Marvel crosses Star Wars, and everyone attacks the galaxy

Chapter 89 Spider-Man Shopping for Vegetables

two weeks later

Manhattan

The city that never sleeps

As the center of New York's five most famous boroughs, the city has gained greater historical significance over the past few years.

That is, it is home to Earth's Mightiest Heroes and was, at one point, their main base of operations.

A young man had just finished a long day of school and now took on the role of a vigilante in a homemade costume.

Not having Uncle Ben around was the biggest change in his life.

Thinking of his late father figure, Peter Parker, aka The Amazing Spider-Man, hung his head with a slight hint of sadness and guilt, he shook himself away from the thoughts.

Spider-Man pocketed his phone, tightened the straps on his backpack, jumped out of the car, activated his homemade web-shooters, and began swinging between the skyscrapers of Manhattan.

Honestly, the past few months felt like a blur. He kept asking himself how on earth this had happened to him, but for now, Spider-Man was enjoying the exhilarating feeling of swinging through the air.

Spider-Man cheered and fired a strand of silk before landing on a nearby rooftop. He sat on the edge and pulled his mask off while opening his backpack to take out his dinner. He smiled and muttered, "Thank you, Aunt May."

He ate his meal in big mouthfuls, humming to himself as he looked out over the Manhattan skyline, his eyes landed on that one skyscraper - Avengers Tower, once the headquarters of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, standing proudly in the Manhattan skyline. He had seen it many times by now, but seeing the big A printed on the building still made him feel dizzy.

It’s been an eclectic year, to say the least, for himself and the world.

From when he gained his powers at the end of his freshman year, to the events of Sokovia when the entire country was blasted off by the crazy robot, Ultron, to the first three months of his sophomore year.

While Spider-Man is busy figuring out his powers, the world at large is going through some major shifts.

The Avengers lineup has undergone a huge change, with the original four Avengers either resigning for personal reasons or leaving on their own, and five new members taking their place.

Spider-Man is working hard on the sandwich in his hand...

"Hey, that looks good, can you share some?" a male voice came from behind.

Spider-Man stood up sharply, his sandwich falling from his hands.

"Oh...I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."

Spider-Man turned around and was surprised beyond words when he saw who was behind him.

It's Iron Man.

Spider-Man tapped the sides of his goggles to make sure they weren't malfunctioning, then reached his hand through his mask and rubbed his eyes, just to make sure he wasn't hallucinating.

"Y-you're... I-I don't..." Spider-Man was completely speechless at this point.

"Tony," Iron Man said simply, "or as you're better known, Iron Man."

Iron Man then lands on the rooftop and the front of the armor opens, revealing Tony Stark's true form.

Spider-Man's eyes widened to their limit as he fumbled to put his mask back on, at least in a decent way.

When he tried to speak fluently, his mind became a mess and he stuttered and couldn't get a complete sentence out.

"I-I-I-I can't believe it...Uh, you-you are Iron Man." Spider-Man felt ashamed of his performance. After trying to calm himself down, he said directly: "I am Spider-Man."

"Spider-Man?" Iron Man frowned slightly, "Really? Not Spider-Cop? Spider-Boy?"

Peter Parker shook his head and repeated, more firmly this time, "Spider-Man."

Iron Man simply nodded, pulled out his phone, opened the file, and said, "Spider-Man, take a look at this."

A slightly grainy video is shown of someone in a crudely made red and blue suit wandering around the car thief, grabbing the man's legs with webbing and pulling him away. The camera eventually stops on a freeze frame of Peter's mask.

The next video shows Spider-Man diving in front of a speeding car that nearly hits a bus, and he stops it in a split second before jumping out of the way and waving away.

Iron Man looked up and asked, "It's you, isn't it?"

Spider-Man frowned and said, "That's not me."

"Are you sure? Who else wears clothes like this?" Iron Man asked with a smile.

"The videos are posted on YouTube, right? I mean, most of them are fake."

"I just saw you swinging down the street," said Iron Man.

Spider-Man sighed as he realized he couldn't prove himself and awkwardly said, "So uh... why are you here?"

"Let me have a good chat with you."

"Me? What to talk about?"

Iron Man pondered for a moment and said, "What I want to say is that I have an invitation."

Spider-Man could feel his heart pounding at this moment, and asked tentatively, "Invite what?"

"Join the Avengers," Iron Man replied, "You've been on our radar... We've been wanting to talk to you. It's just, you know, we have a lot to deal with."

"You want me to join—"

"Yes."

"You're kidding, you've got to be kidding. I can't possibly - I'm too young."

Iron Man smiled, "As far as I know, there is no age requirement for the Avengers."

Turning around, Iron Man gave Peter Parker a smile, "So, about joining the team, you need to do something-"

Iron Man's prepared conversation was suddenly interrupted by Peter Parker's phone ringing.

The two looked at each other, Spider-Man pulled his phone out of his backpack, cringing a little when he saw the call, before he answered it, looking at the screen and Iron Man, clearing his throat and saying, "Hey, Aunt May."

"..."

"Yeah, yeah, school just got out... study sessions... with Ned."

"..."

"Eggs? Yes, I'll get some. And bread? No problem."

"..."

"I love you too, Aunt May."

After hanging up the call, Spider-Man put the phone back into his backpack and looked at Iron Man apologetically.

"I-uh...have to go get some groceries," Spider-Man said awkwardly.

"Of course," Iron Man said, looking very amused at what he had just seen.

"it is good."

Spider-Man didn't know what else to say, so he simply jumped off the roof and walked away.

Iron Man watched this scene with interest.
