1998. 10, 25

Ginny received Remus' letter at noon. The handwriting was unusual, hastily scribbled and spattered with ink.She knew immediately what was going on.Because of the large number of students this year, she was helping Professor Flitwick give a big class to Gryffindor and Slytherin. She hurriedly explained the reason ("Remus! Tonks!"), and immediately ran out of the classroom

She found Principal McGonagall on the way to the principal's office, and excitedly showed her the letter, and McGonagall immediately nodded in agreement.Because Ginny had to be the first to meet Remus' eldest son.

Seconds later, Ginny Apparated from Hogsmeade to St. Mungo's.Ginny wondered if Remus had delivered Harry's letter too, as she ran down the corridor, ignoring the nurse who tried to stop her.Remus noted which ward he and Tonks were in, number 156, and she knew where it was.In the summer, Ginny often accompanied Tonks to St. Mungo's prenatal visits.

Ginny pressed the elevator button and waited impatiently for the elevator. She couldn't wait, the baby was coming, probably already.Ginny, the youngest in the family, hadn't seen the baby a few times and couldn't wait for a godson or goddaughter. When Remus initially asked Ginny to be her godmother, she was taken aback and choked on orange juice.

"Is that all right?" Remus asked, his eyes sparkling as he patted Ginny on the back.

Ginny wiped the orange juice from her mouth and shook her head.

"Godmother? Are you sure? I'm only sixteen, Remus, don't you want someone more reliable, I'm still at Hogwarts—"

Remus laughed.

"A more reliable person? Ginny, no one can trust me with this child more than you. You will be 17 soon, and you will be an adult, although that is not a problem at all."

The elevator was fast, and as soon as the door opened, Ginny rushed out, almost knocking over a nurse. She yelled "Excuse me" over her shoulder and started counting the room numbers. 144, 146, 148...

While Ginny was at Hogwarts, helping the teachers re-adjust while working hard to finish school, she also knew that she would be an important part of this child's life.Regardless of whether the child is infected with the werewolf curse or not, she will help the child's parents take care of him.Ginny couldn't imagine what would happen if Remus infected the child. He's bound to break down.

152, 154, 156——

Ginny stopped hastily, she had been thinking so wildly that she almost ran over her head. There was no one outside the room, and the door was open, but Ginny hesitated. She raised her hand and knocked lightly on the open door, waiting for someone to greet her.She must have been the first to come.Excitement churned through her veins, and she felt warmth all over her body.

This kind of warmth came and went quickly, and she suddenly felt that she couldn't breathe.

"Ginny." Sirius walked towards her from the room, his voice carefully restrained. "Come in and see Teddy."

She can't move.Since Ginny left Hogwarts that time, it was the first time she had seen Sirius, the first time she had heard him call her name. His hair was still short and slightly curly, falling right in front of his eyes.He was obviously a little embarrassed, but there was still a charming smile on his lips.Ginny didn't know whether it was because of the good news of Remus's baby, or something else, but Sirius looked radiant.

He was very happy.

Seeing that Ginny was still standing outside the door, he hesitated. He took a step toward her, pain evident in his eyes.

"Ginny," he said softly, and his hand twitched as if trying to pull her closer to him.

Ginny shook her head, pulling herself together. But her heart was beating fast, and her skin was getting goosebumps, Merlin, she still felt like she couldn't breathe.Ginny forced a smile, avoiding Sirius' gaze so that she could regain her ability to speak.

"Hello, Sirius."

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Sirius close his eyes for a second, then step aside and let her into the ward.Ginny's arm brushed against his chest as she passed him, and Ginny suddenly felt that the touch between them made her whole body tingle with excitement.Afterwards, the feeling faded, and she saw Remus, Tonks, and a baby with bright blue hair.

Ginny forgot all thoughts, threw herself into Remus's arms, and kissed Tonks on the cheek.

"Congratulations!" she whispered, watching a chubby little arm emerge from the blanket Tonks was holding.

Tonks smiled at Ginny.

"Thank you," she said softly. "Ginny, this is your godson... Teddy Remus Lupine."

Tonks lifted the swaddle so Ginny could hold the baby. Her breathing stopped as she took Remus' baby from Tonks' hands, and she could feel Sirius and Remus watching her.She took the baby in her arms, Merlin, Teddy is so small.

He is pink and his eyes are still open, but the blue hair on top of his head is enough to say his personality.Ginny cried and laughed as Teddy took her fingers in his hand.Remus smirked and dragged her to a chair, and she sat down. She was speechless for a moment, completely overwhelmed by the beauty of the little baby.

Ginny finally looked away from her godson and looked up at Remus and Tonks.

"He's so beautiful," she murmured.

Tonks nodded approvingly, and Remus brushed the damp hair from her forehead.Ginny ran her fingers over Teddy's soft face, then returned him to his mother with a smile. She felt that she was now on a greater mission, that she was to participate in the life of another innocent being. No Voldemort had influenced Teddy's upbringing, he had two parents and godparents, and... Ginny looked at Sirius.

He kept looking at her, unable to look away immediately. However, he quickly looked at the Lupine family.Ginny took a deep breath. When Remus asked her to be godmother, he also tenderly told her that Sirius would be godfather to his eldest son.She had expected that, since Sirius was a good friend of Remus's, but she still found it odd.

A sudden sound caught everyone's attention, and Andromeda stumbled into the room. She took a bouquet, but as soon as she saw her daughter and grandson, the flowers dropped to the ground.Ginny stood up, embarrassed by this family moment.

"Waiting outside? I'll be out soon." Remus whispered to her, leading her and Sirius out of the ward.

"Sorry I'm late," Ginny heard Andromeda cry, and Remus closed the door.

Ginny bit her lip and sat down on a chair in the hallway.Sirius sat across from her.The silence was disturbing, and Ginny looked up, trying to avoid the handsome man in front of her. However, her eyes seemed to have other plans and kept lingering on him.

He cleared his throat, leaned forward, and looked at her with his head tilted.

"I can't believe that Remus has a baby." Sirius admitted with a smirk. "Our Remus, our moon face, is father!"

Ginny couldn't help a smirk.

"Kindly crazy, isn't it?" Ginny asked, leaning over as well. "But he's going to be a good father."

"He'll be great!" Sirius agreed excitedly. "James and Lily were crazy when they had Harry... I remember coming to this hospital to meet James... I was kind of late like Andromeda because I went to the store and bought a lot for Lily and Harry Messy stuff."

"Like?" Ginny asked him, smiling.

She had forgotten how easy it was sometimes to chat with Sirius.

"Balloons, clothes, toys, flowers, cards...basically everything they don't need."

Ginny smiled and leaned back in her chair. She pictured James and Lily with baby Harry. It was surprisingly simple, and she could see Tonks' gentle look on Lily's face.Ginny could picture James beaming with pride for his wife and children.

Ginny choked up suddenly, and she took a deep breath.Sirius also seemed to be lost in the memories, he shook his head to sort out his thoughts.

"Nice to see you again," Sirius murmured.

His voice was so soft that she almost didn't hear it.But when Ginny realized it, her heart was beating fast.

"I'm sorry I missed your birthday party," Sirius said slowly. "I just... don't think it's wise to participate, so soon—"

"Stop it," Ginny said suddenly, softly. "It's okay, Sirius."

Sirius didn't come to Ginny's birthday party at the Burrow, and she thought sadly about what had happened between them.Everyone came, and Remus whispered this to Ginny in the kitchen.Sirius won't be coming, he apologizes.Ginny had only shrugged, but Sirius' absence made her suffer all night.

After they were silent for a while, Sirius tried to chat again.

"How's Hogwarts?"

Ginny wanted to answer him bitterly. She wanted him to feel the pain she was feeling now with him.She opened her mouth, and the ugly words were on her lips, and she almost couldn't control herself. But she realized that Sirius was looking so sad, yet still trying to talk to her.

She shut up.

After leaving Hogwarts, there was no news from Sirius, and Ginny's summer was very sad.She knew that Ron, Hermione, and Harry frequented Sirius' new flat, as did Remus and Tonks. He still lives without her. When Sirius didn't come to her birthday party, Ginny was forced to conclude that they might really be over.

August has been tough for her.

But she made it through. While life without Sirius was difficult, she could get on with it.It wasn't easy forgetting about him, but knowing he was alive and well made it easier for her to move on.And Harry...

Harry knew about her past with Sirius. He was always careful when he mentioned Sirius around Ginny, and he never forced her to talk about things she didn't want to talk about. As Ginny and Sirius drifted apart over the summer, they grew closer.Ginny often spent the summer at Harry's apartment in London with Ron and Hermione, and the four of them spent their free time together.

The two of them corresponded constantly while she was at Hogwarts.Every time he went to Hogsmeade, Harry went to see Ginny.Without Sirius, it was easy for Ginny to decide that she wanted to get back together with Harry.Harry agreed too...they could make each other happy, they loved each other.

Seeing Sirius, she doubted everything again.

Sirius seemed to see what she was thinking, and moved on the chair. He rubbed the back of his neck uncomfortably, then looked into Ginny's eyes.

"How are you and Harry?"

Ginny bit her lip.

"we are doing well."

This is a fact. She is very happy with Harry.

"I'm so glad...you two are together."

Ginny raised her eyebrows, and Sirius smiled slightly.

"He seems much happier now," Sirius said.

"After all, Voldemort isn't trying to kill him anymore," Ginny replied coldly.

"That's right." Sirius hesitated with a smile.

Ginny suddenly felt very sad, and she couldn't help but exclaimed, "Don't you care?"

Sirius frowned.

"What do you care about?"

Me, you big fool, me!You don't even care that I'm out of your life, I'm with your godson and I'm not around you?Did you think about me, did you think about me, I want you, I want you to fight for me, why are you here, but I can't be there for you, I can't, you drive me crazy, I'm for you And the struggle--

"Ginny?"

Her eyes hurt.Startled, Ginny rubbed her eyes, trying to get rid of the dryness.Sirius was about to get up.She shook her head.

"We can't even chat with each other anymore. It's not normal."

Sirius sighed, as if expecting her to say that.

"Ginny, please," he said.

"I'm leaving—" Ginny didn't want to hear what he had to say.

The door next to them opened and Remus stepped out. There was still a smirk on his face. However, he immediately noticed Ginny's red eyes and Sirius' bewildered expression.

"Oh... is everything okay?" His smile faded.

Ginny stood up and forced a smile.

"Of course! Remus," she called. "Teddy is a miracle."

Ginny turned the conversation to his son, and Remus's smile returned, and he laughed, which suddenly turned to tears again.Ginny hugged Remus' waist, looking up at him tenderly.

"You know what, it's such a good feeling," Remus murmured.

Ginny looked at Sirius, who was leaning against the wall, he was so close to them, she could feel his ease.

"You two here, with me, Tonks, and Teddy...something good at last," said Remus, wiping away tears.

"I agree." Sirius said softly.

She didn't look at Sirius, but the words "I agree" made her heart beat faster, and Ginny kissed Remus on the cheek. He smiled and brought the two good friends back to the ward.Andromeda and Sirius talked about Teddy congenially. Although Ginny knew that McGonagall would allow her to stay outside the school for a while, she didn't stay for long.

When she said goodbye to Sirius, he looked into her eyes, then looked away.Ginny was very sad that their relationship had become like this. She would be sad talking around him, and he couldn't look her in the eyes, but she was glad that at least he wasn't pretending that everything was normal between them.
