Chapter 23

"Let me out! Quigley!" Winnie crawled over and slapped on the door.

No one answered, and Quigley had already left.

Winnie looked down at the wound on his stomach. It was almost healed, but the blood had stained his clothes red, making him feel dirty and sick.

This is a cylindrical cell with a small area, just big enough to accommodate a few people, and the top is sealed, and it is pitch black after closing the door.

There are only a few sunny days in the Night City a year, and Winnie thought that maybe he would starve to death before the sun came out.

Thousands of miles away, Thales, who hadn't waited for Winnie to come back, looked a little anxious. He felt a little uneasiness, which seemed to come from Winnie.

"Ange, you stay at home, I'll go out for a while." Taylor was worried, and finally went out.

Ange nodded, ran to the basement, and hid himself in it.

"Have you ever seen an oriental boy?" Thales asked passers-by.

Most people coming and going shook their heads, Thales continued to search along the street, if what happened to Vinny came back, someone should have seen it.

There was a smashed crack on a section of the ground, Thales felt that it looked like the marks left by two vampires fighting.

He opened the door and walked into a nearby tavern and asked the waiter: "What happened outside?"

The girl hesitated for a moment, seeing that Thales was a vampire, thinking that he must have some connection with the outside world, and said: "Two vampires fought, and one captured the other."

"What did the one who got caught look like?"

"I can't see clearly, but it looks like an oriental boy." The girl would think, but before she had time to think too much, she saw Thales leave quickly.

She looked at the door that hadn't had time to close, and sighed, "They're always so fast!"

At home, Ange hid in the basement, and the only way to get there was a sliding door hidden behind the door.

Suddenly, the door opened.

An Ge was about to run out excitedly, but he heard more than one footstep. Could it be that someone broke in?Quigley sent someone to catch himself and Dad? !

The footsteps dispersed, some went upstairs, some went to other rooms, only one was getting closer to this door.

Ange covered his mouth tightly to keep himself silent, but the guy was still approaching, and the footsteps became clearer and more powerful.

The guy stopped suddenly, and then Ang heard the sound of him leaving.

When Ange heard his voice go away, he felt lucky to survive the catastrophe, but just as he breathed a sigh of relief, the door was pulled open.

"You are here."

Ange looked up, and the vampire showed his fangs and smiled at him.

"Ah!" Ange was dragged out by the arm, probably impatient with the other party, and ended up with a firm bite on the neck.

"If you're not honest, I'll suck your blood dry." The vampire shoved him into the carriage.

When An Ge was carried out of the carriage, he found himself standing in front of a strange palace, but he was pushed in before he had time to look more.

They took him to a room and went out, leaving Ange standing still, stupefied by the sudden change.

Ange looked around. The windows here can see the outside world. There are stretches of trees, no road and no exit.

He squatted by the pool and swiped the water with his right hand. The water was warm and just right. However, what attracted him more was the food on the table beside him.

Click, the door slammed.

Angus stuffed the pastry hastily into his mouth, turned and saw Quigley. When it was over, his mind went blank with a buzz.

Quigley smiled, walked over and said, "Don't be afraid, I just want you to come and stay for a few days."

An Ge took a few steps back, touched the wound on his neck, and thought that this was simply kidnapping.

"Did they bite you?" Quigley asked. "That's too much. I'll give them a lesson."

"You...why let me live here?" Ange asked him.

"Because..." Quigley remembered the lost ring on Josephine's hand, and smiled, "I hope Josephine can come back."

"Dad took me away. He said...you're going to kill us." Ange couldn't believe him.

"No, I won't kill him." Quigley hugged Anger, "You know I love Josephine, I just want him back, the three of us live together."

"Blood...give me blood..." Winnie tapped on the door, he couldn't remember how long it had been, there was darkness everywhere.

There was a sound above the head, and the light shot down from the gap, and the golden light illuminated the wall and the ground.

Vinny looked at the dust particles floating in the light, feeling like they were the ashes of dead vampires, hurtling in the sunlight.

"Quigley! Let me out!" Winnie stood up and knocked on the door, and the iron door thumped loudly.

The sun was getting closer and closer. This was the first time Winnie felt despair and fear of the sun. He stuck to the door tightly, hiding in the only corner that was not illuminated.

The sun shrouded Winnie, and his body seemed to be burning with flames.Vinny saw flames rising from his body, every inch of tanned skin was ablaze.

The door slammed open and Winnie flung himself into the darkness, a black robe covering him to extinguish the flames.

"Elder Quigley wants to see you."

Winnie lay on the ground trembling with pain, the terrible sunlight almost burned him to ashes, and now Quigley let him go for no reason, could it be that he wanted to see his current state of inhumanity and ghostness?

The guards wrapped Winnie tightly in his robes and picked him up to meet Quigley.

At this moment, Quigley was lying leisurely on the couch sucking a girl's blood. Seeing Winnie who was placed on the ground, he frowned: "You look really miserable."

Winnie heard Quigley's indistinct voice. He was burned by the sun all over his body, and the pain occupied his whole body, so he couldn't think about what Quigley said.

"Don't worry, as long as there is blood, the blood of an old man." Quigley bit his wrist and dripped blood into Winnie's mouth.

The pain eased a lot, and Winnie grabbed Quigley's wrist to draw more blood, but Quigley withdrew his hand after seeing Winnie's skin return to normal.

Winnie wrapped the only robe on his body tightly. He saw the bottle of blood on the table and crawled over.

Quigley didn't stop him, just asked, "How's the sun? Is it comfortable?"

Vinny's movements froze. He heard the sunlight and thought Quigley was going to send him back again, so he shrank under the table in horror.

"Don't be nervous, I didn't say I was going to kill you." Quigley looked at Winnie who was shaking under the table, he squatted down and looked at Winnie and said, "Go wash and change clothes, I'll take you to see one person."

Winnie didn't expect that the person Quigley wanted to meet for himself was Ang.

"Ange? Why are you here?" Winnie saw Ange carefree eating in the palace where Quigley went, completely unaware of how dangerous it was.

"Vinny!" Anger ran over to hug him, still unchanged as usual, "Quigley treats me very well, the three of us will live here from now on, okay?"

"The three of us?" Vinny glanced at Quigley.

"And Dad." Ange said.

Winnie felt a sudden chill, but Quigley's eyes warned him not to talk too much.

"Okay, we'll stay here when... Josephine comes." Winnie patted Ange's head.

"Ange, Vinny and I have something to say," Quigley said, beckoning Ange out.

After Ange left, Vinny asked Quigley: "What do you want to do?"

"It seems that you are recovering well, and you even have the confidence to speak." Quigley pinched Winnie's chin, his red eyes reflected Winnie's pale face, "Do you really believe that your werewolf partner can Erlande rescued?"

Winnie was silent. He knew that those werewolves would definitely not agree to help John rescue Erlande. In addition, he was trapped here, making it even more hopeless.

"Who do you think you can rescue? Eland, Ang or Wilson?"

Hearing Wilson's name, Vinny was stunned.

"I'll give you a chance, if you say save someone, I'll get him back," Quigley said.

Vinny looked at him in disbelief: "You're not lying to me, are you?"

"Of course not, but I will only save one person." Quigley laughed. "Who do you choose?"

"No, Quigley, don't force me to choose, you make me feel like I killed them." Winnie hugged his head, and their images kept flashing in his head.

"It's almost too late, Erlande, I heard he's blind." Quigley sighed, "It's a pity, he's a beautiful vampire."

"I beg you, Quigley, save them." Winnie knelt down, tears falling on Quigley's precious carpet, "You kill me, I killed Josephine, and I will pay for his life , can you let them go?"

Quigley looked at Winnie who was kneeling on the ground crying, he knelt down and approached Winnie: "I don't want to kill you, I just want you to do something for me."

"I promise you, I'm willing to do anything, please."

"Don't forget, you begged me." Quigley approached him, whispered in Winnie's ear, and told him his plan.
