Marvel crosses Star Wars, and everyone attacks the galaxy
Chapter 327 Finding Captain America
"Let's go over the plan again," Black Widow said, earning an eye roll from Quinlan.
"Again?" Anakin asked angrily.
“I just want to make sure there aren’t any loopholes,” Black Widow said. “This is Steve, we’re here to rescue. So the less crazy the better.”
“I fear this may well be a fleeting wish,” T’Challa said.
Delta Squad let out a collective hum of amusement, and their Jedi brothers joined them.
"Some of us will disguise ourselves as civilians and infiltrate the arena unnoticed. Others will have to take charge of security, as they will no doubt want to thwart our attempts to free Steve.
"Anything else?" Scott asked.
"We use headsets to report other situations that may arise along the way," Anakin said with a shrug.
"This is a perfect plan, Skywalker," Ella couldn't help but say.
"And we can't go anywhere like civilians." The leader of the Delta Squad spoke up. "You forget that basically everyone knows us now."
"We can go faster." Jiaohen said.
"No, first, we need to remove Steve's collar." Quinlan said, pulling out another still image of the battle captain and pointing to his neck. "Karin told me that unless we get the control or the key to remove this thing from Steve's neck, those who have him captive can kill him instantly.
"Great." Falcon said expressionlessly.
The pilot leaned back in his seat and stared out the ship's window. He saw the now familiar vision of endless black and blue that was hyperspace.
When he first arrived in this system, it was a trippy sight to be sure.
But as time went by, he got used to this sight. Sometimes it still felt a little weird.
He took a few seconds to look around his starship, checking out the other passengers.
The chief and Quinlan were in the front row, both in the pilot's seat, and he was behind them both.
T'Challa is talking to Anakin, and the Prince talks about his home world of Wakanda and the obvious technological marvels it possesses compared to the rest of Earth.
Scott seems to get along well with the Fixer and Scorch, and the three seem to be tinkering with a number of items, from infiltration gadgets to high-end explosives.
Natasha was reviewing everything about the arena and planet they were heading to with Delta Squad's sniper, Old Seven, silently disassembling his rifle and putting it back together.
Finally, there was Ayla Secura, sitting in the back, elbows on knees, eyes fixed on a strange object in the boat.
Falcon tilted his head slightly, spotting what caught her attention, and he exhaled, a determined look on his face.
He stared at the shield they had brought with them, any scorch marks or dirty spots on the vibranium disk cleaned away.
"Almost there, Captain," Sam said to himself. "Almost there."
"How long will it take?" the Twi'lek Jedi asked anxiously, interrupting Falcon from his thoughts.
“You asked that ten minutes ago, and you asked that half an hour ago,” Quinlan said teasingly.
"I'm sorry," Ella said softly, her head lowered slightly and her cheeks slightly red.
"Steve is not someone who will die easily, Ella," Black Widow said comfortingly.
"After all, he's been trapped in the ice for nearly seventy years," T'Challa offered.
"What is going on?" Jiao Hen asked in surprise.
“It’s a long story,” Scott said.
The repairman shrugged. "We're almost there—"
"Five minutes." The leader shouted from the front. "So that means you have to make it an abridged version.
“Or save it for the ride home and share it,” Scott suggested.
"Well, okay." Scorch said in a joking tone, "Until we rescue Captain Rogers."
Five minutes later the ship left hyperspace and their transport reached the planet's surface.
After landing the ship in the docking bay, they were met by Quinlan's informant, Karin Heinz, who was waiting for them. She greeted the Kifar Jedi in a more cordial manner than expected. Quinlan also briefly rested his forehead against hers.
Karin then greeted the rest of Delta Team in her own friendly way.
"Aayla," Hentz said kindly, and the Twi'lek nodded to her.
Then she turned to the others.
"Ah, Anakin Skywalker," Hentz said approvingly. "The fearless hero."
"Naturally," Anakin said with a boastful smile.
Karin smiled slightly, then looked at the other four heroes.
"You must be the Avengers."
"Some of them," Scott said with a shrug.
"Then you must be Voss's contact," said Natasha.
"Yes." Hentz nodded. "We'd better get started now. Today's show is about to begin.
The team split in two upon reaching their destination and continued as planned. Each of them was given a brown robe that completely covered themselves, much to the amusement of the others as they watched the commandos gently complain about how their bulky bodies made it difficult for them to move.
All people were divided into three groups in total.
Falcon, Seven, T'Challa and Anakin are in one group, while Hentz, Aayla, Voss and Scorch are in the same group.
The Repairman, Scott, and Natasha go down to the basement of the arena to see if they can find Steve there, but if not, they need to find a way to remove the collar that's still around his neck.
When they arrived at the arena, they saw it was packed with spectators.
"Now, he knows how to draw a crowd," Anakin said.
As soon as the words fell, the arena erupted in deafening cheers, and the two groups of people in the crowd immediately discovered the people they came to rescue.
"Wow, that was easy," Scott said in amazement.
"Natasha, Steve is in the arena." Anakin immediately reported to Black Widow. "He wants to fight."
“Damn it,” Natasha muttered from her end. “Did you see that collar Karin mentioned?”
"Yes," Seven replied, and the clone's trained eyes almost immediately spotted the device around the super soldier's neck.
"What battle is he fighting?" Scott asked.
The answer came in the form of a large creature with a potato-like body, spindly limbs, clawed hands and a flat face with two small eyes and a wide mouth filled with sharp teeth.
"What the hell is that thing?!" Sam asked in shock.
"Rank," Anakin said grimly. "A tough beast."
"Oh shit," Voss muttered, watching as Cap began to fight the beast, which swung its arms at the super soldier.
Steve fell onto his back, barely raising his hands in time to catch the large clawed hands of his now-opponent.
This Rank was the third one he had faced to entertain the audience since he became a "Gladiator".
At this time, his suit had not been cleaned for a long time, so the color was getting darker and darker. The Avengers logo on his right shoulder was torn off, which was damaged when he first fought Rank.
He now had a full beard, and his long hair was combed back because he hated grease and sweat.
