#63 - Chapter 63: The Man in the Dinosaur Suit

In the flickering light of the campfire, Jin and Olga sat together, surrounded by a pile of gnawed dinosaur bones that emitted a faint, fishy smell.

The campfire's warmth filled the space around them with comfort.

"Ugh~ I'm so full~"

Olga rubbed her food-swollen belly, a look of satisfaction on her face.

The delicious dinosaur meat had filled her with contentment, the fullness in her stomach conveying a sense of happiness.

"A 200-year dream... finally realized!"

Jin chewed on a blade of grass, his hands behind his head. "That's something to celebrate."

"For 200 years, I've been living off the fish that swam in and the fruit on the island, dreaming of when I could eat a feast of meat," she said, picking up another piece of meat and taking a big bite.

Olga looked at Jin, her eyes filled with tenderness and joy.

She knew how important and reassuring it was to have Jin's company in this unfamiliar environment.

'Poor kid,' Jin thought.

Looking at the pile of bones, it was clear she'd really been craving meat; she'd eaten almost an entire dinosaur.

Olga fondly recalled her life 200 years ago:

"200 years ago, my family lived on the steel island of Alchemi, but that bastard scientist's bastard father created pure gold."

Jin listened quietly as the girl recounted her past.

"From then on, everything changed. Hearing the news of the pure gold, pirates invaded the island and killed my mother."

"......"

"Lantern-sama was also attracted to the pure gold, and then swallowed the island I had always lived on in one gulp."

"I always wondered, if my bastard father hadn't created the pure gold, would our family's life have been different?"

Jin spat out the grass and looked at the somewhat saddened Olga.

"You said earlier that after your father created the pure gold, he immediately made you a ring."

Olga took off the ring and held it out to Jin.

"That's right, this is it. A piece of pure gold is embedded on the inside of the ring."

The pure gold on the inside of the ring emitted a dazzling light, clearly visible even in the well-lit area.

Jin pinched the ring between his fingers and returned it to Olga's finger.

"This thing carries your parents' love for you. Take good care of it."

Olga stroked the ring on her finger and said, puzzled, "What you're saying is strange. I'm definitely going to take good care of the ring. It feels like you're implying something."

Jin looked at the confused Olga and reached out to rub her head.

"Someone will explain it to you later. Do you want to come with me to find the person who can give you the answer?"

"Go see... the person who will give me the answer?" Olga pointed to herself, then looked at Jin and asked, "Now?"

"That's right, right now," Jin replied affirmatively.

Olga lowered her head and asked softly, "Are there any other living people here?"

She had been living here for 200 years, and she had never discovered any traces of other people living here.

She stole a glance at Jin, his face with a warm smile, which made her doubt her thoughts. In the end, she chose to believe him.

"Then let's go together..."

"......"

Strange vegetation and bizarre rocks intertwined, creating a unique and mysterious scene before the two.

Jin and Olga traveled through it, sometimes passing through dense bushes, sometimes crossing steep rocks, gradually heading into the interior of the island.

Jin walked in front, clearing a path. As they went deeper into the island, his brow furrowed slightly.

The environment here was too harsh. It was hard to imagine how a helpless little girl had lived in this place for 200 years.

Olga followed closely behind Jin.

Her eyes revealed a hint of curiosity and anticipation. She believed that Jin would lead them to the person who could provide answers.

Looking at the ring on her finger, she knew that it was this thing that had kept her alive for so long.

So, could there be other people who had also obtained pure gold?

"......"

Olga's face was bitter, her legs already trembling.

"How much longer until we get there...?"

Jin said without turning his head, "Soon, it's just ahead."

Olga looked at the identical scenery around her and muttered, "But you've already said that five times..."

"This time, it's really almost there..." Jin was also a little helpless. The little girl asked every five minutes; no one could stand that.

"I'll believe you one last time..." Olga said with a pout.

Jin didn't explain further. After pushing aside the bushes in front of him, a wide open space came into view as the light shone through.

They had arrived at a wide clearing, the ground covered with strangely shaped, unknown rocks, with various peculiar plants growing on the stones.

At the end of the clearing, a vast canyon was faintly visible.

Jin and Olga stopped and stared at the huge canyon.

"We're here."

A sense of anticipation and curiosity welled up in Olga's heart. She knew that the person who could provide her with answers was in that canyon.

She tiptoed, trying to see farther.

"Wow! So many dinosaurs."

Olga remembered the grilled meat Jin had made, and a trace of crystal-clear saliva dripped from the corner of her mouth again.

"......"

Inside the canyon.

Dinosaur nests were scattered throughout the canyon, each containing嗷嗷待哺 (嗷嗷待哺 is already well known, no need to translate literally) baby dinosaurs.

"Roar!"

A dinosaur placed a huge piece of meat on the ground and roared at the baby dinosaurs.

The baby dinosaurs immediately swarmed the meat, vying to gnaw on it and enjoy a feast.

Surprisingly, among these dinosaur nests, there was also a man wearing a dinosaur suit mixed in with the cubs.

His appearance was completely different from the surrounding baby dinosaurs, but the surrounding dinosaurs didn't seem to notice his identity and instead shared the meat in the nest harmoniously.

"It's too late!"

"To only bring food at this time, it's too much!"

The man pulled off the hood covering his head, revealing his fat face.

"I'm starving!"

The man kept complaining, but at the same time, he was also secretly rejoicing.

He knew that this was how he was able to survive until now—by mixing into the dinosaur group and waiting for the dinosaurs to bring food, using this to survive.

In this dangerous island, he had to adapt to the environment and learn to use them in order to protect his life.

"Every day it's just meat, meat, and more meat." The man swallowed the raw meat in his mouth and sighed, "When will this kind of life end?"

"I really want to eat vegetables and fruits..."
