Mystery: I Married the Queen of Mystery
#15 - Information Exchange with the Hanged Man
Besides "The Fool" Klein, "The Hanged Man" Alger was also surprised by the "maintenance" part mentioned by "The Hermit."
Generally speaking, Extraordinary weapons are weapons crafted by artisans using spiritual materials, characterized by a certain level of Extraordinary abilities that are not very high.
Like the "Flame Arrow," the fired bullets aren't even fireballs, only fire clumps.
Because spiritual materials are used, it involves the issue of spiritual loss, so generally, they can only be used for a year and a half, or even less.
The last characteristic is that there are basically no negative effects, because Extraordinary characteristics are not used, and spiritual materials do not produce negative effects, so ordinary people can also use them.
Basically all Sealed Artifacts contain Extraordinary characteristics, and under the distortion of Extraordinary characteristics, negative effects exist, the only difference being the degree of danger of the negative effects.
The concepts of Sealed Artifacts and mystical items are similar, except that most Sealed Artifacts are items formed after the death of Extraordinary individuals or creatures, or items formed under specific environments.
Mystical items have two concepts: one is the term used by wild Extraordinary individuals for Sealed Artifacts, and the other is Extraordinary items crafted by "artisans" using Extraordinary characteristics.
Whether it's Sealed Artifacts, mystical items, or Extraordinary weapons, there is no concept of "maintenance." "The Hermit's" description made Klein and Alger somewhat surprised and puzzled, and the usable time also seemed too long.
Alger couldn't help but ask, "Extraordinary weapons can be maintained?"
"Justice" Audrey and "The Magician" Fors knew the relevant concepts but hadn't had much contact with Extraordinary weapons, so they didn't quite understand what was so surprising about it.
"The Sun" Derrick did have corresponding knowledge, but he didn't like to refute, only intending to listen quietly without asking questions.
"The Hermit" Cattleya smiled and said, "This is a trade secret, I cannot disclose it."
She paused and added, "The service life I mentioned is a very conservative estimate; it should last longer. Even if damage occurs, it can be extensively repaired."
"The premise is that the extensive repair requires a certain fee, and regular maintenance is required."
Alger frowned but didn't continue to ask. He thought to himself, *The new member is not simple!*
Klein, on the other hand, recalled what "The Hermit" had said before, that his research in Extraordinary weapons had attracted the attention of that powerful, mysterious lady.
Now he realized that it was definitely a groundbreaking study in the field of mysticism.
Then he began to consider whether to purchase this Extraordinary weapon. Theoretically speaking, "The Hermit's" quote was very fair.
Generally speaking, a weapon with an Extraordinary ability at Sequence 7 level would be worth at least 600 to 800 pounds.
Being able to create "Holy Water" and having a passive skill, 1200 pounds was not expensive, or rather, there was almost no premium.
However, the subsequent maintenance would cost 150 pounds a year! Five years would be 750 pounds. In that case, it would be better to buy a mystical item, which would definitely be more expensive but wouldn't require subsequent expenses.
But then again, this Extraordinary weapon had exceeded the normal Extraordinary weapon standards, and it wouldn't be an exaggeration to call it a mystical item, and it had no negative effects.
The key was that, at this price, Klein could afford it now.
After hesitating slightly, Klein manipulated "The World" and said, "I'll consider it."
Cattleya said "Mm."
Alger smiled and tentatively asked, "Mr. Hermit, if I have a need for Extraordinary weapons or mystical items, can I directly initiate a transaction with you?"
Cattleya also showed a similar expression to Alger, smiling very politely, "That depends on what I have on hand."
She was very clear that "The Hanged Man" was testing her with Extraordinary weapons and mystical items. If both of these things could be manufactured, then she must be a "Craftsman." Therefore, Cattleya gave a misleading answer.
Alger frowned slightly. "The Hermit's" answer did not help him make any further judgments.
Klein behind the gray fog thought to himself, *Another "old fox" has joined the group.*
Ahem~
Alger cleared his throat and started a new topic, "I recently took on an investigation mission. I wonder if any of you have relevant clues."
"In the past two or three years, in the Southern Continent, many indigenous tribes have been looted, and all the people have been taken away. In various plantations and on the islands at sea, slaves have also strangely escaped."
"After the Northern Continent countries abolished the slave trade, such things haven't happened for a long time. Have you heard any rumors about this?"
Audrey, Fors, and "The World" all said that they hadn't heard of similar things.
Derrick was trapped in the "Land of the Gods' Abandonment" and couldn't possibly know about the outside world.
Cattleya recalled the speech of the participant "Lion" at the Mysticism Research Society a few days ago.
After thinking about it, she felt that this was information that could be traded, after all, "The Hanged Man" had received the mission from the Church.
The commission received by "Lion" and others was likely issued by forces secretly supported by other major powers in Backlund, and the two did not conflict.
So Cattleya said, "I might have the information you need here."
Without exception, a first-hand, inner content is seen at a glance!
The other members were slightly stunned. Klein thought to himself, *"The Hermit's" channels are very wide!*
Seeing that "The Hermit" didn't continue to elaborate, Alger immediately understood, "If it's the information I need, the value is between 30 and 60 pounds."
Cattleya said, "50 pounds!"
If it wasn't agreed upon in advance, it would definitely only be 30 pounds, and it couldn't possibly be 60 pounds.
Alger felt the new member's experience, "Okay, but it may take until next week to get it."
He would withdraw this money from the Church, so he didn't bargain.
Then he added, "With Mr. Fool's witness, I won't renege on the debt."
Cattleya gave an "Mm" and said, "I believe in Mr. Fool."
She paused and added, "I also only got the news a few days ago that many vagrants in the East End of Backlund have disappeared inexplicably."
Cattleya didn't give the others a chance to ask questions and followed up closely, "It can be confirmed that the vagrants didn't disappear normally."
"Because someone has issued a mission to find the traces of those vagrants, and four people I know have received such a mission."
Finally, she said seriously, "Their professions vary greatly."
Some were private detectives, some were wild Extraordinary individuals who made a living with Extraordinary powers, and some were cultists.
Alger understood "The Hermit's" meaning. This search mission in Backlund was very unusual. Then he thought, *Why did I also receive such a mission at this time? What is the connection between my mission and the population disappearance in Backlund?*
Thinking of this, he said to "The Hermit," "This news is worth 50 pounds!"
Listening to the discussion between the two, Fors also understood, "Someone is carrying out large-scale kidnapping crimes? What do they want those indigenous people, vagrants, and slaves for?"
