waiting for his chance to eliminate the enemies.
Falcon called out to the nearby clones, "Guys, come help."
It didn't take long for Seph to respond, "What's the problem, Falcon?"
"Yeah. Those robots we fought before are back again."
"We'll be there soon."
As the call ended, Falcon suddenly stopped and let the robots fly ahead. He used this opportunity to reactivate his flying ability and then fired at the robots in front. They were quickly severely damaged and lost their combat effectiveness.
Captain America punched a robot that was flying straight at him, and suddenly, he was hit hard on the back and was knocked uncontrollably into the air. Finally, he hit the nearby stone wall hard, groaning in pain.
"You're here too, you bitch!"
Cap heard the curses. But he could barely stand up when he felt a metallic stab in the abdomen and someone grabbed him by the neck and slammed him into the stone wall.
With a groan, Captain America opened his eyes sharply and took a sharp breath.
Those glowering eyes beneath a black helmet, a face painted in bone-white camouflage, were a face Cap had seen many times before. Once upon a time, the owner of those eyes was a man he had considered an ally.
Now, those eyes were filled with pure hatred.
"Crossbones," Captain America whispered.
"Rogers," Brock Rumlow hissed through his helmet, "I was wondering where you were. I didn't expect you to be here. A deal went wrong and I ended up in fucking outer space."
"Deal?" Captain America muttered, then he reacted and pushed Rumlow back.
Hydra agent Brock Rumlow ran forward, shouting, "I've been waiting for this day for a long time!"
Cap had to quickly dodge the incoming attack, as Rumlow's power-enhancing glove had just dealt him some serious damage.
"Come on, Captain," Rumlow taunted, "I know you can do better."
Cap gritted his teeth and raised his shield just in time to block the blow, but Rumlow's power-enhancing gauntlet still sent him stumbling backwards. If not for his quick reflexes, Cap would undoubtedly have felt the full force of Rumlow's amplified fist.
Cap reacted in time and deflected another punch with his shield, but Cap was hit hard on the head by Rumlow and was a little dazed.
Rumlow then began to pin Captain America down, and the dazed super soldier tried to regain his sanity.
A blade popped out of one of Rumlow's gloves.
"This is for smashing the damn helicarrier into my face!"
Cap ducked his head away from the blade. It pierced the wall behind him, and more spiderweb cracks appeared in the wall after the blow.
Captain America took advantage of this gap to elbow Rumlow's armored head. Rumlow stumbled back and was then kicked away by Captain America's spinning kick.
Crossbones stumbled across the rocky ground and used his recovery roller to get back on his feet. When he came to, he saw the Aerial Avenger swooping down on him.
"Ah~ hello, Wilson." Rumlow greeted, adjusted his gloves, and the blaster barrel popped out quickly. He grinned and said, "Long time no see."
"Not too long." Falcon said, "Why are you here?"
"He mentioned the arms deal." Captain America snorted slightly and rubbed his abdomen. "Spider-Man said that this was his last memory with Daredevil and Black Panther before he came here."
"Oh, and you know those bastards?" Crossbones Rumlow growled. "It's because of them that I and a few others are stuck in this galactic shithole."
"Wait, others?"
"We'll get rid of that damned spider and blind man sooner or later," said Rumlow.
Raising his arms, Rumlow's gauntlets roared to life, unleashing a barrage of blaster rounds at them.
"Oh my god." Falcon activated his thrusters to dodge, while Captain America crouched down to block the blaster fire.
In the air, Falcon's head shot up, hearing the sounds of other thrusters in the air, and looked up in time to avoid a passing robot that fired at him.
"I really don't have time for you." The Avenger in the air roared.
Things are not going so well for the Jedi and Clone Troopers. This time, they barely hold their ground. They are without the help of Cap and Falcon, so they have lost some of their advantage. The droids are changing their tactics, which is discouraging the Republic troops.
The bounty hunter droid stopped firing its blaster and began attacking them using other means.
"Oh, come on! That's not fair!"
A concentrated blast came from the robot's palm, surprising them all.
"What the hell is that?" Scorch yelled, barely dodging several beams of light that were shot at him.
One of them struck the repairman in the back, sending him crashing into a nearby rock wall.
"Repairman!" Voss yelled.
"It's okay, he's just unconscious." The boss quickly ran to the repairman and checked him and said.
"Damn bastard!"
Scorch ran forward, ignoring the calls of his brothers and the Jedi Knights, while firing a barrage of blaster rounds at the droids in front of him.
There were several explosions in front of him, destroying some robots, and burning right through the smoke and knocking out one. He stood up suddenly, firing at every robot he could see, and when he had to dodge several of the incoming beams again, several beams were fired at him at the same time, one of which hit him in the shoulder.
Scorch was knocked flying, landing heavily on the ground, and although he remained conscious, he suddenly felt some invisible force pulling him away from more fire.
"Try not to do too many crazy things like that, cautery," Voss said with a wry smile.
Burns just smiled weakly.
"Are you two okay?" the boss yelled, firing at multiple robots.
Obi-Wan used the Force to pull one droid closer and sliced it with his lightsaber, and the next second he had to lean back to avoid another beam fired at him.
Vos and Obi-Wan stood side by side, with Boss and Sear nearby, all fighting back against the droids in a united front.
"Where the hell are Rogers and Wilson?" Voss said, flicking a blaster round back into its launcher, killing one of the robots.
"They are over there." The boss pointed.
Obi-Wan glanced to where his boss was pointing and squinted his eyes to see that Cap was fighting a well-equipped and skilled enemy.
"Who is that?"
"Once we have dealt with these robots, we can ask him—"
"careful!"
Vos pushed Obi-Wan back as several droids fired a barrage of beams and blaster rounds in their direction. The blast sent the two Jedi flying and landing on the edge of the cliff.
Delta Squad, now united, faced the remaining swarm of robots, firing their weapons at the metal bastards. Despite being outnumbered, none of them flinched.
However, to their surprise, the robot suddenly stopped attacking and flew off to parts unknown.
"Where on earth are they going?"
“It probably goes back to the people who made or employed them.”
"Never mind that. I'm more worried about the generals."
"Oh, I almost forgot about them."
Obi-Wan hung on the edge of the cliff, looking at the man beside him.
"I never liked going on missions with you."
All Voss did was give his old friend a wry smile.
Captain America was now tired from constantly fending off Rumlow's attacks. From blaster fire to hand-to-hand combat, it was undoubtedly a challenge for the super soldier.
No matter how many times he hit the damn bastard, Rumlow healed quickly. It was like the man didn't feel any pain at all. What happened to him?
Captain America finally knocks his opponent down with a rebounding shield throw, and he rolls towards the edge of a cliff. Rumlow tries to stand up, but he is knocked down by the Avengers again.
Crossbones simply punched the ground, struggling to his feet again when he saw that Cap was no longer alone. Delta Team, Obi-Wan, Voss, and Falcon circled overhead, all of their weapons trained on him.
"It's over, Rumlow."
Crossbones smiled in response and deftly pressed a button on his glove, "It's never going to be over between us. And it's not going to be over anytime soon."
Soon, the roar of an engine woke up Captain America, and he saw a Hydra agent jumping off the cliff.
Cap runs towards where Rumlow fell, but soon has to back away as the wing of a spaceship nearly hits him as it flies up quickly. Looking back, he sees Crossbones standing on the hull, waving at him, and then jumps through a hole in the roof of the ship, and Rumlow's spaceship rushes into the sky and disappears into the clouds.
The Falcon landed next to him and he frowned as he saw the Hydra agent flee.
"I don't know when we'll see him again."
"Not too soon, hopefully, Sam."
