Marvel crosses Star Wars, and everyone attacks the galaxy

Chapter 352 The Winter Soldier and Ghost Rider

"Hi," Celeste greeted calmly, leaving Strange's side and walking over to the strange man who smiled lovingly at her.

"Celeste," he whispered, leaning down to kiss her. "How about teaching today?"

"It's OK," Celeste said. "I wanted you to meet the newest student here. Dr. Stephen Strange.

Stephen stared at the man in front of him with an inquiring look on his face. There was something familiar about him, but he couldn't figure out what it was. He had obviously never seen this man before, but he felt that this man was familiar somehow.

Bucky stepped forward slightly, extending his normal arm for a shake. “Hey, I’m—”

"Wait..." Strange stared at Barnes for a moment. "You... I know you. I've seen your face before..."

Stephen continued to stare at the WWII veteran until something clicked in his mind. "You! Bucky Barnes? James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes of the Thunder Raiders?!

The veteran was visibly upset at the remark, and turned his back to the former surgeon. Celeste frowned and hugged her lover tightly, and he quickly reciprocated.

"I didn't expect you knew me."

"Who wouldn't know them?" Stephen asked in surprise. "You grew up watching everyone, Captain Rogers and the Thunderbolts. Your squad was a big focus in some history classes when they went into WWII. Are you still alive? I thought you died in the Austrian Alps."

“In a sense…” Bucky said absentmindedly.

"Do you have to do this to him?" Celeste asked angrily.

Stephen was a little embarrassed when he realized that Bucky's "death" was a painful topic.

"I'm so sorry, I—"

"You don't watch the news?"

Stephen then turned to the other man who seemed very out of place because of his jeans, leather jacket, and metal chain wrapped around him.

"You are......?"

“Just like Bucky, a guest,” the man said, patting Barnes on the shoulder.

“At least there’s a name,” Stephen said expectantly.

The man rolled his eyes at that. "Robbie Reyes."

"Dr. Stephen Strange."

Bucky tilted his head, "Our names aren't important, right?"

They both looked at the Winter Soldier. "Hmm?"

"Our names," Barnes repeated, but he received only blank looks. "Uh, never mind. Come on, Robbie, London's waiting for us.

"You're leaving again?" Celeste asked, frowning. "But you were already there earlier this week."

"Moore is still with those idiotic fanatics," Robbie said scornfully. "As long as he's out there, those bastards are a threat, and so is his virus."

“He’s right, Celeste,” Bucky said. “We have to find them and bring Moore and his amulet back here.”

"I could go with you, you know," said Morn.

Bucky didn't agree, but placed his hand on her cheek with a loving look.

“You had your responsibilities here,” Bucky said. “You trained yourself and Strange here. Besides, you were the first person we called when we found Moore and Kaecilius.

Celeste poked her lover in the chest angrily. "You better do this, James Buchanan Barnes."

“I will, dear,” Bucky said with a smile.

The two exchanged a quick kiss before he and Robbie left.

"Bucky Barnes is in a place full of wizards and magic." Stephen muttered to himself, watching the two men walk away from them. "For some reason, this is the strangest thing I've seen since I got here."

"Is it really that weird, Strange?"

Soon, a speechless look was sent, earning a small smirk from Celeste, the Jedi shadow.

"Who is this Moore he's talking about?" asked the former surgeon.

A grim expression soon made the Jedi Shadow's features more beautiful.

"An evil person who disturbs the peace."

……

The duo of Bucky Barnes and Robbie Reyes navigate the dark streets of London in relative silence.

They had been here for about an hour, most of it in silence.

until......

"So that fiery skull..."

Robbie hummed from the driver's seat and shook his head at this statement, he already knew where this conversation was going.

"Haven't you noticed?" Robbie asked back. "That mysterious bald lady gave the thing inside me a name."

“Zach, yes, I remember,” Bucky said.

"Zarathos." The young wanderer shook his head in amusement. "I just heard him shout in my mind."

He got a strange look from the soldier. "Can you talk to him?"

"When he wants to," Robbie said mysteriously.

Bucky hummed sarcastically. “Not creepy at all.”

Reyes could only shrug. "That's it."

“So how did you find him?" Bucky asked. "Cursed? Having trouble dealing with the devil?

Robbie was silent at first, with a melancholy look in his eyes. He silently tightened his grip on the steering wheel.

Bucky could easily see the distant, reminiscent look in Robbie's eyes.

He had seen them a hundred times, maybe thousands of times, back during the war. Hell, he saw the same eyes every time he looked in the mirror.

The eyes of a man who is tired and broken. A man who hasn't had peace in a long time.

"To sum up, I looked for a 'roommate' to protect my brother." Robbie deviated from the direction, his face twitching slightly.

Bucky raised an eyebrow. “That’s it? Is that the best answer I can get?”

"Yes," Ghost Rider said defensively.

Barnes glared at him. "You remember who you were talking to, don't you? Didn't you tell me that there was something in you that could detect the evil in every soul?"

Robbie shook his head. "You know that's different."

“Of course not,” Bucky countered. “But the feeling is that painful feeling. Guilt. Close your eyes and remember what you did.

Robbie almost shouted. "Everyone will get what they deserve after their crimes."

Bucky looked at Robbie with a more intense look. "Tell me, did you kill them all?"

Reyes stiffened, a bead of sweat appearing on his forehead.

"You know." He said silently after a few seconds.

“So…” Bucky leaned back in his seat. “How did you do that?”

Robbie remained silent, choosing not to respond.

"I wrecked the car," Robbie said, his voice slightly hoarse. "Because I was a damn idiot and dragged my brother into a stupid race that nearly killed both of us. A bunch of guys... they threw a firebomb at our car, and the next thing I know I'm lying on the ground, feeling like every bone in my body is broken.

Reyes choked up and felt himself shaking as he replayed the painful experience in his mind.

"I remember begging. I pleaded with the universe, with God, with whatever power there was to save my brother.

Bucky gritted his teeth, hesitated for a moment, and asked, "And then?"

They stood at the traffic light, giving Robbie a chance to look Bucky in the eyes.

“We had an accident,” he said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. “And then I died.”

The light turned green and they continued driving.

“My brother was paralyzed from a car accident, and he was going to die from it. Robbie says now with intense anger. “He was dying, and there was nothing I could do about it.

The former Hydra assassin didn't reply at first, now staring at the road ahead.

"Then what is your purpose of coming back?"

Robbie sighed wearily. "I heard a voice. It asked me only one thing. Do I want revenge on the bastards who brought such pain to my brother? I only have one answer. Yes.

He raised a hand and smoke began to come out of it.

"The 'Good Samaritan' who gave me this quote had an old nickname that followed him wherever he went," Robbie said. "Ghost Rider. My ex gave me my 'roommate' to save my life and give me a chance for revenge.

"The Spirit of Vengeance," Buggy said. "That's what the Ancient One called it."

"Spirit of Vengeance," Robbie repeated, a dark look in his eyes.

"What on earth does this mean?" Barnes asked. "Revenge? Revenge? Is this elf trying to be an avenger?

"It's just a name Stark gave to himself and his friends." Robbie countered. "He doesn't know the full meaning of the word.

Bucky remained silent as Ghost Rider gave a detailed explanation.

"A true avenger possesses a resentment so powerful that it will not fade even in the afterlife. From what I have learned, there are several types. Those who suffer from "love despised" are those who were born from hatred, speaking of love... they will show compassion after experiencing cruelty. Those who "burn with pure hatred" are those who were born from love, speaking of hatred. Those who have experienced happiness will come to an end due to betrayal. Ultimately, it is an endless cycle. Over time, the resentment becomes uncertain, and no one can know what they really hate. All people know is the need to kill and exterminate anything in their path until their target is snuffed out. Until they are gone, it will repeat over and over again until everything is gone forever.

Bucky chooses not to respond to this, considering his old friend is an Avenger.
