[HP Doujin] take care of you

Chapter 9 For Yourself

The days at Hogwarts flew by.Ginny had been avoiding Sirius and his dark eyes, and his eyes seemed to fall on her occasionally as they ate together in the Great Hall. When Ginny saw Sirius and Harry coming together in the hallway, she would hide until they were gone, because she couldn't get along with either of them, let alone two of them.

The Weasleys, along with Hermione and Harry, gathered in the Head House as if it were the living room of the Burrow.Ginny gets to know Remus and his quirky new habits anew, and she sees her best friend loving Tonks and becoming carefree. For the first time in a long time, Ginny felt really home. But she was still confused in her heart, she didn't know what to do, and she had to avoid Sirius... However, she could accept it for the time being.

However, nothing stays the same forever.

The next time Sirius found Ginny, she had nowhere to run.She sat in a classroom reading the Daily Prophet, paying no attention to her surroundings. This is the defense classroom in charge of McGonagall, and many people come to the class. After class, everyone left.

There was a faint click in the room, indicating that the door was shut, and Ginny looked up immediately.Finding Sirius lazily leaning against the door, she opened her eyes wide and her pulse quickened immediately. He smiled at her, vaguely reminding her of a carnivore approaching its prey.

"Sirius," she greeted, trying to keep her voice steady.

Ginny was really proud of herself at the moment.

"You've been avoiding me," Sirius said casually, keeping his gray eyes fixed on her.

His directness surprised her, and she wanted to speak, but he didn't give her the chance.Sirius stood up straight and walked towards her.He straddled a chair in front of her, cupping his chin in his hand.

Sirius looked at her, neither of them spoke.Ginny's heart felt in her throat, and she wondered what he was doing, why was he looking at her like that?As if he could see through her?Although Ginny was nervous, she couldn't help approaching him.She couldn't remember the last time Sirius really paid attention to her. Although his face had matured, she could still see the youthful appearance in him.

"At least you didn't deny it." Sirius murmured, grinning cautiously.

Ginny was taken aback when she realized how close she was to him.She cleared her throat uncomfortably, trying to invent a lie to deny that she'd been avoiding him, when she remembered what she'd agreed with Remus.

Don't lie to him.Face it sincerely.

After all, everything is messed up.What harm could Ginny's sincerity do to Sirius and her nonexistent relationship?

"I don't know what to say to you," Ginny replied.

She blushed in embarrassment and tried to lower her eyes. But she can't.Ginny just wanted to see how he would react to her words. She wanted him to show her familiar eyes and speak in a familiar way.If only for a moment, Ginny wondered if it was possible that the Veil hadn't completely erased her hope of being with Sirius.

His eyes widened in surprise, and his smile faltered.

"why?"

She wanted to run her fingers over the black stubble on his face.Ginny had never seen Sirius like this. This way he seems to be older, but also more manly. She fought back the trembling.

"Because you don't know me." She bit her lip and replied. "I don't know you either."

This is indeed true. Her words, however, seemed to surprise Sirius. He sat up a little bit and narrowed his eyes.

"Why exactly?" he said bluntly. "I want to know why you risked your life to save me in the veil."

He took a sharp breath and ran one hand through his black hair.

"You almost died. Remus told me everything. And... you were in a coma for a month." Sirius looked at her intensely, making her tremble uncontrollably. "I appreciate you...but why would you do that?"

Ginny licked her lips.Honestly, honestly, honestly—but what would she say?Ginny leaned towards Sirius, her heart beating fast.

"Because—and it doesn't make sense to you—I need you here."

It took all of Ginny's courage to say those words.Sirius was expressionless, but when he looked at her, she noticed his pupils dilated. He reached out and took her wrist. She could feel her pulse quicken, and she wondered if he felt it too.He gradually smiled, approached her and said softly:

"Thank you."

-*.*.*-

Being honest with Sirius was easier than Ginny expected.Although she often had to carefully organize her words, she was able to smile sincerely around Sirius. She doesn't have to worry about her real life anymore, because he's now a part of it, too.He hangs out with her parents and brother, Harry, Hermione, Luna and Neville every day.

Their chat in the empty classroom seemed to change their relationship. Now, when Ginny was having breakfast with her friends or family, Sirius would walk right up to her and put his hand on her shoulder. He would say something big and loud, get everyone's attention, and then sit down next to Harry.

Ginny felt hopeful again as she began to notice something.Every day at breakfast, Sirius would be the first to greet her, and would look at her from time to time. She didn't know if it was because he caught her watching him sometimes, or because she caught him watching her (or she hoped he was watching her). When neither of them was going to the Order of the Phoenix meeting, they would always be together. He had explained to her that he couldn't handle meetings and the pressure, but she knew he could pass the time in a different way.

Whenever Harry approached the two of them, whether they were chatting casually about the events of the day ("Fred and George's product of pranks are genius!"), or discussing the Order's plans to fight Voldemort intensely, one of them Everyone will politely leave with an excuse. She didn't know if it was a coincidence, or she was delusional, or there were indeed other meanings in it.

Ginny, however, began to hope that Sirius might be beginning to remember his feelings for her, but also found her bond with Harry growing closer. He politely ignored Ginny's odd behavior: sometimes she wouldn't look him in the eye, sometimes she couldn't kiss him, and tried to hold back tears whenever she caught him looking at her.Because she was beginning to understand that he was Harry; he was not James, nor Lily, they were all dead.

She should have known earlier, but sometimes, she still found it difficult to tell the two of them apart. Two days earlier, she'd slept with Luna in the Ravenclaw Tower, and she'd woken up dazedly, rubbing her eyes, and stumbling across the hallway when she noticed Sirius and James walking towards her. .She smiled involuntarily and ran towards them, and she couldn't help but threw herself into James' arms.

"James—!" Ginny exclaimed, laughing.

However, seeing Sirius' expression behind James, her voice disappeared. She pushed James away—no, that wasn't James.Harry—it was Harry—opened his green eyes wide.Sirius grabbed Harry's arm and dragged him away.Sirius met Ginny's eyes, his eyes full of horror, she felt like she was going to explode, she really wanted to scream and cry.

She couldn't face Harry all day.Ginny locked herself in Remus' office, berating herself for slipping up.She was going to tell Harry someday. She had to tell Harry. But that day seems to have come early.

Harry found her in the office and sat down beside her in silence. She felt him take a deep breath and bring her hand to his lips. The kiss was so gentle that it made her feel guilty, and she threw herself into his arms, about to cry.He didn't say anything, which made her love him even more.

He is giving her time.

Ginny didn't even want to think about what Sirius thought of that.He also seemed to ignore her leaks, and joked with her more often.

"Hello? Is anyone there?"

Ron flicked Ginny's head, and she scowled at him and opened his hand.

"Hey, you fool," she grumbled, rubbing where he hit her.

He smiled cheekily, and Ginny rolled her eyes.

"You're distracted, Ginny," Harry said, and she looked up at him, and he smiled at her.

"I'm sorry your game of Wizard Chess didn't get me—" Ginny didn't finish the joke, as Harry jumped out of his seat and grabbed her by the waist.

He turned her around and she laughed shrilly and fell to the ground together.Neville laughed, Ron sighed exaggeratedly, and Harry brushed the hair from Ginny's face.

"It's almost seven o'clock," said Hermione, next to Ron.

Now it was Ginny's turn to sigh exaggeratedly.Harry laughed lowly, and she felt a warm glow all over her.

"We won't be here for long," he assured.

Their eyes met and she smiled.

"See you in the student union chairman's dormitory later?" Ginny asked softly.

"It's disgusting -" Ron patted Harry on the head, causing his glasses to slide off his nose.

Ginny couldn't help laughing as Harry cursed her brother under his breath. He got up from the ground, reached out to her, and pulled her up, and she looked up at him.

"These Order meetings are disgusting," Ginny murmured.

Harry gave her a crooked smile.

"You don't even have to attend," he pointed out.

They walked out of the Room of Requirement, which seemed to have become a private gathering place for their friends. Harry leaned into Ginny's ear and whispered:

"I'll go to the student union chairman's dormitory later."

Ginny watched as everyone walked down the hallway to where the Order of the Phoenix was meeting.Hermione turned and waved to Ginny, who waved back nonchalantly. She hates Phoenix meetings.Members of the Order of the Phoenix seem to be getting more wary and paranoid lately.Their eyes dimmed for some reason.

Looking out the window at the empty Hogwarts grounds, Ginny wondered if the Order of the Phoenix was hiding something from them.Remus kept telling her that the meeting kept saying the same thing over and over again. "We're just waiting for him to attack." But she knew there was more to the meeting.

Ginny walked down the dimly lit corridor, wondering if she should press for more information about these meetings. She doesn't like not knowing anything. Now that she feels more like her old self and more at home, maybe she can handle tougher news now.It was time for her to take responsibility and help prepare for the war against Voldemort.

Hearing footsteps, Ginny looked towards the corridor in front of her.She smiled and ran towards the people who came by.Bill smiled and took her into his arms.

"Ah, youngest Weasley," he murmured in her ear. "Glad I didn't see you lurking alone in the shadows of the dark corridor."

Ginny was amused by his sarcastic tone, and she patted his arm before he put her down.

"I'm sorry, but all my friends left me to attend the Order of the Phoenix meeting," Ginny said pitifully.

Remus laughed beside Tonks (who greeted her with "Hello, Ginny!"), while Bill frowned. However, Sirius came out from behind Bill and continued the next sentence.

"Do you still have friends, Ginny?"

Ginny giggled, she noticed, and Sirius' eyes sparkled at her reaction.Bill ruffled her hair and walked past her.

"That's funny, we're leaving too," Bill told her. "Don't want to lurk in the corridors with you. Got to protect the world."

He winked at Ginny.Bill and Tonks seemed to continue their previous chat, gradually moving away from them.Tonks stumbled slightly as they walked away, and Bill caught her just in time.Ginny raised her eyebrows and looked at Sirius.

"Do you want to stay with me?"

It was a question Ginny felt unnecessary to ask.Every time the Order of the Phoenix met, Sirius and Ginny would be alone together. They would play games, chat or hang out at Hogwarts because they were all so bored with the question "what is everyone doing here when they're not in class?"

But she saw him hesitate, and he looked at Remus.Remus remained expressionless, and Ginny narrowed her eyes.

"Are you going to a meeting?" she asked.

Sirius looked into her eyes slowly, she felt extremely disappointed. She found it strange to be alone with Sirius and Remus again, since it was the first time since she had returned from time travel.
