Chapter 11 Slytherin

Jacqueline heard the hat call out that last name to the whole restaurant. He stumbled and took off the sorting hat, and walked towards the table on the far left in a daze. She would rather be reprimanded by her grandfather for several hours than come again.

"Congratulations, Jacqueline." A cold voice sounded beside her, "I thought you were going to Hufflepuff." Malfoy said with raised eyes.

"I've let you down, young master of the Malfoy family."

After Blaise Chabini was sorted into Slytherin, Professor McGonagall rolled up the parchment, picked up the sorting hat and left.

At this moment, Albus Dumbledore stood up.He looked at the students with a smile on his face, and stretched out his arms to them. Nothing seemed to make him happier than seeing the students gathered together.

"Welcome!" he said. "Welcome to Hogwarts to start a new school year! Before the banquet begins, I would like to say a few words. That is: idiot! sneeze! scum! screw! thank you!" he said. Sit down again.Everyone applauds and cheers.

"What the hell is he talking about?" Jacqueline looked back at Malfoy.

"He's always insane," Malfoy shrugged, and took a chicken leg from the dinner plate in front of him. "If I ask you, he's a lunatic, and Hogwarts would be better off without him."

"But I hear he's a genius," Jacqueline said, holding out some lamb chops, "and very smart."

"Who knows." Malfoy snorted, took a little of everything on the plate, and started munching.

"Are you newborns of Slytherin?" A terrifying ghost, staring blankly, haggard, with silver blood stains on his robes, suddenly appeared beside Jacqueline.Malfoy leaned aside, frowning.

"Yes, hello." Jacqueline put down the knife and fork in her hand and greeted the ghost. "What's your name?"

"They call me Bloody Baron." The ghost replied calmly.

"Hello, Mr. Bloody Barrow." Jacqueline looked up and down the bloody Barrow, "May I ask why you are called this name?"

The bloody Barrow didn't speak, but just stared at Jacqueline. Jacqueline felt an indescribable coldness all over her body.

"It has nothing to do with you." After the bloody Baro finished speaking, he floated away.

After everyone had opened their bellies and filled their stomachs, the rest of the food disappeared from the plates in one go.The plates and forks are as clean as ever. After a while, the pudding came up.There are all kinds of ice cream, apple pie, enamelled pie, chocolate sponge cake, fried jam donuts, marmalade pudding, strawberry, jelly, rice pudding.Jacqueline was getting a bowl of peppermint ice cream and some pudding when a tall boy approached.

"Are you Jacqueline?" The boy looked down at her.

"I am." Jacqueline put down the spoon in her hand, "May I ask who you are?"

"Marcus Flint." Marcus introduced himself: "I am your prefect, if you want to survive," he paused, "don't ask the bloody Barrow why his clothes have bloody."

"Okay, I see." Jacqueline nodded.

"Don't hurt the whole Slytherin," Marcus whispered.

Jacqueline stuck out her tongue and put the last scoop of ice cream into her mouth, feeling sleepy and trying to sleep.

After the pudding disappeared, Professor Dumbledore stood up again. The restaurant also returned to silence. "Oh, now that everyone is full of food and drink, I want to say a few more words to you. At the beginning of the semester, I want to give you a few things to pay attention to. Attention first-year students, the woods on campus are all Students are prohibited from entering. Some of our old classmates should also remember this well."

Dumbledore's shining eyes flicked in the direction of the Weasley twins.

"Also, Mr. Filch, the administrator, asked me to remind everyone not to do magic in the corridors between classes.

"The review of Quidditch players will be held in the second week of this term. Anyone who is interested in participating in the house team should contact Mrs. Hooch.

"Finally, I have to tell everyone that those who don't want to suffer an accident or a painful death, please don't enter the corridor on the right on the fourth floor."

"Now, before we all go to bed, let's sing the school song!" cried Dumbledore.Jacqueline noticed that the smiles of the other teachers seemed to freeze.

Dumbledore flicked his wand lightly, and a long golden ribbon flew out of the wand, twisting and coiling lines of text like a snake above the high dining table.

"Each choose their favorite tune," said Dumbledore. "Get ready, sing!"

Then all the teachers and students sang loudly:

Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hogwarts, teach us that whether we are old men with a bald head or children with a broken knee, our minds can hold some interesting things.

Because now our minds are empty, full of air, dead flies and trivial things, teach us some valuable knowledge, give us back what we have forgotten, you just do your best, leave the rest to us, we will study hard, until it turns into dung.

Everyone sang the school song in seventy-eight.Only the Weasley twins continued to sing along to the slow melody of "Funeral March."Dumbledore used his wand to conduct the last few bars for the two of them, and his applause was loudest when they were done singing.

"Music," he said, wiping his eyes, "is more glamorous than anything we've done here! It's bed time. Go back to your dorms, everyone."

The Slytherin first year followed Marcus through the noisy crowd, out of the dining room, and down the marble stairs. After walking for a long time, I came to a wet stone wall.

"Cry nose." Marcus said to the stone wall, and the wall moved, revealing a stone door for one person to pass through.Marcus led the first-years through the door into a translucent common room. The walls are made of black Gothic marble, the ceiling is a transparent semicircle carved with crystal, and green lights are chained to the ceiling. There is a fireplace that takes up half of the wall, with a beautifully carved mantelpiece, and some carved chairs beside it.Huge octopuses and other weird creatures swam above and in front of them.

"The boys' dormitory is on the left, and the girls' dormitory is on the right." Marcus cleared his throat, "The access code for the common room changes every two weeks, pay attention to the bulletin board, and you are not allowed to bring people from other colleges into our lounge. Now, go back to bed." After Marcus finished speaking, he walked straight to his dormitory.

Jacqueline walked a little further down and found her room: medieval tapestries depicting famous Slytherins and adventures covered the walls, and the ceiling was covered with silver lanterns. There were five large beds with green silk embroidered wall hangings and silver silk sheets embroidered with the Big Four, and their boxes had already been brought up and placed beside the beds.Jacqueline was exhausted and didn't want to talk any more, so she put on her pajamas and fell asleep.
