[HP Doujin] take care of you

Chapter 50 Extra Story: Animals

"The day has come, my friends," said the red-haired boy, with a gleam in his eyes. "It's time for a change."

The three children around him looked at him curiously. The only girl, Aurora, raised her eyebrows and looked at her brother.Wesley smiled silly and nodded in agreement. The youngest, Gebe, peeked first at Wesley and Aurora before at Tristan.

Four people sat in a circle under a tall tree. The scorching sun at noon and the coolness under the shade of the trees, this group of brothers and sisters have often played here since they were young. The tree was planted the year Tristan was born, and it grew with the Black children as if it were part of their family.Just last year, each child had their names carved into the hard bark along with their parents.

Tristan looked around and saw that his parents and grandparents were all around the house, unnoticed. He moved closer to them, scowling.Aurora, Wesley, and Gabe moved closer, their knees touching.

"We have to fight for this, we deserve it," Tristan said dramatically. "We shed tears for this! We shed blood for this!"

"We didn't bleed for it, Tris," Wesley snickered.

He pushed Gebe, who laughed too.

Tristan nodded with a smile.

"Well, maybe we didn't bleed for it. But we were willing to bleed for it. Every Christmas and every birthday, every single one of us asked for it and never got it."

"They won't even think about it," Aurora said, twirling a lock of black hair between her fingers.

"Yes!" cried Tristan.

All four children flinched and looked towards the adults. No one seemed to notice his cry, but their grandmother glanced at them and then looked away.

"Granny has Crookshanks' hearing," Gabe said softly.

Wesley nodded approvingly.

"None of you have seen Crookshanks," said Aurora, rolling her eyes. "How do you know how good his hearing is?"

"Uncle Ron said—"

"The first mistake." Aurora said immediately. "Aunt Hermione and Mum said never listen to Uncle Ron."

"Dad says Crookshanks has good hearing," Wesley defended his brother. "Daddy tells us that all the time."

"Yes." Tristan agreed.

"Anyway, we already know what Mom and Dad are going to say."

Aurora rolled her eyes and returned to the previous topic.Sometimes being the only girl is tough.Luckily her mom was very sympathetic to her as she was also the only girl.

"They don't need pets, we already have a dog," Tristan said sarcastically.

"Then we'll say, Dad doesn't count at all," Aurora continued.

“They would remind us that Tristan killed the fish they bought him when he was a kid,” Wesley said.

The three siblings glared at their elder brother together.

"Sorry! I didn't know dumping all the fish food in the bowl would kill it! I thought it would just make it fat."

"Fool," Aurora muttered, and Wesley and Gabe laughed.

"Then they'll tell us they'll think about it until the next vacation," Tristan said with a laugh.

These words silenced the four children.

"We need extra help," Aurora said. "But from whom?"

Both Wesley and Gabe shrugged.

"They won't listen to Uncle Ron, Uncle George, Uncle Fred—"

"Uncle Charlie, Uncle Percy, Uncle Bill—"

"Maybe Uncle Remus?" Gebe mentioned his second favorite uncle.

"No, Dad will say he's like a fluffy pet." Tristan sighed.

"Whom? Uncle Harry?" Wesley asked.

Aurora and Tristan exchanged a thoughtful look, and Wesley clapped his hands excitedly, convinced he had picked the right guy.But Aurora shook her head.

"I don't know. They bought a pet cat for James, Albus, and Lily, and Lily almost killed him when he let him go out to play in a snowstorm."

"Aunt Pansy's upset," Tristan said, nodding sadly. "Uncle Harry might be able to give them another reason not to buy us pets."

Aurora bit her lip.

"Do you know who's left?"

The children waited with bated breath.Aurora smiled smugly, making her look radiant.

"Grandma and Grandpa. We've got to stop them tonight."

While the kids researched the best alliance for the matter, the adults sat around a table on the other side of the courtyard.Sirius sat next to his father-in-law, lounging on the back of the chair, listening to the mother and daughter chatting. It was frightening that they were so similar that they didn't even realize it.

"The kids deserve a pet. Tristan and Aurora are already at Hogwarts, and they need more responsibility," Molly said to Ginny.

Ginny breathed out through her nose.

"Mum, I see. But when they're not around, we have to take care of them. Wesley and Gabe can't take care of them, they are as bad as Fred and George. Anyway, I think Sirius is a good dog." That's enough for us."

Hearing her words, Sirius grinned.Arthur couldn't help laughing beside him.

"They need to learn to take care of—"

"Tris has already killed a fish. Do we really want them to commit another murder?" Sirius asked Molly.

She folded her arms angrily.

"That's a fish, Sirius."

"That's our fish," he said grandly.

Ginny held the butterbeer to her lips, hiding her smile.

"Did the children make you do it, Molly?"

Ginny glanced curiously at her mother, then at the group of children in the yard.Seeing Tristan turn to look at her, she narrowed her eyes.

"They're plotting something," said Ginny.

"Wesley's birthday is coming up," Arthur said. "Tristan's birthday is coming up too. Kill two birds with one stone, right?"

"I just thought it would be a great gift," Molly insisted.

Sirius and Ginny exchanged glances, worried about the consequences of this conversation if the children were really plotting something. They don't want to keep pets for a long time, and four children are enough for them to toss without adding another animal. But seeing Sirius frown, Ginny realized that they had been fighting a losing battle. She believed the children would soon be helped by others, perhaps her older brothers, perhaps their cousins. Her parents were already fighting for it, and the kids hadn't even faked crying on their grandparents.

She sighed and shrugged. Her husband shrugged at her too.Seeing this scene, there was a smile on the corners of Molly and Arthur's mouths.Their grandkids owe them a big debt in this matter.
