Hogwarts lazy snake

Chapter 187 Calling

At this time, Ron and Hermione hurried over, their faces full of anxiety and anger.

As soon as Ron saw Carlo, he rushed forward and shouted with his eyes wide open: "Carlo, you are just talking nonsense here! We know what kind of person Harry is much better than you do."

Hermione also stood beside Harry, looked at Carrow firmly, and said, "You don't have any evidence, so don't slander Harry here. He is a brave Gryffindor, and he has paid so much to protect everyone, and you are slandering him here."

Harry felt a warm current in his heart as he watched Ron and Hermione defending him so much. The haze of self-doubt that he had fallen into because of Carlo's words seemed to be penetrated by the sunshine.

He felt that he should not continue to be so depressed. No matter what happened, his friends were there to support him.

Carlo's face changed slightly when he saw Ron and Hermione appear, but he still smiled at Harry and said, "Humph, just protect him. When the truth comes out, what kind of expressions will you stupid... guys have? Let's go!"

After saying that, he walked past Harry with his followers.

Then Harry's eyes suddenly dulled for a moment, and then he looked at Carlo's back strangely.

"Are you okay, Harry?" Hermione and Ron walked up to Harry.

Harry looked at Ron and Hermione gratefully and said, "Thank you, I almost believed what he said just now."

Ron patted Harry on the shoulder and said, "Don't be silly, Harry, we are friends and we believe you. Come on, let's go to the restaurant and have something to eat. You must be starving."

So, several people walked towards the restaurant. However, once they entered the restaurant, the originally lively atmosphere suddenly became quiet, and countless pairs of eyes looked at Harry.

Some of the eyes were filled with fear, some with suspicion, and some with curiosity.

Harry felt like a monster being put under the spotlight, and his steps became a little heavy.

Hermione frowned and raised her voice, saying, "Don't be misled by rumors. Harry is innocent." But her words didn't seem to have much effect, and the restaurant was still filled with a depressing atmosphere.

Harry took a deep breath and walked towards the dining table accompanied by Ron and Hermione. After they sat down, the whispers around them continued to reach Harry's ears.

"Did he really want to kill Peeves?"

"If it's true, that would be great, but he's so scary that he could hurt Peeves with a Muggle weapon."

"And he can speak Parseltongue. It's so scary. I'll be killed!"

"I think we should stay away from him. Why hasn't Hogwarts expelled him yet? He shouldn't be in Azkaban!"

These words were like thorns that pierced Harry's heart. He lowered his head and ate silently, thinking in his heart how to prove his innocence.

Ron looked at the people around him and said angrily, "How could they judge you based on just some rumors?"

Hermione said thoughtfully: "We have to find evidence to prove that you have nothing to do with these things, Harry. And we have to find out who is really behind it."

Harry raised his head, a hint of determination flashed in his eyes, and said, "Yes, we can't let the real murderer go unpunished, and we have to clear my name."

At this moment, the door of the restaurant opened again, and Professor McGonagall walked in. She looked around, her eyes stayed on Harry for a moment, then she walked up to the podium and tapped the cup lightly with her wand, making a crisp sound that attracted everyone's attention.

Professor McGonagall looked solemn and looked around majestically until the restaurant was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.

She slowly spoke, her voice clearly echoing in every corner: "Students, a series of events that have occurred in school recently have made everyone panic, and all kinds of speculations have come one after another. But before we get solid evidence, please do not believe those unfounded rumors."

She looked at Harry with a soothing look in her eyes. "I solemnly inform you that I and other professors have carefully examined Mr. Harry Potter's wand. After the most rigorous magic detection, we can confirm that his wand has never cast any magic related to petrification, nor has it cast any traces of similar evil spells."

At this point, McGonagall looked at Harry and said, "Harry has always been a trustworthy student at Hogwarts. His past performance is obvious to all. He is brave, honest, and kind. We cannot be blinded by fear and suspicion because of these confusing phenomena and make unwarranted accusations against our classmates."

That night, the dormitory of Gryffindor College was filled with tranquility, and darkness enveloped everything like thick ink.

In this darkness, only the voices of Harry and Ron were echoing softly, as if they were the only trace of warmth left in the darkness.

"Harry, we all believe you, and Professor McGonagall has proved that it wasn't you who did it. As for the rest, after Hermione's potion is brewed, we can go to Carlo and trick him into talking."

Ron said this while covering himself with the quilt. His voice became a little unclear due to sleepiness, and he yawned from time to time. The sound was particularly clear in the quiet dormitory.

Harry, however, was not sleepy at all. He was full of curiosity, and kept recalling the chaotic scenes during the day in his mind. He couldn't help but ask Ron again: "Ron, did I really shoot Peeves with a gun at that time?"

However, the only response he got was Ron's even breathing and occasional snoring - Ron had fallen asleep, and the snoring rose and fell in the silence, like a strange lullaby.

Harry shook his head helplessly. It seemed that he could only ask again tomorrow. He pulled the quilt, lay down, closed his eyes, and tried to let himself fall asleep.

But what happened during the day kept replaying in his mind like a kaleidoscope, making it impossible for him to fall asleep for a long time.

He didn't know how long it had been, but just when Harry was about to fall asleep, he suddenly heard a voice calling him: "Harry, come here~"

The voice seemed to come from far away, carrying a strange magic that instantly sobered Harry up a little.

"Ron? What's wrong? Do you need to go to the bathroom?" Harry rubbed his eyes, his voice hoarse from just waking up. He thought it was Ron calling him.

"Harry~Harry~Come here~" the voice sounded again.

Harry suddenly dropped the hand that was rubbing his eyes and sat up.

The voice seemed to have an invisible attraction that drove him out of bed, without even wearing shoes, and walked out of the dormitory.

Every time you take a step, the wooden floor makes a slight "creaking" sound, which is particularly abrupt in this quiet environment.

Harry walked through the dim corridor. The characters in the portraits around him were all asleep, and the entire castle seemed to be in a deep dream.

The call still echoed in his ears.

After Harry walked out of the Gryffindor common room, he headed towards the second floor.
