Chapter 14 Finding You
The room was full of strange things, and Ginny couldn't help being fascinated by what was stuffed here. Here's a book about all the monsters in this world and how to defend against them...and some of the monsters themselves! She waited at the door, looking at the room. However, as charming as the room was, she didn't want to enter it.She performed well in Defense Against the Dark Arts class yesterday, and the professor asked her to come to the classroom an hour early the next day if she was free, but he must know that she had free time before his class.
Biting her lip, Ginny took one step into the room, then another. There were no students in the room, and the professor wasn't there, so it was so quiet that Ginny felt awkward.Just as Ginny was about to leave the room, the door leading to the professor's office opened, and a tall man came out.He wrung his hands and seemed a little nervous. Then, he took a deep breath, straightened his back, let go of his hands, and... noticed her.
"Ah, Miss Weasley!" Professor Lupine greeted and walked towards her. "I'm glad you came to see me so early."
Ginny gave him a small smile, and took the seat closest to her.She put the book on the table and put her hands on the table, not knowing what he was going to say to her.
"Oh!" Professor Lupine frowned. "Let's go into my office, shall we? It'll be more comfortable in there than outside, I just want to talk."
Ginny stood up in surprise, and followed Professor Lupine into his office. He opened the door for her, and she went in, terrified. What did he want to say to her, had to go to a more comfortable place? She didn't behave well in his class?Oh, her mommy will definitely break her neck! She looked at the professor, who was still smiling, but his eyes seemed to hold an emotion that Ginny couldn't identify.
Ginny sat down at his table and watched him sit down beside her. With a lazy wave of his hand, a tray of biscuits and tea floated in front of them, attracting Ginny's attention, and she leaned forward slightly.Only powerful wizards could use wandless magic, and Ginny only knew that Professor McGonagall and the Headmaster could do it.
"Tea?"
Ginny nodded silently, and Professor Lupine poured her a cup of tea and handed it to her.The tray floated to her, and she put some sugar and milk into the tea.Ginny took a sip and set it down on the arm of her chair. She was waiting for Professor Lupine to speak, but he seemed in no hurry.
"How is your work, Miss Weasley?" asked Professor Lupine.
"It's okay." Ginny looked at the floor and replied softly.
"Are you excited about the upcoming Quidditch match?"
"Yes, of course," replied Ginny, glancing once at Professor Lupine's face, then at the floor.
There was a pause in the conversation, and then Ginny heard Professor Lupine sigh.
"Are you afraid of me, Miss Weasley?"
Ginny looked up in surprise, dumbfounded. She shook her head numbly, shocked by his question.
"No! No, I'm not afraid of you! Not at all!"
"Then what are you afraid of?" asked Professor Lupine, bending over her intently.
"What—I—" Ginny's heart was pounding in her chest, and she took a deep breath to calm herself down. "I'm not afraid of anything, Professor."
Professor Lupine smiled, and she could not help relaxing.
"Everyone has something to fear, you must be aware of it. I noticed you in class, as if someone might rush out and attack you at any moment. What are you worried about?" This time, when Professor Lupine asked When she was there, Ginny knew, she couldn't lie anymore.
She held the teacup in her hand, trying to distract herself.
"Sirris Black," she murmured at last.
Professor Lupine froze, his body was stiff, his lips were drawn into a thin line. For a moment, Ginny thought she had said something wrong, and then he leaned back in his seat and smiled, and his friendly atmosphere surrounded her again. But his eyes were cold, which puzzled her.
"Siris Black would never hurt you, Miss Weasley," Professor Lupine told her.
Ginny frowned and shook her head slowly.
"His eyes..." Ginny paused, trying to organize her thoughts. "I've seen all the wanted posters of Sirius Black, Professor Lupine, he has crazy eyes."
"His eyes are crazy?"
Ginny put down her teacup with trembling hands. She didn't know her professor very well, since they'd only been on campus together for a few months, but she had a feeling that if she told him what she thought, he'd always find out.Although she dreaded the subject they were discussing, she felt comfortable chatting with Professor Lupine to continue.
"They remind me of the eyes of a man...power and lust drive him mad, and Sirius Black...hatred drive him crazy."
Professor Lupine stared at Ginny, breathing irregularly, not knowing what to say to the young girl. She was only 12 years old, and she spoke like a 12-year-old child, but he understood her meaning. After a few minutes of silence, Professor Lupine was finally able to speak.
"Who are you talking about? Who is that person?"
The face of a handsome boy came to Ginny's mind, and she froze. Her throat clenched as she thought of the boy's unfulfilled promises and sweet lies.
You will be mine, Genevieve.
"They look a little bit alike. I think—"
She stopped.
"Go on, Ginny, it's all right."
"I'm afraid Sirius Black will come after me for him," Ginny admitted, tears welling in her eyes.
Professor Lupine looked at the young girl and felt his heart tighten.
"Who is he?" Professor Lupine licked his lips. "Are you talking about Tom Riddle, Miss Weasley?"
Ginny looked at her professor in shock.
"How did you know?"
"Headmaster Dumbledore told me when I got my job at Hogwarts." Professor Lupine lied. "But I must reiterate to you that although I have been wrong many times in the past, this matter... I am quite sure..."
Professor Lupine and Ginny looked into each other's eyes, neither of them frightened by what he had to say.Ginny needs comfort, but she hasn't felt comforted for many years, and Professor Lupine is the person who can comfort her the most.
"Sirius Black would never hurt you."
---
"Are you ready?"
Ginny looked up at Remus, and his playful tone made her smile.Despite the frigid weather, most Hogwarts students went on their first trip to Hogsmeade this year. After hearing Emily warn her of the extreme cold, Ginny donned a new cloak that Professor Dumbledore had bought her, along with a scarf and gloves.
"I don't want to freeze my fingers," Ginny replied, pinching his arm, and he cried.
He clutched his arms and staggered back toward Peter.Peter looked up in surprise, and touched Remus' shoulder with concern.
"what happened?"
Remus gasped, dropped to his knees, and stared up at the sky.
"The redhead...witch...cursed me," he gasped, before collapsing completely.
Ginny laughed out loud, leaning against a brick wall of a shop for support.Peter frowned, then kicked Remus with his foot, sniggering.
"My God, Remus, I didn't know you were such a good actor!" Ginny praised, walking over to the fallen boy and crouching down beside him.
Moaning, Remus looked up, a smile on his face.
"I'm more of a Marauder than you think," Remus said softly.
Giggling, she reached out to Remus and pulled him up.Peter waited for Remus to shake the dirt off his tattered cloak, and then the three of them continued walking through Hogsmeade.
It was an odd trio, Ginny had to admit.Ginny still felt a little awkward around Remus, and she was beginning to believe that he knew she had something to tell him, because whenever she thought about confessing to him, he had a knowing look on his face .So, every time they were alone together, there would be long awkward silences between them.
And Peter, he didn't do anything to Ginny to make her dislike him.But she knew he would turn out to be a traitor and the pain he would cause. The thought always hit her hard every time she smiled with him or helped him.He was still a boy, a little boy who dreamed as much as anyone else.Ginny couldn't see a traitor in him, so it was hard for her not to like him.
This odd trio formed only because their other friends weren't around.
Sirius was forced to stay in solitary confinement because he got into a fight with a Slytherin, or perhaps Snape. To the boys' surprise, Lily dragged James away and invited him to the Three Broomsticks for a butterbeer, but that didn't surprise Ginny. It seems that Lily invited James out is not as difficult as Ginny imagined.
Ginny looked at the streets of Hogsmeade and spotted a green light. Her breath caught in her throat, and she closed her eyes, shaking off the memory in her head.Did Death Eaters really ever raid this busy street full of laughing students? It's been a long time since that incident, but it still seems to be vivid in my memory.
"I really want to know what James and Evans are doing," said Peter, breaking the silence.
Remus looked at his friend, a smirk flickering across his face.
"It was funny how she grabbed him," he said. "Last night James was saying he was going to give up and here she is...I've never heard him say that before. He was never ready to give up."
Ginny raised her eyebrows.
"Really?" Seeing Peter and Remus nodding, she laughed. "Perfect timing, right?"
A gust of wind blew over suddenly, and Ginny straightened her scarf and hid her face behind it.Peter squinted and looked around. Most of the students had gone into the store to escape the cold.
"Where are we going?" he asked.
