"Our Dark Lord sensed a wave of magic when you appeared a few days ago. He knew, and another powerful time travel took place, and he sent me to Hogsmeade. Whoever this time traveler is, She went to Hogwarts 19 years ago and a few days ago. I'm handing you over to him."

She suddenly felt that the arms that had been supporting her body were weak.Ginny instinctively avoided Severus, retreating into the shadows of the room. Her back hit a bookshelf and she closed her eyes.

"Are you really stupid enough to leave Hogwarts, Weasley?"

Ginny opened her eyes and shook her head. She couldn't believe it, she couldn't believe Severus - Snape - would do this to her. But, he was Severus Snape. It was he who killed Dumbledore for Voldemort. It was he who had been torturing Harry for so many years, and it was he who had barely treated Ginny as a human being during her first five years at Hogwarts.

And now he was criticizing her.Ginny had to admit that he was right, but she was still full of anger.

"Why did you leave your safe haven?"

"You know why," Ginny cried, her eyes filling with angry tears.

Severus glanced at her, if only she had a wand.

"To save Sirius Black. But why, Miss Weasley? He deserved it."

Ginny couldn't help herself. She jumped out of the shadows, trying to hurt Severus badly. As soon as she approached him, she was thrown aside, slammed into a bookshelf, and slid to the floor. The book slipped and fell on her.Ginny gasped, wiping the blood from the corner of her mouth.

Severus walked towards her, wand raised. Her hands were suddenly tied tightly with ropes, and she cried out in shock. She opened her eyes wide and looked up at him. This was not the boy she had known at Hogwarts. He looked down at her with a smirk on his lips.

"It's time to go now, Miss Weasley."

He took a step closer to her and she tried to kick him with her leg.But he waved his wand, and she passed out again.

Ginny woke up feeling like she was suffocating. She spat out the contents of her mouth, and the blood fell to the floor. She tried to wipe her mouth with her hands, but found that her hands were still bound and covered with blood. She looked around quickly.

She is sitting in an office, and the weather is beautiful outside the window.Ginny sat up straight in the chair, her heart lifted.where is she?Where is Severus? She looked around and realized that she was alone in the office.Ginny stood up from her chair despite the protests of aching muscles. The soreness just now was nothing compared to now.

Severus must have cursed her while she was unconscious, because her skin was now scarred.Keeping an eye on the closed door, Ginny made her way to the table. On the table is a stack of papers and several different books. There are maps on the walls, with different regions marked differently. This reminded Ginny of Harry's visit to the Ministry of Magic in fifth year looking for Sirius.

Ginny felt dizzy thinking about Harry and Sirius at the same time.Severus was going to hand her over to Voldemort. It was she who delivered herself into his hands.Hadn't she thought about what was going to happen when she went to Hogsmeade?Could she break into any building without getting the attention of Death Eaters? She's also been chosen by the most detestable Death Eaters - and he's known her since 1978.Ginny's stomach churned, and she resisted the urge to throw up.

But the nausea dissipated when she was surprised to find a wand on the table.More importantly, it was Ginny's wand.Immediately she clasped it gratefully in both hands, and as warmth ran through Ginny's body, she murmured a cutting spell, and the cord that bound her wrist fell. Her wrists were already red from the rope.

However, she is now filled with renewed determination.Stupid Severus, he left her wand where she could find it and walked away.Probably get more Death Eaters to help him escort her to meet their master.Ginny shook her head, trying to ignore the feeling that the Severus she had just seen still had a shadow of the young boy she knew.

Now is not the time, she thought, moving from the table to the door.Spotting her cloak on the chair she woke up to, she paused, reached for it, and frowned.

Where the hell is Severus? Why did he leave her in this office?Ginny looked again at the office, then pulled on her cloak. The cloak is ankle-length and has a hood over it.Ginny pulled the hood back over her face and hair, and held out her hand to the door. The door was probably locked, but she didn't know what was outside and didn't want to blow it up.

Ginny turned the doorknob with sweaty hands, waiting for the spell or the alarm to sound. But nothing happened.Ginny's heart was beating fast, she raised her wand, and opened the door.

Ginny didn't expect that people outside hurried past, and no one gave her a second look. She was dumbfounded, looking up and down the corridor. She recognized the place immediately, she and Baba had been here so many times, she felt light in her head.

Severus took her into the Ministry of Magic.

She stopped, gripping her wand tightly. Is this a scam? Was it Severus' trap for her, to make her think she could save Sirius, but couldn't, to humiliate her?Ginny held her breath, looking up and down the corridor.People with worried and stressed faces still hurried past.

But if it was a hoax, why did he keep her wand?If it was a hoax, why had he left her a cloak to cover her garish red hair?Ginny's breathing slowed, but her heart beat faster.

Ginny hid her wand in her cloak and walked down the corridor. She passed other offices, bumped into a few people, and chased away flying notes, but she didn't attract any attention. She walked to the elevator and the door opened in front of her.Ginny really wanted to cry.If it was a hoax, it had to be the cruelest thing Severus had ever done to her.

Because her hopes are growing.

"Did you hear that Snape is on the second floor?" a stranger whispered to his colleague as he walked past Ginny.

She immediately looked at the two people, trying to remember where the second floor was.Is it the Law Enforcement Division or the Minister's Office?Ginny couldn't remember, she almost missed the elevator so she could follow the two men and see what was going on.

However, Ginny walked into the elevator without hesitation. No one was there, Ginny pressed the button leading to the Department of Mysteries on the ninth floor, and suddenly felt how easy it all was.

There was no wind in the room, but the curtains seemed to move with it.Ginny could hardly remember how she had gotten into the Department of Mysteries, how she had come to the veiled room.It was as if the veil had drawn her here, as if the magic of the veil had called her.Her palms were sweaty as she stared at the drapery, her breathing slowed.

Who would have thought that she had actually come to the Veil?Ginny had hoped she could do it, but after meeting Severus in Hogsmeade, she believed it was over.He then took her to the Ministry of Magic, though Ginny didn't know if he meant it or not. Now, she is standing here.

She stood before the curtain, motionless. What if she enters the veil and never comes out again?Ginny shook her head, and tried to take a step towards the veil, but wavered. What if she couldn't get Sirius out? What if it was all a huge mistake? Why does she think she can do it?

Ginny glanced back, as if expecting to see someone. But the room was empty.

"It's all right," she whispered to herself, taking off the hood of her cloak. "I can do it."

The first step towards the Veil was the hardest, but once she took a step, she couldn't stop.Ginny took a deep breath and almost ran across the barrier - through the tattered black curtains.

The heat hit her face, and Ginny screamed when she realized that she was no longer running, that there was nothing under her feet. Her body was like a stone falling into nothingness, she tried to grab something, but there was nothing. She closed her eyes, suppressing the desire to continue screaming.

She is falling, but she has to land.Thinking of this, Ginny opened her eyes and gasped. She no longer falls. In the blink of an eye, she had landed on a grassy hill. The blade of grass was smooth under her hand, and Ginny stroked it absently.

But she still has work to do.

Ginny shook her head and stood up.She could only see endless mountains.Ginny took her wand, twirled it around, and looked up.The veil must be far away, for she could not see it from the air.She sighed.

Where is she going? What is she going to do now? There was a breeze, and Ginny turned around, wondering where the wind was coming from.

"Ginny?"

Ginny turned sharply to the right.Someone in the wind whispered her name in surprise. The voice was so familiar that it made her heart stop beating. But she saw no one.

"Sirius?" Ginny called, squinting to see further. "Where are you?"

Ginny took a few steps in the direction of the sound, and a strong heat stopped her.The heat scorched her body, and she screamed and fell to her knees. The wind picked up again, and Ginny lifted her head with tears in her eyes.More chatter came with the breeze, and Ginny couldn't understand the sentences. She tried desperately to hear, to see if it was Sirius, but the heat was too strong.

Ginny fell to her knees, struggling to breathe.

"You finally came."

With those five words, the heat flow stopped, and the cool wind blew Ginny. She wiped her sweaty face. That wasn't Sirius' voice, it was softer than Sirius' voice.Ginny didn't think it was a human voice at all.

"I'm here for Sirius Black," said Ginny, after she could catch her breath.

There was a muffled laugh in the air, and Ginny stood up.There was still no one around. As if that breeze were the sound of the curtain.

"We have been waiting for you, and we are still wondering when you will come to him."

She gripped her wand tightly, her heart beating faster and faster.Ginny didn't know who she was talking to, and that didn't matter anymore. All she knew was that whoever or what it was was going to determine whether she could bring Sirius back.

"Please," Ginny called into the air. "Please let me take him back."

The wind picked up, and Ginny's cloak was blown up.She kept as still as possible.

"What are you giving up in exchange for Sirius Black? What are we taking from him? Every guest of the Veil has two choices: stay in the Veil, become part of the Veil and surrender. Or... Leave. Leave the veil, leave a part of you."

Ginny shivered and wrapped her arms around herself.

"What did you take from Ember DeVito?" Ginny asked softly.

"His sanity."

Ginny remembered reading that Ember had been sent to St. Mungo's after his return from the Veil, and he hadn't seemed quite right.Ginny bit her lip, thinking about what she might give the Veil. What could she give the Veil in return for her and Sirius' return? All she had was her wand, and she had a feeling that even if she offered it, it would be rejected.Valance wants a part of her.

Ginny was so hard that she bit her lip until the blood came out, and she finally came back to her senses. She couldn't keep thinking about what to give the veil.Who knew what time it was outside the veil, if Severus was looking for her?Who knew if the Death Eaters had found her disappearing from the Ministry of Magic offices?

"What do you propose?" Ginny finally asked, looking up at the sky.

The wind picked up again, forming a tornado around Ginny. Her hair was blown up, and she lowered her arms so that her skirt wouldn't be blown up too.She closed her eyes and listened to the voice that seemed to whisper to her.

"We want your love."

Ginny froze.

"We want the love you and Sirius Black have for each other."

The wind died down, and Ginny felt her heart sink.

"Our love?" she whispered. "What does it mean?"

"We'll take away the love, the passion, the desire, the protectiveness, the tenderness that was between you. Love. You'll go back to your time and place, indifferent to each other—"

"No! No, I refuse, I refuse to do that!" Ginny exclaimed in horror.

The muffled laughter sounded again, and Ginny shivered.

"Then you can't leave."

As if the wind stopped, only Ginny was left standing alone in this empty place.

Ginny ran so hard that her legs would break, she ran so hard that she thought she was going to fly.She wanted to cry, to cry at this injustice.Veil wanted her love for Sirius? It also wants to take away Sirius' love for her?She can't take it.

Ginny collapsed. The soft grass tickled her face, and she squeezed her eyes shut tightly. But what else could she do?She needs to leave, she needs to go home. She needed to take Sirius with her.

She wondered suddenly how long she had been inside the Veil.It feels like a long time has passed.Ginny sighed and rubbed her runny nose. She finally sat up and took a deep breath.

"Okay," she murmured. "Okay, you take it, as long as he can go home with me."

The grass in front of her was suddenly stirred, and Ginny waited motionless for the wind to hit her.The wind blew against her violently, and many voices spoke to her, and she screamed. It was as if many voices were screaming at her.She couldn't hear anything.

Ginny put her hands over her ears and screamed, "Shut up! Shut up!"

The wind continued to blow, uprooting the grass from the ground.Dirt splashed on her face.

"You're giving up your love for Sirius Black?"

The voice mocked her, mocked her.

"We didn't expect that at all."

Ginny dropped her hand in surprise.

"We won't let you leave so easily."

Ginny swayed and stood up in the gust of wind.

"Then what do you want?" she yelled through the howling wind.

"We want your memory of him."

The wind stopped suddenly, and dirt and grass fell at Ginny's feet.Veil wanted her memory of Sirius?Ginny immediately imagined a world where she didn't remember Sirius. There, he was just Harry's godfather, a fugitive from Azkaban. There, Ginny doesn't love him.

Her stomach turned, but without thinking, she said, "Take it. Let's go home."

There was a moment of silence, and Ginny felt that the magic surrounding her seemed to be thinking.

"What if we take away his memory of you? What if he remembers everything except you? Do you still want him? Do you still want to take him back to your time and space?"

These words did not come with the wind, but echoed in Ginny's mind. She suddenly felt nauseous and closed her eyes tightly.

"He's going to give us the memory of you. And you're going to give us the hope of living with Sirius Black."

When Ginny opened her eyes, the world seemed to spin.

"Didn't he have a choice? Wouldn't he even know? Shouldn't he have the same problem as me?" Ginny asked tremblingly.

"He doesn't have a choice. You decide for him."

It seems a lot easier now that the Veil originally proposed that Sirius and Ginny live in a world without feelings for each other. It's also easier for Ginny to live in a world with no memories associated with Sirius. But Ginny was shaken by the thought that she would know everything, and remember her time with Sirius, while he would not remember her at all.

"If you accept, you can take him."

Sirius suddenly appeared in front of her.Her breath was stuck in her throat. He lay on the ground with his eyes closed.Ginny ran to him and knelt down. She reached out a trembling hand and stroked his face. His skin was soft, and he didn't seem to have aged since the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. He seems healthier and younger.Did the veil heal him?

"What's the matter with him?" Ginny whispered, clutching Sirius' arm tightly but getting no response.

"Bellatrix Lestrange cursed him before he fell in. He hasn't woken up yet."

Ginny looked at Sirius, tears streaming down her face. Her mouth was dry, she felt sick, and when she spoke, she felt as if she was losing her life.

"Okay. Take his memory of me. Please let me take him home. Let's go."
